Sidedream with the “endless” corridor – Act 1

How to find the sidedream

You find it in the hollow (see picture).

Reference to the nightmare (Act 1)

In the blue corridor, near the beginning of the dream, you have to pass a sector full of elements from the office of Howard’s uncle, Edward Phillips.
Opposite this section is a window, which shows you a yellow room with a ceiling lamp in the middle of your sight. The construction of this little complex is most likely referring to the nightmare in Act 1. There you have to grab the right book in the office and the room becomes immediatly blue. When you look to the open door you see a ceiling lamp in the middle of your sight in the yellowish corridor. Below you see in pictures a comparison of the situation.

Yellow, green and red gate

These gates are all locked at the beginning. You can open them with according buttoms on one side of each gate. The yellow and the green gate can be reached without any gadgets. You just have to walk through some hallways. The red gate isn’t reachable without the magic stone you get from another sidedream. How to open the red one? You should find a room with some fences. At the right is a red gate, which seems to have no buttom and just an empty room behind it.
Use your stone to open it. Behind the gate is not a wall, it’s an abyss, which leads to the red gate besides the green and yellow one.From that side you can open it.

The “endless” corridor

You will find a corridor with a blurry text in your sight. If you run in its direction, it moves away from you. The corridor repeats. On the right and on the left side is each a white gate. If you enter one of them you fall into an infinite abyss with colorful protrusions. If you land on one of these you will get into the same corridor, but the gate you left has now the according color of the protrusion. The gate on the other side stay white, but will also change the color, when you enter it and jump down. Furthermore, the color of the other gate will change aswell, when it’s not more white and you jump down at the other aswell colorful gate. Whatever you will do, you will not reach the text in the corridor. To reach the text, you have to keep away from that corridor. If you already went further in it, you cant reach the text anymore – you have to restart the sidedream. If you were not in the corridor, do following: Take your teleporter (a gadget from Act 3) and teleport yourself so often until you appear in the middle of an abyss besides the “endless” corridor. Than land on one of the protrusions. it doesn’t matter which color you choose. Than walk into the corridor and go to the text. You will reach it. It shows: “a writer.”.That is the answer on the poem, which you will find as fragments everywhere in the sidedream. When you go to the text, it’s mirrored. Therefore you have to turn around it. Moreover, many players had to see “a writer” to get the best ending in the game: Becoming a writer. However, that doesn’t concern everyone and the patches probably change and changed this circumstance.

When you look on your map, it will show a secret about that sidedream.

The fall into other dimensions, the mirrored text, the secret on the map and the corridor, where you cant move from the spot by normal running (see the “Red Queen’s Race”), seem to refer on works of Lewis Carrel (“Alice in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There”).
