Now that you have registered your account, and hopefully have completed the tutorial. You are now standing there wondering what to do. This guide will be for you.
I highly suggest you go thru the startup tutorial and read the games startup guide.(Press F1)
The first thing to do is press the M key to view the map and see where you are.

As you look at the map the bigger red box is your current location. Smaller red boxes are lighthouse players have made. The red small circles are Bot spawns that have a reward if you kill them. Bottom center next to the yellow desert is a blue circle that is the crystal cavern.
The Grey areas are mountains, Green are forests and yellow deserts.
On the bottom left of the map screen you will notice 2 #’s change as you move your mouse around, those are the X,Y coordinates of that location on the map.
On the bottom right you will see 2 buttons Oil and Zone. The zone button will display the green, yellow, red and black zones on the map.
Green zones are where players have spent at least 2hrs in that location.
Yellow is areas surrounding the green zones.
Red zones are danger zones where you may be attacked by zombies and if you die in this zone you have a 10% change to lose something from each units inventory slots.
Black zones are like red zones but you have a greater chance of being jumped by zombies and you have a 50% chance of losing something from each units inventory slots
