Introduction
Tales of Berseria is the 3rd Tales game on PC (4th if you count Eternia). It is connected to the world from the previous game Tales of Zestiria as it plays in the distant past of Tales of Zestiria, though you do not need to play Tales of Zestiria to understand the story from Tales of Berseria.
If you have played Tales of Zestiria and are worried about the achievements for Tales of Berseria, fear not as there are no luck-based snack making or difficulty-related defeating bosses achievements in this game. You can earn the majority of the achievements in Tales of Berseria by playing the game naturally while completing a few side quests. Beyond that, there are a few achievements that require grinding and which push the total time for 100% past the 100 hours mark, but there should not be anything overly difficult as you can play on lower difficulties and still earn the achievements (except for Easy difficulty).
All achievements for this game can be achieved in a single playthrough, but since there is an achievement for reaching level 200 and EXP progress in triple digits level is very slow, it is recommended to do this with two playthroughs using the Grade Shop for New Game+. The Grade Shop can give you a 6x multiplier for your second playthrough reaching the maximum level much, much faster.
A Promise Made (secret)
Proof a promise was made between the reaper and a fighter. You can be sure that promise will be fulfilled.
You will earn this achievement for clearing a side quest related to Zaveid. After unlocking the Last Dungeon, go to Tarieshin and approach the family located nearby the save point. After the scene, talk to the man and watch the skit that triggers when you go back towards the save point. Go to Reneed and talk to the man standing nearby the save point on the port side. Go to Port Cadnix and talk to the man inside the house nearby the pier. Go to the harbour in Hellawes and approach the two knights for a scene.
Afterwards, go to Gaiburk Icelands on the east side of Melshio and towards the separate dead-end on the south west. You will have a fight against Zaveid. Make sure you see his Mystic Arte for the Witness to the Mystic achievement . Return to Reneed after the following scene and talk to the woman at the north-east side. Go to the top platform in Altina Meadows and fight a battle against the dragon. Afterwards, return to the family in Tarieshin for a final scene and the achievement will unlock.
A Solid B
Bring all characters’ titles to level 2. You seem to have a pretty good grasp of what each character can do.
Raise all titles from all characters to level 2. This is one of the most time-consuming achievements in this game. A title is on level 2 when it has three skills unlocked out of four which you can in the equipment. Unlocked skills are colored in white. Every character has nineteen Standard Titles and four character exclusive titles, so 23 in total. Many of the titles will level up naturally over the course of the story and by clearing side quests, but there will very likely still be a few you have to pay attention to. When you play the game, look at the titles and their level up conditions, then you can work on them alongside working on the other achievements, especially stuff like using Mystic Artes or controlling different characters. The more you can cross off beforehand, the less of a grind you will have later when this achievement is one the last you still have to earn. Actions the CPU controlled characters do like for example using artes will count for this achievement.
Standard Titles
1. Level Title 1: Reach Level 40
2. Level Title 2: Reach Level 50
3. Level Title 3: Reach level 60
4. Basic Artes Title: Use basic artes 5,000 times
5. Advanced Artes Title: Use advanced artes 2,500 times
6. Break Soul Title: Use Break Souls 1,000 times
7. Mystic Arte Title: Use Mystic Arte 250 times
8. Controlled Character Title: Control character x 150 times in battle (300 times with Velvet)
9. Enemies Defeated Title: Defeat 2,500 enemies with character x
10. Combo Title: Defeat an enemy with at least 40 hits 40 times
11. Weakpoint Title: Hit an enemy’s weakness 500 times
12. Stun Title: Stun an enemy 50 times
13. Ailment Title: Get hit with an ailment 200 times (70 times with Laphicet, 100 times with Eizen)
14. Switch Blast Title: Use a Switch Blast with character x 50 times
15. Evasion Title: Avoid an attack from an enemy just in time 400 times
16. Soul Title: Crush 2,500 souls
17. tem Drop Title: Enemy who defeated dropped an item 200 times
18. Master Skill Title: Learnt 50 Master Skills
19. Equipment Title: Equipped equipment that have a combined strengthened amount of 30
Mystic Artes and Break Souls can be farmed easily with the mini game Slash Beat. You always start with 3 BG and have 15 seconds time to defeat the dummy enemy. Spam Break Souls and Mystic Artes as much as you can, then repeat the mini game. Counting 3 Mystic Artes per minute, you should get about 180 Mystic Arte counts in an hour.
For the Combo Title, you can also use the Slash Beat mini game, since you need to the 40 hits yourself. In regular battles, defeating enemies with 40+ hits does not always count since there may be hits from other characters. Magilou might be difficult to get even with the Slash Beat mini game, but you can use the Mystic Arte Chain with her Third Mystic Arte as the last one.
For the Weakpoint title, you have to hit every single weakness an enemy has for it to count, not just one weakness. For this, you also have to play on Normal Difficulty or above since the Weakness system is disabled on Easy difficulty. Many enemies have multiple weaknesses, so this is hard to get naturally. You can set in the Tactics that the CPU controlled characters always aim for weaknesses, but this is likely still not enough. There is a boar enemy in Gaiburk Icelands that only has the Beast attribute as weakness. You can set artes that have the Beast attribute and attack it. You do not have to defeat it for the hits to count, and you can attack it with the same arte over and over again to have more attacks. Set your game to Chaos difficulty to raise its HP and to be able to get more hits.
For the Enemies Defeated Title, you can clear Class 4 Administrative Zones over and over. Set your other party members to Defend so that they do not attack.
For the Evasion Title, set your characters to Defend and let the enemies attack you. The characters should avoid the attacks automatically.
For the Equipment Title, various combinations will count. For example if you have a weapon with +10, you need to split the remaining +20 on the other four pieces of equipment. You should focus strengthening rings and footwear since every character can equip them, so that you do not have to strengthen individual weapons so often that only count for one character.

A Veritable Gald Mine
Proof of doing whatever it takes in the pursuit of Gald. Don’t spend it all in one place! Unless you really want to.
Earn 20 million Gald cumulatively to earn this achievement. This is a huge amount of Gald, but it counts across multiple playthroughs. This should be one of the last achievements you will earn. The best way to earn Gald is beat the last Class 4 Administrative Zone over and over which is the one you can unlock once the Last Dungeon is unlocked. It is even more efficient to do on a second playthrough if you choose the option Double Gald in the Grade Shop for 700 Grade with which you earn the double amount of Gald after battles. You can see the amount of amassed Gald in the Records in the Library.
Backtalker (secret)
Defeat the dire foe, Bacturnian Man. You can walk away happy now.
See Hanging with the Hanged Man for more details on dire foes. The Bacturnian Man will appear in Tranquil Woods, Planaha Lake Shore Cliffs, Beild Swamps, and Morgana Forest.
Bee Stinger (secret)
Defeat the dire foe, Queen Bee. Discretion is the better part of valor, but failing to escape is just fate.
See Hanging with the Hanged Man for more details on dire foes. The Queen Bee will appear in Hexen Isle, The Charis, Paramides Sanctuary, Manan Waters, The Calix, and Makril Seashore.
Centurion
Perform a combo with 100 or more hits. Overwhelm your foe with artistic style!
