Budgeting for Corruption
To figure out whether it’s worth it to take that blood offering, we have to establish a budget for our corruption. In order to do that, let’s examine the corruption system.
The Final Curse is applied at 500 Corruption.
With the Will of Sich’al Blessing active. that becomes 600.
In other words, if we assume that we will eventually gain enough skill that we can play around the first four curses, our “maximum gross Corruption” (Max) is either 499 or 599.
The map has seven rooms (+20) per level, including the Boss.
Additionally, we may lift one curse (-100/-120) after each boss fight. This means that our Corruption “overhead” (Rooms) is:

With all that in mind, here is what our final tally looks like:
So in short: we have, at the very minimum, 275 Corruption to work with. That’s quite a lot. That’s enough for two Cursed items, a smattering of stats, and an upgrade, even with some room left for stray Dark damage.
In short: yes. That item you can’t afford probably is worth the Corruption. At least the first four or so times you have to make that choice.
