Tips, tricks and misconceptions
- In the Ni’mmrod system, at the Ekrr U’rra station, you can always find all boosters and all steering nozzles.
- The Fluxed Matter Shield is the most powerful shield in the classic game. Despite the longest total reload time and contrary to the first glance, the speed of recharging (unit of defense per second) remains the highest among all other shields. Moreover, it has the greatest amount of protection. Consequently, the Fluxed Matter Shield still the best shield in all respects.
- The Yin Co. Shadow Ninja is the most efficient cloaking device, however, it is rather energy-consuming in comparison with the U’tool, which is its the only drawback since the U’tool is inferior in efficiency and does not allow for efficient maneuvers and ore mining surrounded by enemies. Therefore, in the post-plot stages of the game, the energy-consuming of the Yin Co. Shadow Ninja is a well-deserved payment for high efficiency.
- The Me’al booster is the most powerful and long-acting booster despite the longest cooldown.
- The Pulsed Plasma Thrust is the most powerful steering nozzle, and it is recommended to use this thruster even a ship as like as the VoidX because it gives a high angular velocity for evasion maneuvers.
- The Y’mirr system is the most technological system in the entire game which has four tech. level 10 stations and one tech. level 9 station. However, since tech. level 10 items do not appear on sale, anything that can be bought in station hangars may appear at every station of this system.
- Despite the range specified in the characteristics, beam lasers are capable of damaging the enemy only at a distance of fewer than 2000 meters, when the enemy’s HP bar begins to be fully displayed on the scanner. This bug exists only on the PC version of the game.
- In the first game steps, Rhoda Blackhole and Yin Co. Shadow Ninja (for extreme difficulty) are the most useful, inexpensive, and easy to assemble blueprints. In turn, the most expensive, resource-consuming, and difficult to obtain and assemble blueprints are Khador Drive, Gunant’s Drill, Fluxed Matter Shield, T’yol, and Mass Driver MD 10.
- Cargo theft is the most profitable way to earn money in the first steps. To stealing the cargo, you need the Telta Ecoscan scanner or better, any tractor beam and EMP weapons. It is worth stealing only expensive goods, such as Vossk Organs, Buskat, Implants, Organs, Rare Plants, Rare Animals, Collectible Figures, and any primary weapons, turrets, and equipment.
- Having a turret is NOT a good aspect of the ship, since all manual turrets in the PC version of the game are completely ineffective and useless. Therefore, the VoidX has the only drawback is the small cargo hold, which can be significantly expanded with the Rhoda Blackhole.
- Guns positions are important for weapons such as auto-cannons, blasters, and pulse-lasers and absolutely unimportant for thermo-guns and beam-lasers. Ship with the best gun positions is the VoidX.
