Overview
This guide contains hella SPOILERS. So, keep that in mind before clicking read more. Some of this information has been found through my own playing, as well as watching lets plays and reading information from the wiki and the steam community pages. If you find any inaccuracies, let me know. That said, enjoy! This was originally posted on my old (now dead) tumblr[kimjonginiplier.tumblr.com]
Animatronics
* Shining the flashlight at ALL of them halts them from moving for a few seconds. You can use this to your advantage.
* When you can’t use the flashlight on the front doorway, that means that somebody has either entered the doorway, moved closer to you, or has left. DON’T CHECK YOUR CAMERAS UNTIL YOU CAN CHECK THE DOORWAY — you risk being attacked by an animatronic. Use this time to check the vent lights.
* Movement (not necessarily in the doorway) is also occurring if your camera screen goes black – with the text “Signal Interrupted” – while you have it pulled up. Although, sometimes movement will happen on the camera you are on without going black.
* When an old animatronic (Bonnie, Chica, Freddy – NOT Foxy) enters the room (including moments when your camera gets pulled down by them), you have a split second to put on the mask. Leave it on until the screen 100% undims before making a move. If you are too slow to put on the mask, they can rip the mask off.
* Listen for bumping noises from the vents – that’s your cue that an animatronic is inside (or has left). Flash your vent lights to check if one is nearing. The key difference between BB and the other animatronics in the vents is the child’s sounds BB makes. Mangle also has a static noise.
* Your window of reaction time decreases as you get into the later nights / harder modes.
* Tends to approach from the front doorway but can also get into the left vent from Party Room 1 (CAM 01). Specifically, he starts from the Parts/Services Room (CAM 08), moves into the Main Hall (CAM 07), and either into the front doorway or into the Left Air Vent (CAM 05) from Party Room 1 (CAM 01). ***
* She starts from the Parts/Services Room (CAM 08), moves into the right hand Party Rooms (Party Rooms 2 and 4, CAM 02 and 04), until she gets into the Right Air Vent (CAM 06). ***
* Doesn’t seem to be able to come in from the front doorway.
*** Your clue that one of the two of them have entered the room is if you hear sound in the vents — twice. The first time they have entered the vents (you can see them in the cameras), the second time they have entered the office. Unlike Toy Chica, Bonnie, BB, and Mangle, You will not see them in the vent lights. They don’t pop up until you bring up the camera.
If you DON’T put up the mask after having seen them in the office, they may temporarily leave you alone, but will eventually kill you, seemingly at random. Additionally, they appear to be able to just teleport into the room, so make sure to be ready to pull up that mask.
* Only appears in the front doorway. The mask does not work on him. In fact, wearing it can cause him to attack you. DO NOT PUT ON THE MASK UNTIL HE IS GONE.
* To get him to disappear, shine the flashlight at him periodically. Not too excessively or you’ll waste battery power.
* He starts from the Parts/Services Room (CAM 08), approaching only from the front doorway, and can peek into the Party Rooms. He do
* When he is in the hallway, he will enter the room most likely after the next time you pull up the camera and put it back down. Like Old Bonnie and Chica, pull up the mask as quickly as possible to make him go away.
* Starts on the Show Stage (CAM 09) and goes through the various Party Rooms until it approaches you in the Right Air Vent (CAM 06). He doesn’t seem to appear in the front doorway.
* Put on the mask when he is in the right vent light until you see his face “slide by” the screen, and the darkness has dissipated.
* Starts on the Show Stage (CAM 09), appearing in the Main Hall (CAM 07) as well as some of the Party Rooms, and moves into the Left Air Vent (CAM 05). When she is moving, her beak and fake eyes seem to disappear.
* She also appears in the front doorway holding a cupcake. To get rid of her, simply shine the flashlight.
* Put on the mask when she is in the left vent light.
* He starts from the Show Stage (CAM 09) and approaches only from the front doorway (through the hallway), much like Old Freddy.