To earn this achievement, perform a combo of 100 or more hits. Since the battle system is very combo-friendly, this might happen naturally during the course of the game. If you have not got this achievement yet by the time you beat the game, there is still a method though to get that many hits, and that method is the Mystic Arte Chain. You will need to have unlocked the third Mystic Arte of at least two characters, one of them Magilou. See Witness to the Mystic for how to unlock them, but it is easier if you have unlocked the third Mystic Arte of everyone.
Here is a 100 easy combo video =
Video Description basically says =
To use chain Mystic Artes
Hold L2(LT if using xbox controller) and use your Directional Pad for switching the characters
Champion of Berseria
Proof of conquering the world with Velvet and company. Thank you for playing! (all achievements)
Chef’s Soul
You can make any type of food. That’s pretty cool, right? Well, eat up and get back to battle!
Unlock all 30 recipes to earn this achievement. Unlike previous Tales games, you can now cook multiple recipes without having to fight battles in between, so it is possible now to level up your cooking level quickly as long as you have the ingredients available. Each character has their own cooking level with level 25 being the maximum. The cooking level is unrelated to achievements except for Velvet’s as you need to raise her cooking level to level 20 for the The Great Gorger achievement, so make it a habit to let her cook, especially if you set recipes to be used after battles.
There are four possibilities to obtain recipes:
4 recipes are learned story-related
1 recipe is obtained by a side quest. See Hope Surpassing Reason for details.
20 recipes are obtained by the Expedition, one from each isle. See Pirate Legend for details.
The remaining 5 recipes are obtained from treasure chests in the bonus dungeon. See Ultimate Stress Relief for details.
Code Red? More Like Code Dead (secret)
Proof of hunting every last code red daemon. You’ve brought an end to that battle.
Defeat all 31 daemons to earn this achievement. Daemons are strong enemies that appear with a violet aura in fields or dungeons. While most of them are freely defeatable at any time, some of them have to be defeated as part of a side quest. Daemons are marked with a large red dot on the map so you will find them easily. See the following list for the locations of the 31 daemons:
1. Hadlow Hollow: Bat Baron. Located at the north-western part of the whole first area. If you have the dungeon internal warp point activated, you will reach it easier from the end of the dungeon.
2. Danann Highway: Orc Kong. Part of the side quest needed to unlock the achievement Rangetsu Initiate.
3. Galles Lake Road: Echidna. From the exit to Danann Highway, take the northern transit to the next area. The daemon is located north.
4. Barona Catacombs: Pillbug. From B3F, take the most north-eastern way to B2F. Crawl through a hole in the wall on the right side to find the daemon in the following room.
5. Yvolg Ruins: Spider Queen. Going from the upper part to the middle part, turn right and then just go straight ahead. Turn right at the end again and transit to the next area where you will find the daemon in a dead-end.
6. Brigid Ravine: Horus. You will find the daemon at the most southern platform.
7. Vester Tunnels: Oroboros. From the entrance from Brigid Ravine, go to the next area north and then to the save point. Continue going north, but instead of transitioning to the next area west, crawl through the hole north instead. Follow the way and crawl through another hole where you will find the daemon at the dead-end.
8. Fens of Nog: Trickstar. Located on the isle at the south east. You will get there by hopping a few stones nearby the exit to Warg Forest.
9. Warg Forest: Evil Plantasm. Located at a dead-end in the most north-eastern area. You can deactivate the red barrier in front of the dead-end in the area located south.
10. Burnack Plateau: Breed Wolf. Located nearby the exit to Fens of Nog.

12. Makril Seashore: Harpy Go Lucky. Located at the southern platform at the eastern part of this field.
13. Manan Waters: Kraken. From the exit to Haria, take the northern transit. You will find the daemon then southeast.
14. Paramides Sanctuary: Gratny. Part of a side quest that is only available late in the game. In the tavern in Yseult, talk to a man sitting at a table. Afterwards, you can find the daemon in Paramides Sanctuary in the oval room in the centre.
15. Figahl Icecaps: Managarmr. Located at the most southern area.
16. Altina Meadows: King Peacock. Located at the south east in the big central area.
17. Daval Woods: Dryad. Located in the most western area. You will need the geoboard. At the beginning of this part, make sure to eat a red fruit by jumping on a few stone platforms at the dead-end to the north. Then continue to the dead-end at the north-west to find the daemon.
18. Planaha Lake Shore Cliffs: Dangeroma. Located northwest from the exit to Morgana Forest.
19. Morgana Forest: Behemoth. Located in the eastern part of this dungeon. In the middle area, there is a transition to a dead-end to the north. You will need the geoboard to have access.
20. Tranquil Woods: Full Metal Born. Located at the eastern part. Only available later in the game.
21. Beild Swamps: Millionpede. Located in the most north-eastern part at a dead-end behind a red barrier. The red glowing point to disable the red barrier is nearby. From the exit to Rionel Isle Pier, this is the fifth area you will get to when you always transit to the right (counting the starting area as area 1).
22. Titania: Succubus Queen. Located in the cells room on B2F. Only available later in the game.
23. Tranquil Woods: Phantom. Part of a side quest that is only available late in the game. In the port side of Yseult, talk to the cat. Then go to Tranquil Woods and examine the portal that appeared nearby the giant hole. In the new area, take the warp point that is nearby your entrance portal, then you will be in area with the daemon.
24. Foldis Ruins: Cattle Head King. Part of a side quest that is only available late in the game. In Hellawes, approach the two exorcists inside the church to overhear a conversation. Then go to Foldis Ruins and find the daemon in the last room in B2F.
25. Gaiburk Icelands: Spectral Crystal. Located in the south-western area of the parts east from Melshio. The daemon will reflect all damage. You can avoid this by setting the game to Easy difficulty.
26. Votigern: Lancelot. Part of the side quest needed to unlock the achievement Rangetsu Initiate .
27. Kiraraus Volcano: Titan. Located in the first fire area.
28. Zamar Cave: Deppuricchi. Part of the side quest needed to unlock the achievement Magilou’s Magnificent Menagerie .
29. Haria: Boss Troll. Part of the side quest needed to unlock the achievement Hope Surpassing Reason .
30. Hexen Isle: Demon Rodler. Located at the west side of the isle. You can unlock Hexen Isle after clearing the side quest for the achievement A Promise Made by approaching the two exorcists in Stonebery.
31. The Empyrean’s Throne: Ryumajin. Part of the side quest needed to unlock the achievement Rangetsu Initiate
Dawn of Darkness (secret)
Proof of witnessing and overcoming the dawn of darkness. But beware, for a turtle never forgetz.
You will earn this achievement for clearing a side quest related to the Dark Turtlez and the Normins. While you can collect the Normin Dolls earlier during the story, the rest of this side quest cannot be completed until after you have unlocked the Last Dungeon.
Collect four Normin Dolls that are lying around in various places:
Port Cadnix: The black Normin Doll is located on a wooden box next to the inn.
Foldis Ruins: In B1F, the red Normin Doll is located in the most north-western room at a dead-end next to a treasure chest.
Haria: The blue Normin Doll is located behind a wooden box with swords on it, located in the centre of the town.
Stonebery: The green Normin Doll is located in the raspberry field at the west side.
