Overview
A brief guide about 3D Noah’s Ark enemies
Introduction
Hello guys! I know this guide could not be very useful, but i really liked this game and I wished to contribute to it, so here I am, talking about the thing I loved the most about the game: the animals!
Goat
Goats are very common enemies, appearing very often in the game, and the only enemy that can’t open doors. You are alerted of their presence due to the loud bleat they emit when they spot you, and they are not by all means a hard enemy to deal with: every weapon at your disposal (even handfeed) can put them down to sleep in a few hits, they can hurt you only when in melee range, and the only danger they could pose is in large numbers, expecially in a room with other tougher enemies. Be aware of the fact that they can sneak from behind, giving you a possible hearth attack.
Sheep
Sheeps are the first ranged enemies you encounter, and like goats they are very common in the game; you are alerted of their presence due to the soft bleat they emit when you are spotted (goats are kinda louder but it’s easy to mistake for them when other enemies make noise too). They pose a minimal threat when confronted to other animals than goats: they are very slow in movements and when attacking, they are not hard to put to rest and they can spit at you only from a fairly close distance.
Ostrich
Ostriches are the third animal encountered in the game and that’s where things will get a little more serious; don’t let their colourful and rather odd (yet still cute) appearance fools you: ostriches are very aggressive, fast and deceptive. You are alerted that they are aware of your presence due to their distinctive chirping, and their range of awareness (one or two rooms far from you) can be a serious concern: they can run wild in the nearby rooms, coming close to your position and surprising you from behind. When fighting numerous enemies, ostriches should be the first priority, due to their speed: they tend to get at very close distance from you to hurt you the most with their spitting; for the same reason, avoid using heavy ammunitions like cantaloupe and watermelon at them, because they can dodge it very easily, unless you’re both in a narrow passageway.
Antelope
Antelopes are quite sturdy and bothersome: they can hurt you from distance, they are often found in large groups and, above all, their gatling-gun-like spittle can be a nightmare when you face them at close range. You are alerted of their awareness of your position because they will make a very distinctive sound of pawing the ground, and like ostriches can be alerted by a far distance, but they are less prone at catching you by surprise. When you’re fighting a large group of animals, antelope are a serious concern only if in close range, and you should reposition yourself to avoid being surrounded; if they’re far, you can take off the other animals while they come closer. Since they need to stay still to spit a whole load to you, cantaloupe and watermelons are effective weapon while feed weapons, if possible, should be avoided, because due to their sturdiness antelopes can easily drain your ammo.
Ox
Oxen are the last and meanest animal you will fight (if you don’t count the bosses), and you’ll be easily alerted of their awareness of your position due to the deep, loud bellow they emit. Oxen aren’t common enemy, but you will encounter a lot of them in later floors (exception made when you’ll face them in the bonus level) and you will have mixed feelings about them, because they are very strong but they also have more distinctive weakness than ostriches and antelopes: they are very slow, they can’t spite you from a far distance and they are usually (but not always) loners. Although, this doesn’t mean you can underestimate them: when in pairs with an ostrich or an antelope, or in large groups of animals, they can be a fearsome foe, taking away a large chunk of your health with a single spit (in hard mode they can even kill you in two hits) so you will need to take cover if they aren’t far away. Cantaloupe and watermelon slingshots are the best weapon against them, because they’re very sturdy, easy to target and it would take too long and too much ammo to take down them with feed.
