How to upload your module to Steam

Have you ever wondered how to upload your modules onto the Steam workshop for other people to play and give feedback? Here is a guide to do just that

How to add / Install your module to the Steam Workshop and download other Modules

If you wanted to learn how to just install other peoples modules – then skip straight down to the bottem.

Firstly create your module. Then Press F2; this will bring up your console for the engine.

Then type in the following into the console.

steam_workshop

if you typed it correctly make sure that there is no line spaces or enter lines which could confuse the console. If done correctly the following should steamworkshop window uploader should pop up

then click on the top option which will upload the entire module for you.


Fill out each of the steps, and use a thumbnail that shows off what makes your module unique to make sure that your module stands out from the others. Then it will upload it to Steam. You may have to agree with some terms and conditions depending on how much workshop content you have produced.

As well as this if you have some errors it may be due to Unfolding not being able to be able to connect to the Steam workshop Servers.

Once it has been uploaded to Steam you need to make it public. Click on the open URL link to open it up.

Set the visibility as public and it should appear on the Steam Workshop now for others to access.

Once users have subscribed to your Module on the Steam Workshop they can install it through the main menu