Go to Titania. If you cannot warp there, travel there by ship. In Titania, save and go towards the southern pier and you will have to fight a battle against Phoenix. Missable Mystic Arte alert! Phoenix has two Mystic Artes . One he uses regularly in battle and another one he uses when his HP drops to 0 to revive himself. It may happen that he does not revive himself at the end of the battle. In this case, you will miss the Mystic Arte and have to retry again in a new playthrough, so reload the save you made earlier. You need to see both Mystic Artes for Witness to the Mystic . If you are playing on a higher difficulty, it is likelier that he uses the Mystic Arte to revive himself, but it is still a chance that he uses it.
After the battle against Phoenix, return to the northern pier for another skit. Go to Danann Highway and talk to the White Turtlez located nearby the entrance to The Empyrean’s Throne. Go to Gaiburk Icelands and approach the White Turtlez located on a cliff in the field part located south-west of Melshio. After the scene, go to Tarieshin and talk to the Katz. You will need to have opened 38 Katz Chests or the Katz will not be there and you cannot continue this side quest. See Katz Person for the locations of the Katz Chests.
Once you have opened 38 Katz Chests, talk to the Katz that is located nearby the inn, but on a higher platform. From the save point, move up the stairs and then the stairs on the left. There is a ladder on the right side at the end of the small pause inbetween the two stairs. Climb it up and you will see the Katz standing on the right side. You will need the geoboard to reach it. Talk to the Katz twice in total and it will warp you to Katz Village.
In Katz Village, talk to the various Katz marked with an exclamation mark except for the Movie and Skit Viewer. Go to The Empyrean’s Throne and talk to the Katz who is located at the north-east upper platform. Return to Katz Village and be prepared for a battle. Approach the north-western area and the battle against the Dark Turtlez begins after a scene. Beware that Dark Turtlez has two Mystic Artes . One regular and one he may use when you use an item in battle. You have to see both for the Witness to the Mystic achievement. After the battle, the side quest is completed and the achievement will unlock.
Economic Linchpin
You buy. You sell. You strengthen equipment. A preferred customer like you is a mover, a shaker, and a genuine job creator.
Raise your shop level to level 15 to earn this achievement. You can raise the shop level with anything where you spend Gald or obtain Gald by selling. While level 15 does not sound much, it is actually a huge grind and requires millions of Gald, especially the raise from level 14 to level 15. See A Veritable Gald Mine for a method to farm Gald. If you do not want to lose all the Gald or not actually sell all your equipment, make a save and then spend all your Gald and sell all your stuff to see whether it is sufficient to reach shop level 15. Afterwards, reload the save.
Emergency Management (secret)
Proof of conquering every Class 4 Administrative Zone. Yeah, you can brag about this.
To earn this achievement, clear all 10 Class 4 Administrative Zones, which are the arenas in this Tales game. In an arena you have to fight a long battle against waves of enemies (about 30 in total). Unlike in Tales of Zestiria, you are not restricted to a single character, but can fight with your whole party.
Class 4 Administrative Zones are not unlocked from the start. You will unlock the first one story-related, but the other nine can only be unlocked by talking to various pirates in harbours with a green exclamation icon. They will also only available bit by bit as you progress the story, with the tenth arena only unlockable after beating the game.
Enough Monkeying Around (secret)
Defeat the dire foe, Sacred Baboon. Where’s the fun in being polite all the time?
See Hanging with the Hanged Man for more details on dire foes. The Sacred Baboon will appear in Altina Meadows, Barona Catacombs, Galles Lake Road, Zamar Cave, The Empyrean’s Throne, Danann Highway, Daval Woods, and Loegres Villa
Follower of the Creed (secret)
Proof Eizen has settled one score. But there are still payments to be made. That’s part of the creed.
You will earn this achievement for clearing a side quest related to Eizen. This side quest is available after clearing the second story-related visit of Loegres Villa. Go to Rionel Isle Pier and approach Benwick to trigger a scene. Then watch a skit that is related and Eizen will get his Color Variation Outfit along with this achievement.
Hanging with the Hanged Man (secret)
Defeat the dire foe, Hanged Man. You’ll always have a friend nearby.
Dire Foes are enemies that can appear after Eizen joins your party. When you finish a regular battle, the battle results screen will not appear, but instead you can move around, and the music will stop for a short while. The dire foe will appear after a few seconds. When this happens for the first time, you might think that the game glitches, but do not worry, it does not, so just wait until the dire foe appears. A dire foe will always spawn along with two invincible side enemies. As you cannot defeat these two, focus on the dire foe only and the battle will be over once you defeat it.
There are five types of dire foes and defeating each of them for the first time will net you a achievement respectively. There is a sixth dire foe that is only available on a second playthrough or afterwards, but except for its entrance in the enemy book it is not relevant for achievements. Dire Foes will only appear when you play on Normal difficulty or above, so make sure your game is not set to Easy when you look for them. The likelihood that a dire foe appears is increased the higher the difficulty you have set. It is also likelier if you are fighting in Dangerous Encounters by combining two or more enemies before initiating the battle (indicated by a dark aura below the enemies). Another factor is the Grade Bonus that increase for a short while after finishing a battle. If the Grade Bonus is 2.0, the likelihood is also higher than on a lower Grade Bonus.
To earn this achievement, defeat the dire foe Hanged Man. The Hanged Man will appear in Yvolg Ruins, Vester Tunnels, Votigern, Titania, Eastern Raban Cave, West Laban Tunnel, Fens of Nog, Brigid Ravine, Burnack Plateau, Earthpulse, and Warg Forest.
Grade Farming
Set your game to the highest difficulty you have unlocked as the higher the difficulty, the higher amount of Grade you will get upon defeating a dire foe. Save the game beforehand in case you are too weak, so figure out what works for you. The chance of encountering a dire foe is also increased with a higher difficulty.
The Lindwurm is the strongest of the five dire foes, so the best area to farm Grade is Figahl Icecaps. Bring up your Grade Bonus to 2.0 first, so avoid Dangerous Encounters for now. When you run out of enemies on the field, do not enter a town as the Grade Bonus will be gone otherwise. Enter Foldis Ruins instead, and then move back to Figahl Icecaps. Keep in mind that your Grade Bonus Gauge empties quicker the higher the Grade Bonus, so be aware of it or else the Grade Bonus is reset.
Once the Grade Bonus reaches 2.0, start to lure enemies so that you can initiate Dangerous Encounters. Enemies are stronger in Dangerous Encounters so beware. Continue doing Dangerous Encounters until a dire foe appears, then defeat it. If possible, use a Mystic Arte to defeat the dire foe to earn extra Grade. You will earn lots of Grade if neither you nor your party members died, if you did not use an item in battle, and if you are not affected with a negative status at the end of the battle. Once the battle against the dire foe is over, your Grade Bonus is reset, so save the game and restart the process. In the best case, you will earn hundreds of Grade after a battle against a dire foe.
If you die a lot in the battle against the dire foe or use (many) items, you can either set your difficulty down or just fight regular battles as the dire foe can appear in regular battles as well. You will just not get the bonus for the Dangerous Encounter. If you cannot get the most out of a battle against a dire foe, do not worry as it just means that you will have to repeat the process a few more times than with best results, until you have accumulated your desired amount of Grade.
Hope Surpassing Reason (secret)
Proof Eleanor found her answer. She sees with her own two eyes now, but where is her gaze fixed?
