The Weapons of Screencheat and How to Use Them

Overview

Just got the game and wonder which weapon you should choose and how they work? This guide may help you out.

Introduction

This guide was made to teach players of the weapons of screencheat and how they could possible use them. You may be wondering how some weapons may work if you’ve never tried them before and this guide plans to alleviate that.

Here’s some basics you need to know.
1. All weapons are 1-hit kills
2. During and/or after firing other players will be able to see your weapon, what effect it is depends on the weapon.
3. Each weapon is good in its own way and are viable for certain situations.

Note that the game is still updating so this guide may not be up to date all the time.

Blunderbuss

The classic, the reliable, the faithful. The blunderbuss is all of these things and so much more. This is the weapon that most people start out on.

Think of it as a shotgun with 1 round in it. It has fairly decent range, being able to hit something from medium distance, so you don’t have to be in their face in order to hit them. It has some spread on it so if some opponents are close enough to each other you may be able to hit them with 1 shot. The reload is quick enough so that if you miss you can calibrate your shot again without having to rush.

The blunderbuss leaves a smoke trail whenever you attack so make sure your opponents can’t get you in the meantime. Having only 1 shot means that if you mess up you are helpless until you can reload, which luckily isn’t too long. Just make sure your shot counts.

Overall, the blunderbuss is a solid weapon that you can bring into any gamemode and do great in.

HobbyHorse

The hobbyhorse can be considered similar to a charging bull weapon. When you attacl you sprint forward and kill anyone you knock into. The longer you hold onto the attack button the longer you charge.

This can be great for moving around quickly and escaping your opponents. Most weapons are single shot so if they mess up they are easy prey for your charge. Gamemodes such as hold the fun are easy to capture the fun since you are able to move around so fast.

The charge, however, is also the biggest weakness of the hobbyhorse. On maps with bottomless pits to suicide in it’s very easy to fall off with using the hobbyhorse. You leave a trail of fire whenever you charge so it’s fairly easy to see where you are going. This also makes it so people can anticipate and dodge your attack if you charge directly at them.

Overall, this weapon can be good in the hands of a skilled user, but is very easy to do badly with.

Grenade Launcher

The grenade launcher is a great crowd control weapon. The weapon shoots out a grenade that explodes automatically a short time later and will kill anyone in the blast, including yourself if you are not careful.

The size of the explosion is quite large, enough to fill many of the rooms in the game. The reload speed is also serviceable enough to be able to spam the weapon into an area and guess where the enemy is.

Unfortunately, since the weapon is timed the grenade launcher is terrible in close range combat. You may be able to hit someone with the grenade, but it’s a slow projectile compared to other weapons. Try to stay away from enemies if you are using this weapon. The weapon leaves a smoke trail after you shoot the weapon similar to the blunderbuss.

A great long range weapon and subpar close range, a different type of weapon to use.

Candelabra

The Candelabra is a melee weapon and as such has comparatively short range. The benefit to this is that since it’s a melee weapon it doesn’t need to reload and is pretty quick to attack.

A possible tactic to use is to attack an entire room you suspect an opponent to be in since the candelabra has a quick fire rate. The attack leaves a fire wherever you swing so try not to attack unless you are sure the opponent is around you somewhere.

For close range fights or sneaking up to people the candelabra is great, not so much at any other distance.

Chefolet

The Cefolet is a charge weapon that fires a giant energy ball, similar to a laser. The longer you charge the bigger and longer-lasting the ball will be.

The ball is able to bounce off walls and go through multiple opponents so if they are in a tight area charge a ball through and take them all out.

The chefolet needs to cool down after firing so make sure so don’t need to do anything urgently after you fire. The charging process is still visible to other players so make sure you watch out while you are charging the chefolet. This becomes really obvious when you are near to a full charge and the ball is absolutely massive. It is very easy to see. You can actually kill yourself if the ball reflects back onto you so watch out.

