(Updated) [v1.00.5] [Endless 58+] Burning Hells Warlock Build

Overview

Hellfire Warlock build, utilizing the Regalia of Burning Hells set and a few True Legendaries, capable of either farming Mythic XV, or pushing in Endless.

Introduction

Highly recommend watching the videos and using this as a referance! I provide some more explanation there!

Hello, my name is enenbon! I’ve made this build and tweaked it over the course of 30 or so hours, and I’m pretty confident that it’s as good as it can get. I’m not claiming its 100% min-maxed yet, but so far it’s gotten me to Endless 40, and it can easily push higher.

Updates (last updated 8th of September, 2020)

Please watch the video above for a more clear explanation on things. Thanks!

– Using Inferno instead of Fire Storm
– Changed roll on helmet from Crit Chance -> Damage Stagger
– Using Weyrick’s Crown + Life Guard rune

Gameplay

The gameplay of this build consists of spamming Hell Pit, Fire Storm and Demon Spawn on cooldown, while keeping as many souls as possible with Ritual of Souls, dashing around with Soul Warp on under 1s cooldown and maxing out Effect Duration, which gives you damage to Combustion. It’s fairly simple, very spammy and fun to play, while dishing out heaps of damage and being ridiculously tanking due to soul-stacking and damage staggering (which is explained below).

Stats (with Ritual of Souls buff + Demon Spawn)

Skills & Masteries

There is a tiny bit of wiggle room with the skills, but below you will find what I’ve ultimately settled on. The order in which you should level mastery is Demonologist > Reaper > Lich > Corruptor, the rest don’t matter as much, I’m sure you can figure them out on your own.

Gear, Lesser & Greater runes

EQUIPPED GEAR:

Burning Hell set (Chest, Weapon and off-hand)
Obvious one, this is what gives you all of your damage. Flaming hells and it’s duration is where your damage is coming from, so it stacking infinitely, and faster, is a must-have for this build and it’s what everything else revolves around.

Weyrick’s Crown
Percentage increase to health, damage and mana based on how many gems you got slotted. If all of your gear is gemmed with prismatics, this almost becomes a must.

Arthos + D’Arthagnan set (Amulet, Ring)
This makes all of your elemental damage increases go towards the skill in your first slot, which will be a fire spell. This way you can get over 2000% fire damage increase.

Balgar’s binding (Accessory)
This will give you damage stagger, reduced damage taken from damage stagger, and it will make it so you deal more damage based on how how damage you’re currently staggering. Combined with the boots listed below, this is what I’ve found to be the best solution to any survivability problems, on top of giving you even more damage. Make sure to actually equip this and not put it on as a rune since it has Damage Stagger as orange text.

Staggering Boots (Boots)
Combined with the accessory listed above, this pretty much gives you a ridiculous amount of damage reduction. No need to really explain this one as there aren’t any other decent boot options and this one tops them all.

LESSER & GREATER RUNES:

Helm: Life Guard/b]
Provides 50% direct AND indirect damage reduction. Its ridiculously strong, and miles better than the 4-set piece.

Accessory: Heart of the Forest
Cooldown reduction is really good and you won’t have any mana problems. This item is probably replaceable but I personally love how much CDR it provides and there really aren’t any other amazing options that I’ve found so this is what I’m using.

Amulet: Firelord’s Amulet
Makes Hell Caller trigger from any fire skill and makes Demonic Appetite stronger. This is important because Hell Caller gives you a soul every time you use a fire spell, and you have a couple of those, making getting souls extremely reliable and easy, especially out-of-combat, which will be important in Endless, as you’d ideally want to stack up on souls before you engage so as to not get popped.

*Off-hand: Jon’s Book of Souls
This one is absolutely irreplaceable. It provides you with +10 max souls, making the cap 15. This way, with 15 souls and Ritual of Souls active, you are getting the benefits from 30(!!!) souls, which is extremely strong.
*As of v1.00.3, this is now a True Legendary, meaning it takes up a Greater Rune slot, but even if you don’t have one from before this version, still use this as a Greater Rune because it’s simply too strong.

*Chest: Elementium
You use this to cap out your resistances. This is the only way I found to reliably cap out resistances without suffering from losing out on other important stats. Using this, a few all-res enchants and a few specific res enchants you can easily cap out your resistances, which is again very important for Endless.
*As of v1.00.3, Jon’s Book of Souls became a Greater Rune, meaning we have one less slot. In my opinion this armor is what you should replace. There aren’t many amazing chest options but with more focus on resistances from enchanting, losing out on this wouldn’t be too big of a deal. Another option would be to simply wear this and lose out on the 4-set bonus which I probably wouldn’t recommend but it can definitely work.

Weapon: The Boomstick
Makes combustion deal more damages based on Flaming Hell’s remaining duration. This is probably half of what makes this build work and it is the reason that you want Effect Duration whereever you can possibly get it.

Boots: The Darkwalkers
This makes Soul Warp not consume souls and act as if it always consumes max souls. With this you can spam Soul Warp as much as you want, AND get souls for it on top!

Ring: Kingsrock
Makes gems stronger. Self-explanatory really.

Gems & Enchants

Try to cap out your resistances as best you can – in these screenshots I’m using Elementium, but without it, focus more on getting resistances (and remember casting Hell Pit also gives you a bit of all resistances!)

Rotation and Spell Usage

Try to always have Ritual of Souls (3) stacked to 15, and also have 15 souls at all times.

Cast Hell Pit (LMB) on cooldown for damage in combat, and for souls out of combat.
Cast Inferno (2) on cooldown for damage and grouping mobs in combat, and for souls out of combat.
Cast Soul Warp (RMB) to move around and get souls.
Cast Demon Spawn (4) either on cooldown, or ideally right before its duration runs out.
Cast Ritual of Souls (3) when you have 15 souls, then get to 15 souls as fast as possible, and cast Ritual of Souls (3) again once its duration runs out.
Cast Codex of Agility on cooldown, or ideally right before its duration runs out. It provides you with 15% evasion.

Conclusion

I’m not claiming this build is 100% perfect yet, but I do think its 99% of the way there.

Please feel free to ask me about why I’ve made certain decisions and I’ll try to explain as best as I can.

Also, if you think there is a way to improve this build, do share it with everyone in the comments.