You will earn this achievement for clearing a side quest related to Eleanor. After unlocking the Last Dungeon, go to the inn in Melshio and you should see Medusa standing in front of it blocking the entrance. Approach her to start this side quest. During this side quest, you cannot warp to other places not related to this side quest, so they are blocked on the warp list. After talking to Medusa, go or warp to the Hellawes and take your ship to Yseult. Then go to Haria. You will to fight a boss fight against Boss Troll, so be prepared for a battle upon entering. This boss is also one of the 31 daemons you need to defeat for Emergency Management
After the battle, examine the sparkling point in the middle of the town. Return to Melshio and see another event nearby the town entrance. Go to Kiraraus Volcano and view another event at the second area. You will return to the inn in Melshio automatically. This achievement should unlock now along with getting Eleanor’s Color Variation outfit, but continue with the side quest. Go the other room in the inn and view another event by approaching Medusa and Moana. Go to the northern map in Melshio and talk to Dyle. Return to the inn and examine the sparkling point nearby the fireplace. Exit the inn and open the treasure chest behind the inn. You will reach it by jumping over small isles on the left side of the inn. You will get the recipe for Mabocurry Mon which is needed for Chef’s Soul . You can warp around freely again now and the side quest is completed.
I’ll Take My Board (secret)
Proof of unlocking every geotree. Can you do any sweet tricks on that thing?
After a certain point in the story, the geoboard will be unlocked. Activate your geoboard and you will move around much faster. The catch is that you have to step on a green glowing point once to unlock the geoboard for the area. It is shown as a green square on the mini map. Unfortunately, you have to do this again in subsequent playthroughs as there is no way to inherit the geoboard information in the Grade Shop. Therefore, you have to get them all in a single playthrough, though none of them are missable. You will have to do a lot of backtracking though due to how late you unlock it in the story.
To earn this achievement, you have to unlock the geoboard in every area. You can check in which areas you have activated the green glowing point by with the world map. The areas with unlocked geoboard are marked with a green square icon. The Class 4 Administrative Zones and the blue dream world do not have a glowing point. Normin Isle and Katz Village have a glowing point though, so you will need to unlock it there.
This is a list of locations ordered by the order from the world map list, and a short description where to find the glowing point. Remember that the glowing point is marked on the map with a green square.
1. Tarieshin – Located at the south-east in the main area.
2. Planaha Lake Shore Cliffs – Located in the area west from Morgana Forest on the west side. You have to climb up some tendrils to reach the glowing point.

5. Tranquil Woods – Located at the south in the western part.
6. Titania – Located at the northern pier.
7. Figahl Icecaps – Located southwest from the entrance to Hellawes.
8. Hellawes – Located north of the shops. You will have to follow the way from behind the most northern house to reach this glowing point.
9. Beardsley – Located nearby a tree northwest.
10. Hadlow Hollow – Located nearby the exit to Figahl Icecaps.
11. Foldis Ruins – Located in B1F in the north-eastern room.
12. Gaiburk Icelands – Located at the north-west in the western part of Melshio.
13. Melshio – Located nearby the single house in the higher up parts at the east side of the town. You have to take the long stairs at the south-east to reach it.

15. Reneed – Located at the east side of the west area.

Follow the way to reach an area with a portal. Take the door to the south and follow the way to reach the area with the green square. Destroy the big crystal to make new bridges and walk across the first one and you will find the green square in the middle of this area. It is basically unmissable on the way to clearing this dungeon.

Item Collector
Gels, equipment, food, costumes, valuables. From the powerful and precious to the downright weird, this is proof you’ve collected it all.
Obtain 855 of all items to earn this achievement. All kind of item including visual items, costumes, and glacites count for this achievement. You can see the amount of collected items in the Records in the Library. You should work on the side quest-related achievements first before worrying about this one. It is very likely you will not obtain this achievement even after clearing all side quests. Then you can check whether you have bought all items in the Tales Coins exchange menu. After obtaining all of these, check whether you have beat all kind of records in the various mini games.
Shops do actually sell a small amount of the whole weapon and equipment pool. There are many weapons and equipment which are only to obtain as a rare drop from enemies, or from treasure chests in the random room from the bonus dungeon. Before hunting specific enemies, try to abuse the random room system by always opening all 9 treasure chests in the treasure room from the random room part as detailed in the Ultimate Stress Relief achievement.
Weapons and equipment have a rarity number between 1 and 21. There is a weapon or equipment for each number, and for each character. You can find a list of obtained weapons and equipment in the Equipment Book in the Library and see whether you miss certain rarity numbers. If you miss a lot, you know that you have to hunt for equipment drops by defeating enemies. Then look into the Enemy Book in the Library and check out their drops whether it is a bunch of ???. In this case, you have not obtained the item yet and thus will count towards this achievement.
Here is a video on how to get all the Alt costumes/geoboard skins incase you are having problems –
Katz Person (secret)
You must really love katz to have collected so many katz spirits! That’s the spirit, meow!
Open all 58 Katz Chests to obtain this achievement. You can see the amount of opened Katz Chests in the Records in the Library. You will open the first Katz Chest related to the story, so with a few exceptions, you can expect every field, dungeon, and town to have one afterwards. You need to collect the various Katz Spirits to be able to open Katz Chests. Luckily they respawn upon entering a location again, so they are infinite to collect. You will need a total of 11,580 Katz Spirits to open all of them so that is quite a lot, and most likely than you will collect naturally during the course of the story. Katz Chests do get more expensive to open, so prioritize to open the Katz Chests in dungeons firsts, then fields, and last towns. Reason is that you can warp to towns at any time, while it will take longer to clean them up in dungeons.
Know Thine Enemy
Proof of earning untold wisdom through defeating countless foes in battle after battle. There’s no weakness you can’t exploit.
There are 278 types of enemies in this game and you need to defeat 265 of them to earn this achievement which is about 95%. You will definitely not get this by just following the main story, but doing all Class 4 Administrative Zones for the Code Red? More Like Code Dead achievement, defeating all daemons for the Emergency Management achievement, and clearing the bonus dungeon for the Ultimate Stress Relief achievement should be enough new enemies to unlock this achievement. You can see the amount of defeated enemy types in the Records in the Library or in the enemy book.
Magilou’s Magnificent Menagerie (secret)
Proof that Magilou’s Menagerie performed perfectly. A capacity crowd! A standing ovation! No refunds!
You will earn this achievement for clearing a side quest related to Magilou. This is a pretty long side quest. You do not need to do the individual parts immediately as you can’t complete the whole side quest until after you have unlocked the Last Dungeon, so you can start it all in one go then, but that is up to you.
After clearing the dungeon Paramides Sanctuary, go to Loegres. In the most northern area, approach a bunch of people on the east side to see a scene. Then you have to trigger five scenes in five different towns, of which some are only available after unlocking the Last Dungeon.
Port Zekson: Talk to the man who stands just south of the save point nearby the pier.
Hellawes: Inside the tavern, talk to the man standing nearby the barrels.
Yseult: Inside the tavern, talk to the man sitting behind the ladder.
Tarieshin: Talk to the old man standing nearby the fountain.
Stonebery: Talk to the man standing nearby the stump.
After viewing all five scenes, return to Loegres where you triggered the initial scene and talk to the old man standing nearby the tree. Then head to Zamar Cave and you will have to fight a battle against a daemon shortly after entering the dungeon. Afterwards, there will be an event after which the achievement will unlock.
