All Known "Better Than Perfect" Levels & Solutions for Quell Reflect

All Known “Better Than Perfect” Levels & Solutions

Overview

Want to get the “Better Than Us” achievement? Want to know which levels can be solved better than perfect? Then this is the guide for you!

Introduction

I love the Quell franchise, and I felt like it was high time for someone to create a unified location for all the levels that can be solved “Better Than Perfect”.

I didn’t just want to make this because of the “Better Than Us” achievement. I mainly did it because of the interesting solutions that spring up when testing the limits of what you can do in these games.

Enjoy! ^w^

1970, Stage 1, Level 3, “Uneven”

  • instead of 28, it’s possible in 19 moves
  • screenshot of what the level looks like:
  • hint 1:
speed and/or timing and/or dexterity is required
  • hint 2:
    what happens when drops merge?
  • full solution:
    starting positions droplets:
    water drop 1: upper left
    water drop 2: upper right

1: down, right, down, right, down, right, down
2: down, left, down, left, down, left, down, left AND immediately-
1: right (so this droplet merges with the golden droplet, preventing the golden droplet from hitting the spike), then down, right, down

1970, Stage 3, Level 4, “Search Party”

  • instead of 42, it’s possible in 41 moves
  • screenshot of what the level looks like:
  • hint 1:
speed and/or timing and/or dexterity is required
  • hint 2:
    what happens when drops merge?
  • full solution:
    starting positions droplets:
water drop 1: next to the gender block on the right side
    water drop 2: lower middle
    water drop 3: left side

3: down, up, left, right, down AND then immediately-
2: right (so that it merges with the droplet going down, stopping it from getting trapped), then left, down, left, right, up, right, down, left
    1: down, left, up, left
    2: up
1: right, left, up, left, up, right, up, left, down
2: right, up, right, left, up, left, up, left, up, right, up, left, down

    1972, Stage 2, Level 3, “Trust”

    • instead of 19, it’s possible in 18 moves
    • screenshot of what the level looks like:
    • hint 1:
speed and/or timing and/or dexterity is required
    • hint 2:
water droplets can block the momentum of certain blocks, and vice versa
    • full solution:
      starting positions droplets:
water drop 1: in the middle
      water drop 2: lower left

      2: up
1: up, left, down AND then immediately-
2: left (so that it blocks the wooden needle from moving any further, giving the other droplet access to the golden pearl)
1: left, right, down, left, up, left, down, up, right, down, right, down, right

    1974, Stage 3, Level 1, “Shuffle”

    • instead of 7, it’s possible in 5 moves
    • screenshot of what the level looks like:
    • a hint:
speed and/or timing and/or dexterity is required
    • full solution:
      starting positions droplets:
      water drop 1: lower left
water drop 2: lower middle (unused)
      water drop 3: lower right

      1: up
3: up, left AND then immediately-
1: right (so that it blocks the wooden needle from moving any further, giving the other droplet access to the pearl)
      3: up

    1974, Stage 3, Level 4, “Extraction”

    • instead of 29, it’s possible in 26 moves
    • screenshot of what the level looks like:
    • a hint:
nothing fancy, just a good old-fashioned unintentional better solution
    • full solution:
right, up, right, down, left, up, right, left, down, right (you should now have the green orb activated into a block), down, right, up, right, up, right, up, right, up, right (you should now have the golden pearl), down, left, down, left, down, left

    1975, Stage 2, Level 4, “Dizzy”

    • instead of 18, it’s possible in 13 moves
    • screenshot of what the level looks like:
    • hint 1:
speed and/or timing and/or dexterity is required
    • hint 2:
what happens when two water drops go into a portal at the same time?
    • full solution:
      starting positions droplets:
      water drop 1: lower left
      water drop 2: upper left
      water drop 3: right side

      2: down
3: up, left, down, left, down, left, down, left AND immediately-
2: left (so that it merges with the other droplet going through the portal, unlocking the golden block)
      1: down, left, down

    1975, Stage 3, Level 1, “Trickery”

    • instead of 18, it’s possible in 17 moves
    • screenshot of what the level looks like:
    • hint 1:
speed and/or timing and/or dexterity is required
    • hint 2:
water droplets can block the momentum of certain blocks, and vice versa
    • full solution:
      starting positions droplets:
      water drop 1: lower middle
water drop 2: top droplet of the two bunched together in the lower left
water drop 3: bottom droplet of the two bunched together in the lower left

      1: up, left, down
      2: right, up, left
      1: left, right, up
      2: down
      3: right, up, left
2: right AND immediately down (so that both water droplets now have access to a pearl)
      1: right
      2: right

    1975, Stage 3, Level 2, “Elevate”

    • instead of 13, it’s possible in 9 moves
    • screenshot of what the level looks like:
    • hint 1:
      almost frame-perfect precision is required
    • hint 2:
this weird (borderline glitchy) solution requires using the undo button to work
    • full solution:
      starting positions droplets:
      water drop 1: upper left
      water drop 2: right side
water drop 3: lower left (unused)

      1: up, right, up
2: down, left, right AND immediately down (so that both droplets are stuck from going either left or right, because getting the yellow droplet down far enough to access the portal just isn’t possible due to the constraints of the movement speed of the droplets), then press undo AND immediately down, repeatedly. if you timed this repetition correctly and fast enough, it should delay the gender block enough (through the mechanics of the undo function) for you to move your yellow droplet down far enough to be able to access the portal (though it’s really hard to make this happen, so it might take quite a lot of retries to get it successfully working), then left, up

    1975, Stage 3, Level 3, “Temple”

    • instead of 13, it’s possible in 12 moves
    • screenshot of what the level looks like:
    • a hint:
speed and/or timing and/or dexterity is required
    • full solution:
      starting positions droplets:
      water drop 1: right side
      water drop 2: lower left
      water drop 3: upper left

      2: left
      1: left AND immediately-
2: FAST up, FAST right (so that the blue droplet is out of the way while the yellow droplet makes its way to one of the golden blocks, timed in such a way that the droplets don’t merge in the portal rings)
      1: down, right, up
3: left, up, left, up, left

Secret Levels!, Level 4, “A Different Perspective”

    • to access the secret levels, quickly click or tap the fan on the main menu a bunch of times
    • secret levels do not count to your “least amount of moves” leaderboard score
    • instead of 32, it’s possible in 31 moves
    • screenshot of what the level looks like:
    • a hint:
nothing fancy, just a good old-fashioned unintentional better solution
    • full solution:
left, down, left, up, left, down, left, up, left, up, right, up, left, up, left, up, right, up, left, up, right, up, right, up, left, up, left, up, left, down, left
