Ravirens Night Queen Guide ~

Overview

A Guide to teach you the basics of the Night queen in the jungle.

Intro

Raviren here once again with a brand new guide this time featuring the Night Queen. As with my previous guides I’ll be outlining the basics with a bit of commentary on builds, skill and play style. Without further ado let us begin.

Queen of the North

The night queen is a powerful fighter/off tank that excels in soaking damage with her cat, as well as providing great single target damage on heroes with low maximum health. This combined with her on demand stun make her a great addition to the team. In this guide we’ll be focusing on her jungling play, with a STR/AGI build. Let’s jump into how stats affect her gameplay.

Health/Health Regeneration – While these stat are not emphasized on this build as much it is on other NQ builds they still has some importance as it affects her survivability. This is because both the NQ and her cat benefit from health/H.R, making her cat harder to kill gives you more time while invulnerable to kill their carries and allowing the cat to gain more health back while you roam. We mostly focus on this with secondary talent stats such as one that have both Strength and health/H.R.

Energy/Energy Regeneration – This is a stat that’s not really necessary on the NQ because you don not tend to spam spells, an early regen talent like genius or natural energy should be all you need in this category.

Strength – One of the two most important stats on the NQ, this not only helps your sustained damage but also help with the burst with your slashing throw ability. Most of your damage in teamfights will be coming from your auto attacks, this paired with unity will make auto attacks deal massive amounts of damage and quickly kill the intended targets.

Intellect – Some builds make use of this, however we will not be touching them in this guide. For the most part we will have no talents involving this.

Cunning – Not a bad stat on anyone per say as it affects your penetration, however agility also effects pen so we’ll be focusing on it.

Agility – The other most important stat on the NQ, we need this pump out more auto attacks allowing us to more quickly shred our targets down. Agility also affects your penetration so it makes the strength you built even more effective.

Stamina/Will – We basically won’t be touching this either as it’s not needed in this or pretty much any NQ build.

Speed – While Unity gives you increased speed, I recommend getting a speed talent as it has a noticeable effect on your movement speed.

Life Drain – This is slightly useful as it will restore cat health as well, though we won’t necessarily have a lot in this build we will have some as it’s a helpful survivability tool.

Pro v Con

Great single target damage
Almost impossible to kill with propper talents
Safe and easy jungling

Almost no AOE
Terrible laning
Very hard to control cat Properly

Skills

Slashing Throw – The heroine hurls her disc at the enemy, causing substantial damage as well as stunning the target. Her panther then violently attacks the targeted enemy for several seconds. After the girl learns Rebound, the disc bounces off of the target and strikes nearby enemies, dealing them damage as well.

Your bread and butter for both ganking and team fights, it allows you to completely lock down their carries in fights especially if you have someone to follow up on your stun such as a rumbler or shogun will allow you to CC lock your opponent and easily dispatch them. During ganks this will be your main initiation tool to reach the target. The rebound affect is useful in the jungle as quickly lowers large number camps very fast. An important thing to take note of is that this ability can kill trees.

Feed the Panther – The heroine places food on the ground for her panther, who immediately leaps to the heroine’s side and eats, replenishing his Health and Energy. After learning the Predator talent, the panther’s Health regen is increased.

This is how we sustain in the jungle, as your cat will tanking the damage for you you need to make sure he’s kept alive and this is how we do it. However once you reach the team fight phase this will solely be us to reposition your cat in fights as if he get’s caught out he will be quickly burst down. In this regard it’s advantageous to stand in a position where the cat is close to you as the jump animation is fairly long when the cat is coming to you.

Night Beast – This talent makes the panther larger and more dangerous. It will do increased damage on the first hit on a player affected by a Slashing Throw. On Native Terrain, the Agility of the heroine and her panther is increased. The Tireless Hunter talent decreases the cooldown time of the heroine’s class talents and the panther’s abilities.

A passive ability, it does noticably increase your burst and helps with your late game damage as well. The 10% CD reduction is also nice.

Unity – If the panther is dead she is resurrected recovering 25% of her health and mounting said panther, when the talent is active your character and cat become invulnerable to damage. Also increasing their speed and damage during the duration.

This is the talent that makes you a living terror in team fights, it doubles as a huge source of damage as well making you invincible for it’s duration. You should save the spell until after your cat dies the first time as the cat is resurrected after the duration has ended. This also couples as a really good chasing/running tool for ganks due to the speed increase.

One Blood – The heroine and her panther’s maximum Health is increased. The cat receives a greater increase than the girl. As long as the panther is still alive, the heroine is invulnerable, but the cat takes most of the damage the girl would receive. If the panther dies, it will soon regenerate, next to the heroine.

Your specific heroine passive, the cat upon death revives in 45 seconds. This also means however that AOE damage will effectively be doing 150% damage towards you so be careful of this.

Talents

Though this isn’t a final build it’s where I’m currently at right now and will update it as I get further.

The most important talent to not by far in this is shadow cover, this is by far the greatest talent for her and I highly recommend finding this before you start playing her as it’s essential in your late game fight rotation of skills which will be discussed later. Basically after a short duration your hero becomes invisible meaning you can re position while your cat is dead. Also another thing to take not of is auras effect both the cat and the girl mkaing them doubly effective.

Jungling

The number are the orders in which you do the camp. Ideally after the top camps are cleared you should grab the glyph marked by the diamond and gank either top or mid, the same logic should be applied to the bottom camps as well.

When you first start jungling don’t take a talent, instead while doing the first camp wait for advantage which is 350 prime, after the first camp grab feed the panther, after the second camp grab your stun, after the gold camp it’s up to you to decide where and how to gank. A lot of this will depend on the glyph available to you. In my opinion the invisibility and refresh glyphs are the best and if one spawns make sure to use it well.