Making a Mint
You’ve earned Tales Coins by relaxing and playing. Who knew they’d pile up like this?
Collect 200,000 Tales Coins cumulatively to earn this achievement. You can earn Tales Coins by beating the various Mini Games that are available throughout the world or from sparkling points in the fields and dungeons. You can see the amount of amassed Tales Coins in the Records in the Library. While there are many Mini Games, you should play all of the Mini Games at least once. You can obtain unique items like costumes by beating records in various Mini Games, and also by exchanging your Tales Coins in the exchange menu you can access by talking the Katz and people who offer Mini Games.
By the time you beat the game, you are far from having obtained 200,000 Tales Coins for this achievement (unless you played a lot). There is one great Mini Game to farm Tales Coins and that is Slash Beat which you can play in Hellawes. In this Mini Game you have to deal as much damage as possible within 15 seconds on a dummy enemy. Whenever you beat the highest score, you will earn lots of Tales Coins. The maximum damage can exceed 1 million when you are level 100 and you can earn about 1,500 Tales Coins. The actual problem is beating the high score. Simply beating the Mini Game will net you low amounts of Tales Coins. To be able to make a new high score frequently, you should combine farming this with levelling up to level 200 for the The Last Level achievement. When you level up, you will get stronger and thus making the same combo as before will make more damage and thus a new high score.
The best character suited for this is Eizen. You can get great results with Velvet and Laphicet as well. The basic principle is to stun the enemy, then use Break Soul artes, and finally a Mystic Arte which you pull off just before the timer hits 00’00″00. Here is a video of Eizen in the Slash beat Challenge =
A good example combo for Eizen is:
Eleventh Hour -> Eleventh Hour -> Verdict -> Deceiving Pummel -> Eleventh Hour -> Eleventh Hour -> Verdict -> Deceiving Pummel -> Break Soul 1 -> Break Soul 2 -> Break Soul 3 -> Mystic Arte (Third Level)
Miraculous Myriad
Inflict 10,000 or more damage with a single hit. Use Break Soul combos, increased damage from stuns, and various skills.
To earn this achievement, deal 10,000 or more damage with a single hit. The total damage for your combo that is on the top right section on the screen in battle does not count. Dealing 10,000 damage may sound difficult at the beginning, but later in the game, it is pretty easy to do with Mystic Artes, especially when you use them when an enemy is stunned. You should get this naturally while working on other achievements.
Pirate Legend (secret)
Proof of sailing every water and discovering every treasure. There’s no stone in this world you’ve left unturned.
After arriving in Port Zekson, you will see a story-related event after which you can send your ship to the various isles around the world and obtain treasure for you. If you have played Tales of Xillia 2, you will be familiar with the concept as it works exactly like the Rollo Search from that game. Select an isle you want to have treasure from and you have to wait 30 minutes. Once the time is up, your ship will return and bring you items or treasure in varying amounts depending on how well it went. The Expedition can also level up and unlock new areas you can send your ship to. You cannot sail to these isles yourself as they are only there for the Expedition.
Once the time is up, you will get notified on the regular screen, so you do not need to wait in the menu for the ship to come back. As you level up your Expedition level, you will also learn skills for the ship which for example increase the chance to obtain rare items. Sometimes, the time of 30 minutes can also be reduced to 20 or 15 minutes if you are lucky. The time for the ship to come back is in real time It is easier to just do the Expedition while you continue playing the game normally as you will definitely complete the list before earning all other achievements, as long as you send the ship constantly. Make it a habit to send the ship immediately again after it returns.
There are 20 isles and you have to find the special treasure on each of them to unlock this achievement. You do not have to fully complete the item list for the achievement, just the special treasure. You can view your currently obtained treasures in the treasure room from the ship menu. Even if you have earned the achievement, you can still send the ship to the various isles, and you should do it at least until you completed all of them as you can also get unique equipment and costumes from it which is important for the Item Collector achievement, and also recipes which is important for the Chef’s Soul achievement.
Potentite Purist
Collect every glacite. The power is in your hands!
Glacites are collectible items that unlock permanent skills and features once you have obtained, for example increasing your walking speed or indicating the remaining number of treasure chest in the current area. There are 81 glacites in total and you need to collect them all to earn this achievement. Glacites are obtained story-related, as drop for defeating daemons (see Emergency Management ), clearing Class 4 Administrative Zones ( Code Red? More Like Code Dead ), defeating all five dire foes (see Hanging with the Hanged Man and the other four dire foe achievements ), raising your shop rank to level 6, defeating bosses in the Bonus Dungeon (see Ultimate Stress Relief ), as drop for defeating the bosses from the other story-related side quests, and dismantling a weapon or equipment that has been strengthened 10 times (so a +10 in their name).
So basically, you will work on this achievement while working on the others. Only the dismantle glacite is an extra one that is not obtained naturally by doing all the side quests, so if you do not want to lose the +10 weapon, save before dismantling and then reload after obtaining the glacite (and hopefully this achievement with that glacite as being your last one to obtain).
Rangetsu Initiate (secret)
Proof of conquering masters of the sword. Rokurou’s skills have reached their zenith.
You will earn this achievement for clearing a side quest related to Rokurou. This is a long side quest involving multiple fights. You do not need to do the individual parts immediately as you can complete the whole side quest until after you have unlocked the Last Dungeon, so you can start it all in one go then, but that is up to you.
During the main story events in Loegres and Danann Highway, there will be a skit about a powerful discovery pointing at a daemon. This daemon is Orc Kong. In the section between Port Zekson and Loegress, after leaving Port Zekson, take the eastern transit to the next field part and you will find it. Defeat the daemon.
In the harbour part of Reneed, there is a group of three NPCs between the piers and the wooden bridge towards the town. They will not be there when you arrive at this town the first time story-related, so do not bother searching them then. After you have unlocked the geoboard, you can continue with this side quest. Approach these three NPCs and they will talk about a monster in Eastern Raban Cave. In this dungeon, defeat the daemon Serket that is at the end of the dungeon. While you are here, do not forget to unlock the geoboard for this area and also get the Katz Chest.
In Port Cadnix, talk to the two sitting NPCs in the inn. This part is available after arriving in Tarieshin. Go to Votigern and then to the upper platform on the east side. Defeat the daemon Lancelot.
After unlocking the Last Dungeon, go to Loegres and talk to Tabatha in the inn. Head to The Empyrean’s Throne and defeat the daemon Ryumajin which is located on the upper platform at the east side. Afterwards, head back to the inn in Loegres and watch the scene. You will get Rokurou’s Color Variation outfit and the achievement will unlock.
Refreshing Conversation
The main story is nice and all, but it’s important to stop and smell the roses. You’ve learned some surprising things, haven’t you?
View 435 skits to earn this achievement. Skits are optional conversations between the characters either with comments to story events or just funny conversations. There are 457 skits in total so you need to see about 95% of the skits. Unlike in Tales of Zestiria, skits can pop up at any time and not just on save points. If a skit is available, you will see a note at the lower right section of the screen and you can activate it by pressing .
