Reporting Problems

Overview

Are you having issues with the game? Here are the ways you can let us know and help us improve the game. We try to look at every issue and bug that gets sent to us. Since we’re a very small team we might not be able to reply to every message we get.

First check your Video Drivers!

Go to the Steam client. Click on the “Steam” menu option in the top right. Click “Check for video driver updates” and follow the instructions to update your drivers.
Restart your computer and try the game.

Reporting Bugs/Crashes on Steam Discussions

Head over to the Steam discussions sub forum on tech support and bugs.

Post any log file the game outputted. (Usually Log.txt)

On Windows it will be in Documents/Maia/
On Mac Users/<Your username>/Library/Application Support/Maia/
On Linux .Maia in your designated user folder.

Either put the contents of the file on pastebin.com or wrap them in [ code ] [ /code ] tags. Don’t just paste it into the thread.

Posting your system specs is the most useful thing. If possible, also include a dxdiag report.
Also, please update your drivers. Most of all the DXDiags we’ve seen have had out of date videocard drivers.

“DxDiag is a commonly requested file when dealing with tech problems. It contains information about the hardware your computer has and all sorts of other helpful information. This file does not contain any sort of personal information.”

How to obtain your DxDiag file:

1. From the desktop click: Start > Run (or windows key + r).
2. In the blank text field of the window that appears type “dxdiag” without the quotes. Press run or hit enter.
3. Another window should appear titled DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Near the bottom of the window click on “Save All Information…” A popup should appear with a progress bar, this may take a few minutes.
4. After it completes a dialog should appear asking you where to save the file, I would recommend saving it to your desktop (automatically selected) with the default name and file type.
5. Open the file on your desktop (or wherever you saved it) and select all (ctrl + a) and copy (ctrl + c).
6. Paste the information on [link], click submit and link that in your bug report. That is it.

Post steps to replicate

Post detailed steps to replicate the problem. Every action you take in the game that caused the problem if possible. A bullet pointed list is the most useful way you can do this and aids us in replicating and fixing it for you.

Need Tech Support?

If you need to ask questions about technical support (rather than bugs in the game)
Head over to the forums[forum.maiagame.com] to ask.

The most important part of this step is to post your system specs. Without this it is extrememly difficult to work out what the issue is.
