Overview
Hybrid Burst Railmaster build
Intro
Here’s my Burst Railmaster build. After playing Hybrid Forged I wanted to improve my RM’s build in new Fazeer’s Dun’djinn end game challenge. I cleared all 251 floors, where the first 80 floors I was testing different build variations. Spent ~160 Respectables before being satisfied with this. This build ended up being quite strong and fun ”bomber”, so I wanted to share this with everyone.

Hotbar skills
As none of our skills can be spammed, we are using combos. Our most powerful combo start is:
Blasting Charge > Spike Drive > Epic Active > Flamethrower Car > Shotgonne Car > Spike Drive…
Build Train: We need this to summon train. Damage itself is barely decent, but every shot triggers on-hit effects. Activate stops the train for situational strategic use.
Shotgonne Car: This is one of our DPS skills. Deals great damage. Truly shines with Legendarium. As we have high defenses, we naturally take this over Shield Car.
Flamethrower Car: Our main DPS skill. This skill Burns targets so we don’t need to take any Burn chance to trigger Fazeer Dun Djinn buff Pyromaniac. This skill gives us free +25% crit chance to those floors against anything.
Blasting Charge: Increase all of our damage by 45%, including train’s passive attacks and relic active. Great skill to spend Endurance when Flamethrower Car and Shotgonne Car are on cooldown. Ranged skill that triggers Fighter’s Spirit buff that is +50% damage reduction. Blasting Charge’s 2nd tier bonus increases Fighter’s Spirit from +50% to +70% all damage reduction. I found this better without Legendarium.
Hammer Spin: Our only mobility skill so we want to maximize it’s cooldown reduction. Movement Speed bonus is very useful to side step AoEs and kite foes. +50% all damage reduction is okay. Naturally we have Fighter’s Spirit always up and damage reduction has diminishing returns… Great skill to spend Endurance for extra Blasting Charges.
Spike Drive: Our bread and butter. We have lots of options to regen and spend Endurance. This skill slows opponents so we can always enjoy Lantern Flash’s 2nd tier bonus that is +65% increased damage against Stunned, Blinded or Slowed targets. Bosses cannot be Blinded or Stunned, but they can be Slowed. Slow reduces targets’ movement and attack speeds by 50%. This stacks with Chill for another 50% reductions and possible weapon’s Slow stat (with diminishing returns). This skill is not just dealing great AoE damage and boost all of our other damages, but also has defensive use.
Passive skills
Mortar Car: Gives +10% cooldown reduction to all skills. Cooldown reduction cannot be build otherwise so this is mandatory DPS and survival increase.
Ghost Train: Only way (afaik) to increase trains’ attack speed. +10% may not sound much but it’s still DPS and crowd control increase as every car in train triggers our on-hit effects. If you have low crit chance (<30%) take Shield Car’s +10% critical hit chance for Conductor skills passive instead.
Lantern Flash: +65% damage increase for every skill. Mandatory.
Pound: Clean +20% damage for all Slammer skills. Very handy as we are using 3 of them.
Flying Picks: Train reduces our Endurance regen. This passive gives +25% Endurance regen to nullify, or atleast lower the penalty. In other words, increases our DPS. Not mandatory, but highly recommended. If you feel like not needing this, Torque Swing’s +10% critical hit chance for Slammer skills passive may be good alternative option.
Build
Here’s how the build looks like. As you see we are using Cosmic Helm and Breastplate for extra stat points.
Relic
There’s Relic update coming in a bit over week, but this is recommended setup for this build.
Pet skills
We don’t need Defender as we are using shield. We can take +15% critical hit chance instead. +15% movement speed bonus can be good aswell. Personally felt that Hammer Spin was enough for mobility.
Legendarium
Used this setup. Sometimes when Wanderer’s Hood level bonus was possible, I switched that Legendarium into Shotgonner’s Shield for extra DPS. This way we got Endurance bonuses for both main DPS cars.
Items
Here are screenshots from all items I used. I was switching between two weapons for different situations. Deathbone Scepter was used for floors as it had good Chill chance. This also triggered situational Ice Breaker floor buff for extra +25% crit chance. Bosses cannot be chilled, so I used Ritual Finale against them (whenever happened to remember). As I was using shield, I avoided getting shock % for weapon. Shock % from shield was more than enough to keep everything shocked all the time. Triggered our relic and situational Live Wire floor buff for extra +25% crit chance.
Weapons’ element doesn’t matter unless you have +% element damage stats.
I’m highly recommending to Lifebound every item. +20% stat increase may not sound ”worth it”, but that 20% can save your life. I nearly died a dozen of times during this run but Lifebounded items were enough to save life. Remember to have some extra equipments if you happen to die. I had rest of the Cosmic Set and Shotgonner’s Shield saved just in case for emergency.
This build has so high damage that I didn’t see any reason to stack DoTs. So I was lucky enough getting Bleed and Poison stats for Pet. These triggered situational floor bonuses for +25% crit chance for us.