Finishing the main story is not enough for this achievement. There will also appear many skits for the side quests, so get all the achievements related to side quests and view their skits. Check the towns for any green exclamation marks as they can not only trigger optional conversations, but also new skits. If you still have not got this achievement by then, there is a possibility to watch skits you have not seen yet. You have to clear the bonus dungeon for that (see Ultimate Stress Relief for details on the bonus dungeon). Then you can unlock missed skits in the Skit Viewer in Katz Village for 500 Katz Spirits each.
You can see the amount of viewed skits in the Records in the Library.
Shattered Soul
Proof of using every Break Soul. Use this unique power wisely and you’ll be able to overcome any foe.
Break Souls are special artes that every party member can activate. You will need at least 3 SG to activate it and a Break Soul will consume 1 SG. To earn this achievement, you have to use every single Break Soul at least once in battle. You can check their usage amount in the artes menu for each character. Break Souls the CPU uses do count for this achievement.
The characters will learn more Break Souls by levelling up. Every character has one additional Break Soul which is basically their ultimate Break Soul. Using it is needed to activate their third Mystic Arte. You will find them alongside their Mystic Arte, so see Witness to the Mystic / Unlocking the third Mystic Artes for how to unlock them.
Soul Vacuum
Collect 20 or more souls in a single battle. Seek out dangerous fights and crush the reinforcements!
Souls refer to the blue rhombuses that each character has and are needed for combos. Collect 20 or more of them in one battle to earn this achievement. You gain souls mostly by stunning enemies which is easy to do in this game since the whole battle system is focused on it. It’s very likely you will earn this achievement without even trying as one of your first achievements. If for some reason you still have not unlocked the achievement by the time you beat the game, go to any Class 4 Administrative Zone and beat it, as there will be many enemies so you have more chances to gain souls.
Striding Beyond the End (secret)
Proof of defeating visitors from another world. They will travel on, though, as long as their mission remains.
You will earn this achievement for clearing a side quest related to the cameo battle with two characters from another Tales game. To be able to start this side quest, you need to have unlock at least 15 areas in the Expedition and see related skits. Then you are able to visit Normin Isle later which is needed to clear this side quest. Normin Isle can be unlocked by talking twice to the pirate at the port side of Yseult who stands nearby your ship captain. He will only appear when you met the unlocking conditions.
After unlocking the Last Dungeon, go inside the inn in Yseult and talk to the woman next to the inn keeper. Then the inn keeper should get a green exclamation mark, so choose to sleep. You will then go outside at night. Approach the penguin that is located on the way to Makril Seashore. You will have to a fight a battle against Jude. Make sure you see his Mystic Arte for the Witness to the Mystic achievement.
Afterwards, go to Tarieshin and talk to the man standing in front of the church. Go to the most southern field in Figahl Icecaps and approach the penguin to trigger a scene. You will have to a fight a battle against Milla. Make sure you see her Mystic Arte for the Witness to the Mystic achievement.
After beating the game, a Katz will appear on the bridge at the port side of Reneed. Talk to the Katz and warp to Normin Isle. Then go to the top of the isle. Be prepared for a battle against Jude & Milla. Beware that they have a new Dual Mystic Arte that you must see for the Witness to the Mystic achievement. Both of them have to be still alive or else they cannot trigger their Dual Mystic Arte. They can also use their single Mystic Arte in this battle, so this is another chance to see it if you have missed it in one of the previous battle. It is easier when you already saw it and just concentrate on seeing the Dual Mystic Arte. After finishing the battle and the following scene, the achievement will unlock.

The Great Gorger (secret)
Proof Velvet has relearned the culinary artes. Her Culinary Mystic Arte? Quiche, of course.
You will earn this achievement for clearing a side quest related to Velvet’s special recipe which you can clear once you have unlocked the Last Dungeon. The special recipe is House Crowe’s Special Quiche and you will learn it at some point during the story. Velvet’s cooking level needs to reach level 20 before you can clear this side quest. Unlike previous games, you do not need to fight battles between cooking so this will save a lot of time, though you can set recipes to be cooked after battles to level up while you work on other things in this game.
There will be a special skit once you have reached cooking level 10 and you will receive Velvet’s Jacket Off costume for viewing it. Once you have reached cooking level 20 with Velvet, cook this recipe once again and a skit related to Quiche should pop up. Make sure to view it. Then go to the inn in Melshio and see an event involving the two dogs. You need to clear Eleanor’s side quest needed for Hope Surpassing Reason first before you can trigger the event with the dogs, so do all the events for that achievement first. Afterwards, the event with the dogs should trigger along with this achievement. You can see another event in this town with the two dogs after seeing the previous event to be completely done with this side quest.
The Hero’s Bane (secret)

The Last Level
Raise a character to level 200. There’s nothing that can challenge you now… Or is there?
To earn this achievement, you have to raise the level of a character to maximum which is level 200. This will take a long time if you are trying this to do on your first playthrough. With the Grade Shop options Double Experience and Triple Experience for 700 Grade and 3,000 Grade respectively, you can play a second playthrough with 6x EXP activated making it much faster to get to level 200. You earn by far the most experience points from bosses. Luckily, the bosses in the Bonus Dungeon are repeatable, so you can defeat the boss from the first floor over and over. Once you have defeated it, warp back outside the bonus dungeon and re-enter it. Warp to the first floor, clear the random room and then you can defeat the first boss again. See Ultimate Stress Relief for more details on the bonus dungeon.
The Lindwurm Turns (secret)
Defeat the dire foe, Lindwurm. Did you ever think that maybe you’re the real dire foe?
See Hanging with the Hanged Man for more details on dire foes. The Lindwurm will appear in Gaiburk Icelands, Kiraraus Volcano, Last Dungeon, Hadlow Hollow, Figahl Icecaps, and Foldis Ruins.
The Praying Malak (secret)
Proof of creating the Omega Elixir. Laphicet now has something more precious than any item.
You will earn this achievement for clearing a side quest related to Laphicet. This is a long side quest in which you have to collect five recipes for the Omega Elixir. You do not need to do the individual parts immediately as you can complete the whole side quest until after you have unlocked the Last Dungeon, so you can start it all in one go then, but that is up to you.
In Reneed, approach the two kids and the dog who are nearby a house at the north of the town. This side quest is not immediately available when you arrive in Reneed for the first time, but soon after doing a few story events in that part of the continent. After talking to them, go towards the inn to trigger a scene. Go to the depths of Vester Tunnels and examine the turquoise crystal to trigger a scene. Afterwards, head back to Reneed and talk to the kid nearby the inn.
After obtaining the geoboard, you can continue the side quest by going to Figahl Icecaps and examining the sparkling point at the east side on the secret way to Hellawes. Return to Reneed and talk to the kid nearby the inn again. Afterwards, head to the eastern part of Galles Lake Road. If you started this side quest later in the game, head to Beild Swamps instead and go to the most north-eastern area. Examine the sparkling point that is at the far back at the north-east. After getting the item in either Galles Lake Road or Beild Swamps, return to Reneed and talk to the woman in front of the inn.
After unlocking the Last Dungeon, go to Daval Woods that is located north of Altina Meadows on the eastern side. In this dungeon, you have find trees and eat certain colored fruits from them to be able to progress through the respectively colored barriers. While you are here, make sure to get the Katz Chest, unlock the geoboard in this area and also defeat the daemon. Make it to the end of this area at the north-east and watch the scene. Head back to Reneed afterwards and talk to the woman in front of the inn after which the achievement will unlock.

