General Tips for people finding this game difficult

How to survive

Deus Ex is at its core a stealth game.

So you need to treat it as such if you wish to survive and thrive

…Though perhaps better than the previous game in this regard with things like the Titan aug it is still a stealth game really..

Look this game does not reward you for being silly – stand in the middle of the street shooting and people will come and shoot back,

There are several things here to learn how to play the game –

1 Pick the engagement

This is mulitfaceted but basically YOU need to be the one picking the engagement not the enemy this means you need to consider variables – like if I shoot this guy can other people hear this or if I do it silently can they see and revive him?

Deus ex gives you alot of tools to let YOU solve the problem how YOU want to solve it the thing is you need to figure it out with the upgrades and equipment YOU have.

Examples

So here is an example:

You have a room full of hostiles and (minor spolier) you have decided not to walk in and negotiate with them – you have decided to take them out….

So what are you options?

You could silently take them down with headshots from a silenced weapon from cover

Doing so will require you to be quick on the draw and take headshots when enemies are not looking at you.

You could lead them into an ambush down a narrow passage:

The advantage of that of course is that they will be coming directly at you one by one and are quite easy to kill this way

The disadvantage is that they will know where you are and WILL shoot at you plus they may decide to use grenades on you….

Another option is to throw a Gas grenade into the room:

There are several advantages of this the first being that is an area of effect weapon that will knock out several enemies.

The second that it is LTL or less than lethal, and therefore keeps the body count low for those that are bothered about that,

Your choice of guns is important and related to the above if you are shooting people and they are not dying then you might be shooting at them with the wrong gun….Just saying

(AI)

The Ai is actaully quite good in this game – I reacts in believeable ways to changes to its enviroment particually you shooting or alerting and enemies work together in semi smart ways to bring

Now its been a while since ive played and Im coming back to this game so I might be rusty but hopefully some people will look at this and realise a few things

Since I am coming back I might revise this guide when I have time tho I am very busy.
