How to: Survive and Thrive as a Beastly Mama Lynx

Overview

Moving Around To move around you use the W A S D keys. Hold SHIFT + W to run and you can also do SHIFT + W + SPACE which makes you jump.To pick up prey or cubs you just need to be on top of them then click the left mouse button. Hunting To catch prey you need to hold down the buttons SHIFT + W and then just run into your prey. When hunting deer you need to chase them and then press SHIFT + SPACE when you are very close so you jump on its back and kill it.If you hear an owl hoot then use Scent Vision to look up at trees with red leaves. You will see an owl on top and below it eggs. Walk up to the tree and left click to shake the tree. Prey Different areas will offer you different prey. I made a list below of all of them.Tundra: Skull Deer (Chamois), Deer, Rabbits, LemmingLake: Frogs, Deer, Rabbits, Owl Eggs, Duck Eggs, Lemming, PheasantBig Tree: Frogs, Rabbits, Owl Eggs, Duck Eggs, Lemming, Pheasant, Fang DeerFrogs are one of the easiest things you can catch. You will find them in tall brown grass near water. They aren’t fast and spawn in the Spring and Summer. Though they only feed one cub at a time. In the Big Tree area they can be found near the log used to cross into the Tundra.Owl Eggs are found in trees with red leaves and yellow/white bark. You can knock them down by left clicking the tree and shaking it. They feed all four cubs at once. Duck eggs are around the same area as frogs.Rabbits are tricky to catch but after catching them for a while you get a feel for what they are going to do. When chasing one they will dart left, right, and under your legs but thankfully they come in groups from 1-8. They feed two cubs at a time.Lemmings aren’t hard to catch and don’t get startled easily. They pop out of mounds in the ground. But if you don’t catch them in time, they can dart back in. They feed one cub at a time.Pheasant take a fairly descent amount of skill to catch and if you don’t get them quickly then they fly off. They feed 2 cubs at a time. They reside in foresty areas.Deer can be found in herds of 1-11 (from what I’ve seen). You get really close when stalking but in order to take one down you have to chase then press SHIFT + SPACE to jump on their back, killing them. Bucks have different antler sizes from small, medium, and large. They feed four cubs at once.Skull Deer are alot like regular deer but harder to get. They spook easier, are faster, and turn more swiftly. They have a black coat with a white skull-like pattern on their head. They come in herd amounts from 1-4 (from what I’ve seen) and only have the small antler sizes. They feed four at once and fully recharge your stanima if eaten. They respawn at the bottom left and top left of the Tundra map, or (for those who prefer directs) far southwest and northwest of the coast. They have a very slow respawn timer. They are also called Bluebucks and goats.Fang deer are no different from the regular deer except their model has fangs, a more orange coat, and that they spawn in the Lake area. Same jump on the back killing tactic and feeds four cubs at once. Dark Sky Dangers At the Big Tree a black flood/avalanche will come from the mountains and pour into most of the area. You will know it is coming when all the prey suddenly runs away, the skies go dark and when an erie music plays. The safest place to go until it goes away, is the den under the big tree. The flood also occurs in the lake area and for me it was really hard to find a safe spot. The best place to go is on high ground when the flood is about. Your cubs will also freeze in fear. When they do that just call them multiple times or pick them up. Be careful not to leave them behind. In the Tundra the sky will go dark, prey will run off, and a loud drum music will play fallowed by a howl. This means that the wolf pack is out hunting you and the only spot you can go to keep you and your cubs safe is to jump on platforms in the middle of the plains. The wolf attack will usually happen once but sometimes if you enter the center of the Tundra over and over they wolf pack will keep coming. You can’t out run the wolves (even though all of us have tried to once) and if they reach one of your cubs a loud erie cry from the cub enter into the air. If they get your cubs as jouviniles then the cubs will fall on the ground and sink through the earth. Be careful, wolves have been known to glitch in many many ways. Another tip, when you first come into the Tundra, stay near platforms and avoid hunting deer because they might draw you away from the platforms. This way you will always be prepared. Ways to Die Kits can die in many ways so I decided to list them out so you can know what to look out for.Starvation. Wolf Attack. Being Left Behind Too Far. Flood. Drinking the Death Water kills cubs and makes everything become grey for a second with Mother Lynx. Eagle. Fox. Bear. And glitches where they fall through the map and die from being too far away. But for some reason Mother Lynx is invincible. I’ve drowned her. Allowed her to be knocked out by wolves. Starved her. Even fell through the map until Mama Lynx’s model just started freaking out and spazzing all over the place. Nope. Still alive. Collectables When you eat a rabbit, a deer, or pheasant their skull will glow a golden yellow and when you walk over it, it will be sent to your collections screen. To open this press C. Over time you will explore the area and this will be added to your memory/map. To open this press M. To find the Siberian Tiger Skull go South from where you enter in the Tundra. Eventually you will see a pile of rocks on your map. Go there and you’ve found it along with creepy music. To find the Mammoth Tusk go to the Tundra and head Southwest. Eventually you will be able to see a glacier that is half on the mountain and half on the ground. Go there and you will find the tusk along with the Mammoth, but the only way to reach it is to cross the frozen water in winter. To find the Fox Skull go to the very top right of the map in the Big Tree area. It is in a slight clearing close to the mountain side. It will be laying out in the open there. To find the Pink Flower go to the east side of the Big Tree area map and stay close to the mountain walls. Eventually you will spot a cliff spot you can jump on like the ones in the Tundra except these are half in the side of a mountain/hill spot. On the top you will see a wide and pale tree on a mound. By it you can see the pink flower there. To find the Blue Feather head west (it shows in the map) of the Big Tree and you will find not far away an uprooted tree with a dirt ring where the uprooted roots are. In the ring you will find the Blue Feather. To find the Rose go to the center of the Lake when it is frozen at winter. Near the center you will see a small island with one tree and lots of rocks and brush. Go there and you will see the bloomed rose easily. To find the Pink Feather go to the North side of the Lake. You might see a swan around the area, but keep moving and you will soon see a path with two fallen trees hanging over it. This path is right next to the lake and if you fallow it, it should lead you to a cave with a feather that is white with black tips. There you go! Coat Colors If you raise your cubs to adulthood and finish the game, then at the Title Screen you will see an option Family Tree. There, you click on one of your surviving cub’s name and you can play as them with that skin. Black, white, red, or beige.Hope this helped -Draeox Happy Hunting Comments Down There / / / / (Past the Pictures)
