How not to get slaughtered as a new player!

Welp since I am waiting for the “GAME SESSION ACTIVE” to time out I figured I would write up some quick information to help alot of the new players that are having trouble in PvP servers. These are just off the top of my head but should help you stay alive longer if you start to build this advice into your daily gameplay:

– Always pick up a loaded weapon as fast as possible. This may seem obvious but I kill so many players in PvP servers that are just walking around with fists and no loot, even after passing multiple guns. Any gun is better than no gun even if you dont like the look/feel of it. You can always dump the unwanted gun later when you find a better one.

– Always keep your gun out at all times. If someone gets the jump on you or you turn a corner with no weapon out, you are losing 20% of your DPS just switching while they are lighting you up. I suggest making “Q” switch to fists and “E” switch to last weapon so you can toggle back and forth from guns to melee when zombies chase you.

– Try to scout the area for a minute before running into a town or city. Most players have ADD in this game and will move after about 30 seconds from thier camping spot. If you see a riot shield there is a very good chance a player is either behind it or close in the area.

– Always move with cover instead of going directly from point A to point B. Many players just run right through open fields to get where they are going as fast as possible but once you start getting shot in the open you are in very bad shape and basically have to shield and disconnect. Use things like trees and rocks to “leapfrog” from cover to cover moving towards where you want to go.

– I do not use them much but get in the habit of using riotshields. I have seen many players instantly do a 180 jump and drop a shield while I am spraying them and it gives them both time to med up and look for better cover to run to.

– If possible always try to flank and hit players from behind rather than rushing into thier face. This will give much better chances of getting the kill and saves on meds from return fire.

– If you see little or no zombies around the outside of a town or city on the way in, there is probably a player in the area who has just recently cleaned them out. Use indicators like this or dropped/unloaded guns nearby to hunt for players that are close.

– If you see a Small Backpack on the ground than there is a player nearby. The Small Backpack is not in the loot tables and so you will only see them when a player finds a better bag and drops the small one.

– If you jump on an high area while being chased by a super zombie you can just hold the “SNEAK” button and walk right off the other side of the spot and the super will not follow you as long as you stay in sneak until out of walking distance from the super. There is a bug though where normal zombies can still hear you when sneaking as if you are walking normally so be careful of that.

– Never peak over the top of something when you can peak around the side of it. This helps stop players from headshotting you and makes it easier to move rather than having to crouch and pop up from behind a box or object.

– Always bring NVG (Night vision) into the map when it is dark if you have it. Without NVG you are basically dead on sight and will miss players standing right in front of you that can see you clear as day. It is absolutely worth using zombie dollars on NVG to save yourself from losing an entire bag of loot.

– If you are sniping never shoot more than 3 times from the same spot. If you get too afraid and camp the same area for too long another player will almost always come up behind you while you are trying to hit the initial player you shot at.

– If you get caught and feel like things are going south make sure to look behind you for cover that you can run/jump backwards to to get away from the other player. So many people get caught in the fight and end up dead when they could have just backed out and used the trees to get around the player and shoot them in the back while they push towards where they “think you are”.

– Don’t be afraid to disconnect as a new player. Yes, it is cheap and lame but the longer you stay alive the more experience you will get for PvP which will make you better at surviving overall. If you just get slaughtered every spawn you will most likely ragequit and never learn to overcome battles.

– As a solo I reccomend ALWAYS logging out if you see 2-3+ players in a group. I have a habit of not doing this and fighting which almost always ends in me dying. The third person mechanics of WarZ make it extremely hard to fight multiple players by yourself unless you are an accurate sniper.

– If you log in and another player is on top of you immediately disconnect. If your PC loads fast you will be able to leave the game before the spawn protection runs out and not have to fight a garbage spawn battle.

That’s all for now. Hopefully this helps some of you and keeps the new players in the game. I love slaying bambis but I also enjoy a challenge so maybe this will level the playing field a bit. 🙂