Story-related, cannot be missed.
At some point of the story, you will have to return to the prison. This will unlock during the events that take place there.
The Stone-Cold Killer
Proof Velvet knows 50 or more skills. She’ll do whatever she has to in the pursuit of her goal.
This achievement refers to a master skill of a weapon or equipment. When you equip them, you will need to fight a certain amount of battles until the character has mastered the skill which means the skill is learnt permanently and not just enabled when you have equipped the weapon/equipment. You can see a list of already learnt skills in the equipment menu. Whenever a character has mastered a skill, it will be indicated by a star on the character icon if you select the weapon/equipment, so you can see easily who of your characters have learned the skill and who not, either in your equipment menu or in shops.
To earn this achievement, learn 50 skills with Velvet. If you change equipment as soon as you have learnt the skill, and switch them between the characters, you should get this achievement by the time you reach the Last Dungeon. If not, check the shops for new equipment or hunt for unique equipment from enemy drops alongside working on other achievements for side quests or in the bonus dungeon.

Treasure Hunter
An award given to those who find treasure chests and open them. The contents don’t matter. It’s all for the thrill of pulling back that lid.
Open 290 treasure chests to earn this achievement which is about 95% of all treasure chests. There is a glacite which will indicate your remaining amount of unopened treasure chests in your current area and you can obtain it by defeating the daemon in Brigid Ravine. Katz Chests and treasure chests in the Bonus Dungeon do not count for this achievement. You can see the amount of opened treasure chests in the Records in the Library. It’s important to note that in order for the chests to count you have to actually loot them once. If a chest has an item you are currently full on you just need to click abandon for it to count towards the achievement.
Ultimate Stress Relief (secret)
Proof of relaxing to the max in an unusual bath. The relief has washed away all memories of clearing the hidden dungeon.
After beating the game, load the clear data. In Danann Highway nearby to the entrance to The Empyrean’s Throne, there is a Katz. Talk to him for a scene. Go to Kiraraus Volcano to the second area inside the volcano, where a new fire portal appeared located nearby the Katz Chest. Do not forget to activate the new teleporter that also appeared nearby. Make sure you have at least 100 Katz Spirits before proceeding. Enter the portal. Follow the way until you are at the top of the volcano and enter the portal there.
You will now be in a small room with three Katz. Do not immediately touch the big dark aura. Instead, touch all the small thorny dark auras around the big dark aura, including the appearing auras when you get nearby. Once you have touched all of them and they disappeared, touch the big dark aura. When you have finished the battle, there will be a time limit. Within this time limit, you have to touch the three newly appeared small dark auras and fight their battles. The time limit will continue during the battle. If there were any thorny auras left, you would get a time penalty for touching them, which is why you removed them all beforehand. If the time limit reaches 0 before you could finish all battles from the small dark auras, you will have to try again.
Once you cleared this room, a new portal will appear. Enter this portal and talk to the Katz in the following room. Make sure you select the option to make a warp point here so that you can come back later. This will cost you 100 Katz Spirits, but the shortcut will come in handy later. Use the warp point to return to the first room of the dungeon and save. Warp back to the first floor and enter the portal. Now the actual Bonus Dungeon begins.
When you enter the portal, a random room from the following list appears:
A room full of Katz Spirits, about 400. This is useful for the Katz Person achievement.
A room with 9 treasure chests, with random content. This is useful for the Item Collector achievement.
A room with enemies, in different variations of room layouts. Random treasure chests may also be in this room, but not as many as in the random room with the 9 treasure chests.
It is possible to warp out at any time. You can abuse it to get a result you want for this random room. Warp back out to the entrance of Kiraraus Volcano, go back inside the dungeon, use the warp point to warp back to the current floor you are in (or any previous floors), check what room you get after continuing. Then you can warp back out or proceed.
After clearing this random room on the first floor, a boss will appear in the next room. Defeat it and proceed to the next room. Here is a Katz where you can buy a warp point for 100 Katz Spirits.
The following five floors all work the same. After the room with the Katz where you can buy the warp point, a random room from the list above appears. After clearing the random room, a room with the layout from another part of the world appears where you have to activate a time limit by touching the big dark aura, and then clearing all small dark auras within the time limit. This is what you had to do at the beginning of this bonus dungeon, so you will know how it works. Clear the area of all thorny auras and possibly all enemies first before touching the big dark aura. After clearing the time limit, a boss room will appear. Defeat the boss and you will be on the next floor starting with a Katz where you can buy a warp point for 100 Katz Spirits, which you should definitely do. So in short:
Warp Point Room -> Random Room -> Aura Room -> Boss Room.
The Aura Rooms are fixed in the amount of treasure chests and the position of the auras and treasure chests. Each Aura Room has one recipe you can collect, so make sure you get it since it is important for the Chef’s Soul achievement.
The Aura Room that looks like it is from Yvolg Ruins: The treasure chest with the recipe for Minestrone is located in the western room. 4 small auras can be found here.
The Aura Room that looks like it is from Altina Meadows: The treasure chest with the recipe for Soft Cream is located at the dead-end north-north-west. 6 small auras can be found here, one of them on the top platform.
The Aura Room that looks like it is from Louraine: The treasure chest with the recipe for Seafood Pizza is located in the central room. 6 small auras can be found here.
The Aura Room that looks like it is from Hexen Isle: The treasure chest with the recipe for Oden is located at the north-east from your starting point. 5 small auras can be found here.
The Aura Room that looks like it is from The Empyrean’s Throne: The treasure chest with the recipe for Seafood Bowl is located at the central part behind the big dark aura. 7 small auras can be found here, 3 of them in the upper part.
Upon defeating the sixth boss, you will be at the end of the bonus dungeon. After watching the following scene, this achievement will unlock.
Velvet Crowe (secret)
Proof of seeing the end of the tale. Now you can go another round or aim at completion!
Story-related, cannot be missed.
You will earn this achievement after defeating the final boss and thus beating the game.
Whetstone and Polish
You’ve strengthened equipment 50 times. You seem to have the hang of this. Now go out there and make the best equipment possible!
Strengthen equipment 50 times to earn this achievement. You can do this in any shop after you have reached a certain point in the story. You can get the required materials from random sparkling spots in the dungeons and fields, from enemy drops after battles, or from dismantling other equipment. Strengthened equipment is indicated by + and a number. You will get more materials when dismantling equipment with a higher number.
Witness to the Mystic
Proof of seeing every mystic arte. Luck is also a talent.
MISSABLE!
View every single Mystic Arte from both enemies and allies to earn this achievement. While you can pull off your party members’ Mystic Artes at any time, you only have one chance for the enemies as once you have finished their battles and missed to see their Mystic Arte, you have to try again on another playthrough to see it. Fortunately, you do not have to see all Mystic Arte within a single playthrough, so any Mystic Arte you already saw will count as seen when you start a new playthrough with New Game+. There is no ingame checklist for this achievement, so you have to note down yourself which you have seen already.
Mystic Artes from Enemies
Like in the previous Tales game, regular enemies do not have a Mystic Arte, so it is only relevant in boss fights. You will know when bosses start having Mystic Artes as the first one you will see is story-related and cannot be missed. Not every boss afterwards has a Mystic Arte. Even when you play on Normal difficulty, chances are that they will use their Mystic Arte at least once, even more especially on higher difficulties. So they are not highly missable. As a general rule of thumb, they start using them when they have about 50% of their HP left.
