BASIC GUIDE TO REIGNING CATS

Overview

Here are some basic tips and guides in playing Reigning Cats

MAKING MONEY in Greedy Mode

The beginnning of the game can be frustrating without money especialy when you can’t pass a wave (a boss level).
Luckily there’s plenty of ways to earn precious resource in Reigning Cats. Here are a few examples:

  • Pottying. Cleaning a litterbox may require a little bit of patience but this will pay off since you’ll start finding hidden treasures inside that magical box. Also, you might get lucky from time to time!

  • Save it for later. This may sound unconventional, but you don’t have to always hire a cat during a wave. Kingkat can protect himself too. Yes, he may be too weak on his own but you’ll get more money in the end. It’s part of resource management.
  • Invest on the right upgrades. Yes I know, you might say: “well, that defeats the purpose of me having the freedom to choose what I want to upgrade.” Abosolutely right! But, investing more on offensive upgrades may not be the best idea. Try investing on Venture.

  • Venturing. Sending cats to venture during wave can also boost up your resources depending on the type of cat you send. The Priest brings a lot in but he’s weak, and you might have to call him in when his hp get’s too low so he can rest up and heal. It’s best to send a Rogue since he’s cheaper but also brings more in than a Warrior. Try them all out!
  • Restrategize. Learn the Boss’ behavior and weaknesses. Next time you try again, look at their line up and place your troops accordingly. You may just need a properly placed Warrior and you’ll be good till the next Boss.

  • Sell them. Yes, this sounds really horrible but a very low hp Warrior is no good, so why not sell him and let him get some rest?
  • Buy a Rogue. If you have enough resource to purchase a Rogue upgrade do so. Next time you hit the wave you can just have him hide in the shadows while stealing money from the dogs. He’s also weak without proper upgrades or protections so be careful.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Clicking on the venturer’s bed will call him up to sleep and regen on hp.
  • Once you get the proper level in Trading you will gain a Toolbox in town, which you can collect golds from from time to time.
  • A lvl 3 Rogue can attack a dog from behind a door inside the castle
  • It’s best not to use the milk on a low hp warrior, instead sell him and hire a new one.
  • A warrior on defense mode can deflect the frizbee when he’s posted next to Kingkat.
  • When a dalmatian is present, sometimes she also make other dogs hard to detect. They can be attacked by clicking them.
  • Pressing the middle mouse button will bring up informations about a dog when clicked.
  • All the boss’s names are based (well, almost) on historical figures such as:
Joan of Arc – is considered a heroine of France. One of poodle’s origins is France, hence the Fleur de lis symbol on her banner.
Laika – is based off a Soviet space dog who became one of the first animals in space, selected to be the occupant of the Soviet spacecraft Sputnik 2.
Zeke – was a fictional character from Disney’s animation Three Little Pigs, directed by Burt Gillett and first released on May 27, 1933.
Gidget – is the name of the Taco Bell’s chihuahua mascot.