* Put on the mask when he enters the doorway and wait a moment. Then, shine the flashlight again to confirm that he has left.
Note: I am gendering Mangle as female because she appears in the Custom Night preset called “Ladies Night”. It’s not 100% verified what Mangle’s gender is however.
* Only able to move one room at a time. Starts in Kid’s Cove (CAM 12), moves to the Prize Corner (CAM 11), then the Game Area (CAM 10), the Main Hallway (CAM 07), and most likely into the front doorway.
* Can also go into the Right Air Vent (CAM 06) through Party Room 2 (CAM 02).
* If you hear a static / radio sound, that is a cue that she may be near the office in the vent. Put on the mask until the sound goes away (provided that Old Foxy is not in the hallway – make sure to shine the flashlight first).
* If you hear the sound of class shattering, that is a clue that she may be in the front doorway. This is double likely if as this sound occurs, your flashlight does not work on the doorway.
* To make her go away, when she is in your vent light, put on the mask until you hear bumping noises from the vent and the static sound goes away.
* Should you bring up the camera while Mangle is in the vent light, Mangle will most likely get into your room, hanging from the ceiling. Once this happens, your vent lights and flashlight will be disabled, much like what happens with BB.
* Moves from the Game Area (CAM 10) and is not visible until he appears in the Left Air Vent (Cam 05). When he moves, you’ll hear either the sound of laughter, “hello”, or “hi”.
* Put on the mask when you see him in the vent light until you hear laughter / speech and/or with bumping noises from the vent.
* Bringing up the camera while he is in the vent lets him get into the room. When this happens, he begins making laughing noises, and also disables your flashlight and vent lights. After that, he will not leave. This greatly attracts the animatronics, especially Old Foxy (since you can’t shine the light at him to get him to leave). He will either be to your left or http://i.imgur.com/pyvX4so.png[i.imgur.com].
* Subdued by winding up the music box in the Prize Corner (CAM 11).
* When the music box meter is low, an orange warning light appears which flickers faster and faster until it becomes red. Once the icon is red, you only have a little bit of time left before you can prevent the puppet from escaping. After the puppet is out of the box, you can’t do anything. It will attack you.
* Functions like in the first game. No known triggers, however. He randomly appears in the hallway as well as in the office. As soon as you see him in the hallw, quickly pull up the camera and he will disappear.
Strategies
1. When an animatronic is in a VENT while Old Foxy is in the doorway, shine the light at him and then quickly put on the mask. When you can safely take the mask off, shine the light at him again. You can also try to shine the light until he disappears (when your flashlight is disabled).
2. When an animatronic is in the DOORWAY while Old Foxy is in the doorway, you’ll have to wait until the animatronic enters the room before you can pull up the mask.
3. If Old Foxy is in the doorway, and you have an animatronic also in the doorway AND in a vent, shine the flashlight at the doorway and quickly pull up the mask until you know the animatronic has left.
4. If you need to wind up the box while ANY animatronic is in the DOORWAY, shine the camera at them, pull up the camera, wind it for a second or two, then put the camera back down, and shine the light again. Repeat this process until you’ve got it wound up where you’d like it to be.
5. If you need to wind up the box while ANY animatronic is in a VENT, err on the side of pulling up the mask. You will be attacked by the animatronic if you pull up the camera. Wait until you know the animatronic is gone, and check the doorway. If an animatronic is in the doorway, follow strategy #4.
Nights
You’ll likely only see Toy Bonnie and Toy Chica. There is a variation on when Toy Chica comes out; sometimes it’s immediately, others not at all.
Now, you’ll start seeing Old Foxy, Mangle, BB, and maybe Toy Freddy moving around. You’ll know when BB is moving if you hear the sound of laughter, or the word “hello” / “hi” in a child’s voice, much like (Old) Freddy in the previous game.
You will now start seeing all of the old animatronics, with Old Bonnie being particularly more aggressive. Foxy is also a bit more aggressive on this night, too. You will even see Foxy in the hallway at the same time as Old Bonnie, so be wary.
