A Ship for Life
As the first ship provided to new pilots it is logically a very well balanced ship offering good speed, firepower and durability. Its Gatling guns are slow to heat up so they are good for imposing prolonged firepower against heavy class ships. It’s also one of the most versatile ships and players will find it’s the one they (and indeed the world’s best Valkyrie players) go back to most often.

Weaken Your Foes

Hold it Right There
The Assuage’s electromagnetic shield (EMS) weapon is great for taking on heavies. You can use the EMS to trigger an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) effect on the bad guy leaving them temporarily stranded and shieldless. Once the EMP has stunned an enemy ship, you can then follow up by hammering them with primary weapon fire.

The Scattergun Approach
Pilots who have little desire to polish up their accuracy skills in battle might enjoy the Aegis a great deal. It has a powerful Flak Cannon that can only otherwise be found on ships in heavy class. This weapon has an area of effect so it’s easier to score some damage with it without having to employ pin point accuracy. Sounds like a blast, right?

Speedily Does It
The Ascent’s Pulse Laser has a slow rate of fire but it is quick and very useful for targeting both enemy fighters and support ships. Also, you can upgrade the primary weapon for a quicker fire rate and it also packs quite a punch.

Now You See Me…
This ship’s Micro Warp Drive is more usually found on heavy class ships. It makes the Spur excellent at employing hit-and-run tactics and getting to control points quickly. It’s relatively feeble primary weapon and warp abilities make it the ideal ship for zipping around Control Mode battles and taking out drones.

Make ‘Mine’ a Double
Not a particularly quick ship, the Sentry can, however, use its mines to great effect in a couple of different ways. Mines are useful against shields but can also be quickly deployed to counter missile attacks.
Have fun out there rookies. We look forward to flying and dying together.
