Overview
Nice information to have
I will only focus on co-op stuff. (I only played it co-op, I’m a coward)
We cowards like to simplify things and make it less scary.
1) Play Co-oP for less scaryness
2) Bigfoot/Yeti counts groups as people within 50 meters of eachother (the range of which you can see other players names)
3) Bigfoot/Yeti hates water, jump in it before he attacks (this is more of an exploit)
4) Bigfoot/Yeti usually roars 2 times before he attacks, 1 is “I found you”, 2 is “I’m attacking”. If one of you is a 1 hit, he/she should run away from the roar (1st one), while the player with good health runs to it, this way it will only attack that 1 player (run till you can’t see eachothers names).
5) Playing with 4 players it could be recommended to spread out when you hear it roar a second time. This way you will have more time to shoot as it attacks all of you.
6) Bigfoot/Yeti doesn’t really care about you until you damage it (by shooting or traps), meaning you can walk around exploring without a worry. And I mean it really doesn’t care. It can sometimes damage itself (cause unknown), in which case it will attack, but still not be very agressive as it won’t take much damage.
7) Use flashlights, since they will blink rapidly when it attacks. Unsure if it attacks more with flashlights on.
8) Cameras beep twice when it’s nearby it. I would like to see the cameras blinking on the map, so you would know where and which one he’s at.
9) So far it seems as it never ever attacks the cabin. I have yet to see it attack the cabin. (The cabin seems to be a sort of safe zone, me and my friend put traps around it to try, put we got no response for 3 days. Although it will often pass by when we are somewhere else.)
10) Hunting towers might seem like a safe spot, but they are NOT SAFE. It won’t climb the stairs as I learned the hard way. It will destroy it.
11) Apperantly it focuses on the smaller groups, so if you are 4 people, and 3 of you walk together, it will focus on the lone person. (I have yet to confirm this, as I only played with 1 friend)
12) If you don’t want to use the water exploit, then you can find a place where it can only come from 1 direction, like the ice by the cabin lake/centre lake)
13) Use cameras as a sensor to detect where it’s heading or where it’s at. Around the place you will be camping for example.
14) Remember to RELOAD, and don’t take too risky shots.
15) Beware of fall damage. Me and my friend have yet to die to the bigfoot/yeti, but have died quite a few times to fall damage and fire.
16) Cover traps by holding E over it, not tapping. Put meat onto the trap before you cover it, you put it on by left-clicking when you see “trap” on your screen.
17) Use traps alot, they do ALOT of damage, I recommend using traps to “start” the hunt, after you are done getting all the ammo and medicine.
18) Medicine heal a tiny bit over half your health.
19) Aiming as he moves isn’t always easy.
20) THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! He jumps, high, very high. Feel safe behind that giant rock? Don’t feel safe behind that giant rock. Feel safe on that mountain? Don’t feel safe on that mountain. Unless you haven’t damaged him, then you are safe everywhere from everything except fall damage and fire damage…well, until bears and wolfs are added. (Yet to test rifle damage, knife doesn’t work on players, works on bigfoot tho)
21) It seems that if you’re thinking of setting camp and hunting bigfoot inside the glacier cave, he might get stuck INSIDE the glacier itself. The lights will blink and he will roar, but he can’t get you.
Remember, making fun of the bigfoot/yeti doesn’t really help, but it might be fun for you.