Mystic Artes from Story-Related Bosses
All bosses have only one Mystic Arte except for one boss, for which Rokurou has either to be in the active party or in the reserves. This is the boss fight in the volcano. See the spoiler for a list of the story-related bosses
* The Empyrean’s Throne: Artorius
* Kadniks Harbour: Shigure
* Beild Swamps: Teresa
* Beild Swamps: Oscar
* Beild Swamps: Aifreed
* Kiraraus Volcano: Shigure. Caution: There are two variations of the Mystic Arte, one with Rokurou in the party and one with Rokurou in the reserves. See them both.
* Kiraraus Volcano: Melchior
* Last Dungeon: Artorius
* Last Dungeon: Innominat
* Last Dungeon: Armatasized Artorius
Mystic Artes from Side Quest Bosses
There are also bosses in side quests and of course you have to see their Mystic Artes as well for this achievement.
Titania: Phoenix . See Dawn of Darkness for the side quest details. Caution: This boss has two Mystic Artes, one of which is a highly missable Mystic Arte. One he uses regularly in battle and another one he uses when his HP drops to 0 to revive himself. It may happen that he does not revive himself at the end of the battle. In this case, you will miss the Mystic Arte and have to retry again in a new playthrough, so reload the save you made earlier. If you are playing on a higher difficulty, it is likelier that he uses the Mystic Arte to revive himself, but it is still a chance that he uses it.
Katz Village: Dark Turtlez . See Dawn of Darkness for the side quest details. Caution: This boss has two Mystic Artes. One regular and one he uses after you use an item in the battle.
Gaiburk Icelands: Zaveid . See A Promise Made for the side quest details.
Yseult: Jude . See Striding Beyond the End for the side quest details.
Figahl Icecaps: Milla . See Striding Beyond the End for the side quest details.
Normin Isle: Jude&Milla . They have a dual Mystic Arte in this battle, so make sure you see it before you kill either of them. See Striding Beyond the End for the side quest details.
Mystic Artes from Party Members
Each party member has three Mystic Artes and there are three special Dual Mystic Artes. You will unlock the first level of Mystic Artes over the course of the story. The second level of Mystic Artes will be learned by a regular level up, when the characters are about level 35. The third level of Mystic Artes are not so easy to obtain and are covered in a separate section at the bottom of the guide. The three special Dual Mystic Artes are all obtained in the bonus dungeon, by defeating the bosses on floor 2, 4, and 6.
If a character controlled by the CPU triggers a Mystic Arte, it will count for this achievement.

Unlocking the Third Mystic Artes
You can find the necessary items to unlock the third Mystic Arte in the last dungeon. For this, you will need to collect special colored orbs and set them into the same colored portals. Then you can warp to a small area where you have to fight a boss. Defeating this boss will unlock one of the items for one character.
For the description of how to find the orbs and portals, I have used the labelling of Outer Area and Inner Area. The Outer Area’s surrounding is colored in blue, while the Inner Area’s surrounding is colored in violet. You will know what I mean when you play through the dungeon.
Outer Area Hub – The area you reach after using the initial warp point after entering the dungeon. This hub has two warp points in the middle, the first one you came from and the second one to reach the Inner Area. Then you have five more warp points: Two at the top section, two at the bottom section and a fifth one at the northwest.
Colors of the orbs and portals:
Red – Laphicet
Yellow – Eizen
Blue – Eleanor
Green – Rokurou
White – Magilou
Violet – Velvet
Yellow Orb – In the Outer Area Hub, use the left warp point in the top section. Head to the right and jump over small platforms three times. Use the warp point that is below and you will end up at a dead-end with a treasure chest and this orb.
Red Orb – In the Outer Area Hub, use the left warp point in the lower section. Head to the south-east warp point by walking up the platforms in front of you, but do not use it. The orb is located at the dead-end in front of you when the warp point is located to the left side.
Green Portal – In the Outer Area Hub, use the right warp point in the lower section. Then walk to the south-west area, jumping over a small platform two times. Alternatively, use the left warp point in the lower section and then head to the south-east warp point by walking up the platforms in front of you. Use this warp point when you reach and then walk straight ahead.
Red Portal – Located in the Inner Area. From the Spiral part heading further inside, follow the way until you are back in the Inner Area. Walk over the two green bridges and use the door to the left. Follow the way to reach the area with this portal to the north.
White Orb – The geoboard is needed to reach this orb. From the Spiral part of the Inner Area heading further inside, follow the way until you are back in the Inner Area. Walk over the two green bridges and use the warp point to the right. Then use the first door straight ahead to reach the area with the orb. If the warp point is not available, use the door to the left. Follow the way to reach an area with a portal. Take the door to the south and follow the way to reach the Inner Area again. Do not cross the yellow bridge, but instead use the door to your left to reach the area with the orb. The orb is located to the north by jumping over with the geoboard.
Yellow Portal – The geoboard is needed to reach this portal. In the Outer Area Hub, use the single warp point that is not on a separate section. Then use the warp point north-west to reach the part with the portal. If you have not unlocked the warp point from the hub yet, use the left warp point in the lower section. Walk up one platform and then use the geoboard on your right to reach the next platform. Follow the way and use the warp point to the north. Use the warp point to the north west to reach the part with the portal.
Blue Portal – The geoboard is needed to reach this portal. The portal is located on the right side after walking through the door from the Spiral part of the Inner Area heading further inside.
Green Orb – Go to the part of the Inner Area with the yellow bridge. There is a hole in the ground located at the south-west of this area after crossing the yellow bridge. Jump through this hole and the orb is located right next to you.
Inoph Bottle – Not needed for the Witness to the Mystic achievement, but useful in general. Go to the part of the Inner Area with the yellow bridge. There is a hole in the ground located at the south-west of this area after crossing the yellow bridge. Jump through this hole and through another hole after following the way. The Bottle is inside a treasure chest on the way to the third hole.
White Portal – Go to the part of the Inner Area with the yellow bridge and cross the violet bridge at the south-east to reach the door that heads further inside. Follow the way and you will reach the area with the portal in the south.
Violet Portal – From the area with the White Portal, take the door to the east and follow the way. You will need the geoboard as you will have to jump with it two times.
Blue Orb – From the area with the White Portal, take the door to the west and follow the way until you are back inside the Inner Area. The orb is located on the right side on the section in the north with the door and the warp point. You will have to destroy the red crystal in this area on the east side first to be able to reach this section.
Violet Orb – From the area with the White Portal, take the door to the west and follow the way until you are back inside the Inner Area. Walk through the door that is located on the section in the north. Afterwards, you will find the orb on the right side after jumping on the platform.
Unlocking Enhancement Rank 10
For those of you who are trying to figure out how you unlock enhancement level 10 for your gear it is important to note that just playing through the story will not unlock this. If you just do the story you will unlock up to rank 9. In order to get rank 10 unlocked you need to work on the Striding Beyond The End achievement. You do not need to complete the achievement however. Once you beat Milla for the first time she’ll drop the Grandmaster Smith’s Acerite. Which is what will unlock rank 10 enhancements.