The chefolet is great for medium range combat where you have a little time to prepare for your target.

RevolverRifle

The revolver rifle(there’s no space in the game) can be considered the long-range weapon of the game. Considering how everyone is invisible and you need to guess your shots most of the time I personally consider this to be weird. The rifle offers 4 shots before needing to reload and you can’t reload early.

The range is great on this weapon, being able to take out an opponent from across the map. Being able to actually see where the opponent is another story. The 4 bullets-per-reload brings in a lot of room for you to miss your shot yet still be able to attack your target. Some of the other weapons, such as the blunderbuss, may be a better choice because of the wider range of the projectile.

A solid weapon if you are actually able to see the opponent.

Crossbow

The crossbow can be considered a trap weapon. Not only does the weapon fire a bolt at a moderately fast pace the weapon also leaves behind a laser which will kill anyone who touches it.

This means that if you shoot the weapon at a wall the laser can act as a sort-of tripwire against your opponents. If you know they are going to into an area, like to your area to kill you, just shoot a bolt at the wall of their route and they will die if they run into your laser.

This weapon requires that you understand the maps and know how far you are to your opponents so you can prepare. The crossbow isn’t great in close combat, slowing you down whenever you have a bolt out. The laser will also end at you, revealing where you are if your opponent looks at the laser.

The laser is great for the person who is defensive and is willing to set up traps against their opponent.

Bear Bomb

The bear bomb is an explosive weapon. Think of it as C4 in any other game. It doesn’t have much range and the distance you can throw it isn’t much but the blast radius on it is great and can lock down an area so no one can get through. The explosion is remote and you can activate after a short while.

You don’t throw the bear bomb very far so plan accordingly to make sure that your throw has enough height to it, preferable with a jump. The bear jumps whenever it hits the ground and bounces along an area, making it able to stay around for quite some time. If you are playing a game mode like control point the bear is great for defense since it stays in the area and can help you to defend. If you die while a bear is out it will automatically explode, killing anyone around and possible your killer.

The bear is more difficult to use than other weapons offensively. The range isn’t much and since the blast radius is huge you are likely to kill yourself as well. Whenever you have the bomb bear out and before you explode it marks coming from your demolition plunger will escape your body, easily revealing your location.

Watch out if you plan to use this weapon. It is more utility than straight up firepower.

Sorgean

The Sorgean looks like a giant mace balloon. When fired the mace will shoot out a moderate distance before coming back in the same direction as where it was fired. This “yo-yo” effect can be effective at laying down traps for other enemies close to you. The mace will continue coming backwards until it hits a wall or obstacle.

Be warned, when the mace is coming back you must be extremely careful not to get hit by it as well. It is very easy to kill yourself with the sorgean if you aren’t careful and move out of the way before it comes back. You may need to practice before you can effectively use this weapon.

wall_Hacker

The wall_Hacker is a long-range weapon that could be considered similar to a sniper rifle. When fired a targeting laser will appear, showing where your shot will land. As long as you hold the fire button down you won’t fire for a brief period until you find your target to fire on. The special ability of the weapon is that it can fire through anything, no matter how far they are. This means that cover is effectively useless against the weapon since it can shoot through them. For example, if you see an opponent across the map behind a wall you could still shoot them down. This means the wall_Hacker can be extremely powerful in the right hands. The reload time is moderate and not exactly quick so make your shots count.

To effectively use the weapon look at the other person’s screen to compare your laser’s location in relation to theirs. If you can see your laser then readjust your aim until you are over them and fire. One can safely defend from this weapon if the target obscures the view of the laser, perhaps by looking at the ground.

The weapon is powerful, but requires precise aim to master.

Conclusion

Have fun with the weapons in screencheat. My favorites at the moment are the crossbow, blunderbuss, and the chefolet. Some are better than others in certain situations but all of them can dominate if used correctly.

I plan on adding in images into the guide eventually. This guide should be updated as the game continues to grow and gain new weapons.
