Secret Neighbor: Hello Neighbor Multiplayer Guide

Tips for the Butcher class. for Secret Neighbor

Tips for the Butcher class.

Overview

The Butcher is the newest class in Secret Neighbor, and the first new one we’ve been given since the Clown neighbor class in the Summer Beta. Mastering the new class will be hard as there are so many new changes to the game, but hopefully this guide can help.

The Guide

Let’s begin with the ability that we all know and have heard about: The Hook.

With the hook you can grab players from outstanding distances and instantly pull them into your clutches, requiring the help of another kid in order to set them free. While the hook is good and can be used well on it’s own a helpful trick requires assistance from the gates. As of the 2020 Halloween update there are now movable neighbor gates in all 3 maps, allowing for different plays with the hook.
When you grab a kid with the hook, attempt to pull them through the gate opening and close it as the hook is about to reach them. If done successfully the kid will come right through the gate and will not be able to reach the other kids for help. My personal favourite spots for this is the Map 1 Library gate, and Map 2 Cinema room gate.

Along with the hook, Butcher neighbor comes with a ability that allows him to track down the other kids by following a trail they let off. A simple but strategic way to use this is to predict where the kid/kids are going and cut them off instead of going the same way to get them. This is a better use of time and will hopefully end up getting you 1 or 2 catches.

Direct confrontation doesn’t always work well in Secret Neighbor, which is where the fake crow ability comes in handy. The Butcher can fake a ‘crow marks the key’ icon to attract players to a specific location, but it’s become reasonably easy to tell it apart from the real deal. The first problem is timing. The Crow doesn’t spawn in at full player count, so you’ll have to wait until late game to use it if you want it to be slightly convincing. The second problem is location. If the kids see a crow spawn in the basement room or neighbor room they’ll quickly catch and realise its a fake. The final problem is the kids expecting it. If the kids are aware that you are playing butcher they will watch out for crows and most likely continue to stay close together.

A strategy you should go for is wait for late game, then find a unsearched location to spawn in the crow. Get your hook ready for when the kids arrive and try your best to stop them from realising the truth too quick. Until you reach late game target kids searching on their own to keep your identity a secret.

I really hope this helped and I’d appreciate any friendly comments. Good luck in game. 🙂