This is when you run into the problem of having an animatronic in the vent while another animatronic is in the hallway.
On this night, the old animatronics will be more aggressive (seemingly more so than the newer ones – but do not ignore them!). It’s probably best if you don’t check any rooms beside the Prize Corner (CAM 11) to wind up the music box.
Same as Night 4, only much, much harder. You’ll have less time to react to events. You should now be operating in the following pattern: camera (CAM 11 only to wind up the music box), mask on, mask off, left vent, front doorway flashlight, right vent, repeat.
You’ll have to think and respond accordingly should something arise that breaks this pattern. It’s all about quick thinking.
After beating Night 5, you will see this image:
As far as I can tell, this is when Golden Freddy becomes active. Otherwise, it just an even harder mode where all of the animatronics are active.
After you beat Night 6, you will see this image:
Unlike the first game, there are 10 different “preset” custom nights that you can beat to unlock items which appear on your desk. These images were found on the FNAF 2 Wiki and were uploaded by Homura-chan.
When you beat a Custom Night, you’ll see this image:
Like the original. Old Bonnie / Chica / Freddy / Foxy are set to difficulty 20. The reward is the last gold star on the main menu.
All of the new animatronics – BB, Toy Bonnie / Chica / Freddy, and Mangle are set to difficulty 10. The reward is a Toy Bonnie statue.
Old Bonnie and Toy Bonnie are set to difficulty 20, and Foxy is set to 5. The reward is a Bonnie (from FNAF 1) plushie.
BB and Mangle are set to difficulty 20, and Golden Freddy is set to 10. The reward is a BB statue / plushie.
Foxy and Mangle are set to difficulty 20. The reward is a Foxy (from FNAF 1) plushie.
Old Chica, Toy Chica, and Mangle are set to difficulty 20. The reward is a Chica (from FNAF 1) plushie.
Old and Toy Freddy are set to 20, and Foxy, BB, and Golden Freddy are set to 10. The reward is a Freddy (from FNAF 1) plushie.
All of the animatronics are set to 5. The reward is a cupcake (identical to the one in FNAF 1).
All of the animatronics are set to 10. The reward is a microphone.
All of the animatronics are set to 20. The reward is a Golden Freddy plushie. It is currently unknown if this mode is possible to beat.
Mini-Games
These happen after you die and appear to be triggered at random. All four of them are pixelated. I took these screenshots from Suzy Lu on youtube (found on the official FNAF Wiki).
1. Take cake to the children, as Freddy.
If you screw up in this mini-game, a jumpscare will be triggered and you will return to the title screen.
2. Give gifts, give life, as the Puppet.
Walk up to the four sprites to give them presents. After the first round, each time you touch them they become an animatronic. At the end, a jumpscare will be triggered and you will return to the title screen.
3. Follow the Puppet as Freddy.
If you touch the present after following the Puppet, the mini-game will end. If you don’t follow the puppet, the game will simply end after a certain period of time. Touching a white sprite also ends the mini-game. Exploring this map reveals pixelated versions of the old animatronics, the new animatronics, the office, and some party rooms.
4. Get Ready! as Foxy
Just enter into the room on the right three times. On the third time of entering into the room as Foxy, a jumpscare will trigger.

Hallucinations
* At random, a black silhouette taking the shape of Toy Bonnie will appear in the office on the left side of the screen. This typically results in a game crash, but can also fade away without doing anything.
* This Endoskeleton appears in the Left Air Vent (CAM 05) and in the Prize Corner (CAM 11) periodically. It does not attack the player. It has an appearance much like Foxy, but is clearly distinct from Mangle. This hallucination does not crash the game.
* An animatronic which looks much like Golden Freddy is seen sitting in the Parts/Service Room (CAM 08). This animatronic does not do anything. It can not be Golden Freddy because the color is a dark purple (all of the other old animatronics in that room retain their color). This hallucination does not crash the game.
