Tips and Progression Help
This section is based on my personal opinion and time spent with the game. This should help you beat the game on Easy but remember to take this with a grain of salt.
How to Beat the Game on Easy
- Replace your starting weapon as soon as possible.
- The best mid tier weapons without upgrades are the Combat Shotgun and the Burst Pdw.
- Avoid challenge rooms. The risk/reward ratio is heavily skewed out of your favor.
- If you find a Dragon Skin or any item that increases your damage, it takes priority over whatever is in that slot.
- Any exploding weapon or item and anything that gives Cleaving will help you clear trash mobs like tiny scorpions and bats much easier.
- Prioritize buying extra health and skip buying shields unless you have a significant pool of coins.
- Get as many damage upgrades as possible.
- Avoid spending coins on ability upgrades.
- Ultimates to keep include Elli’s/Odin’s Favor, Njord’s Riches, Snap Fingers and The Quest.
- The tooltip “Keep an eye out for secrets” means that you should be looking up in every room you enter for platforming sections. These usually have shrines or chests at the end.
Tips and Tricks
- You can hold shift to sprint
- Explosive weapons allow you to rocket jump by shooting at your feet.
- Most enemies have a glowing white spot somewhere on their model. This is a weak point and will do extra damage to the enemy when you shoot it. Most enemies that don’t have one conspicuously visible take extra damage on headshots.
- Some attacks can be dodged, jumped over or require you to break line of sight. Keep an eye on your crosshair as each of these has a different symbol that telegraphs the attack.
- You can tell what’s inside a chest based on the chest’s model. Small chests contain a coin, a key or a health potion, medium chests can contain several of these items, large chests contain even more. Locked chests contain a stat buff or a piece of equipment and the flat version contains a weapon. The big chests behind damage walls in golden chest rooms can contain Clip Ups as well.
