Things that effect Crop Quality (1-100):
Soil Quality
Seed Quality
Farming Quick Tips
1. Anyone with Nature Lore at 30+ can harvest crops with a sickle or shovel at no quality or quantity loss to crop, seed or soil.
2. Get spotters to watch for enemies and haulers to help bring in your crops if you are in a guild. *For guilds make this a normal thing to make the harvesting a much less time consuming task freeing up your farmers to replant and the advanced farmers to fertilize the soils as time permits.
3. Check crops anytime the weather changes to rain or to sunny, as this change counts as 1 tick. There are 8 ticks between planting and mature crop growth.
4. Plant on Sunny or Rainy days to reduce time to harvest by one tick. However, use your best judgment if you have cloudy days and time to plant or days between judgment hour + ripe crops.
Advanced Farming Tips
1. For best results work on getting a small number of your initial seeds up to a great quality. Mass plant on fertile soil the majority of your crops, with a small patch set aside just to improve quality of seeds for replanting. Grow your fertilized crop area a little at a time keeping below your manure output. Keep replanting the highest quality seeds on that high quality fertilized soil and soon your High Quality seeds will hit 99 and you will not have to use as much fertilizer to maintain the 100 quality fertilized soil.
2. The Quality of Seed used can reduce the soil quality be a lot. Putting a 1-10 quality level seed onto a 100-quality level soil tile will deplete the quality level tile a lot. For best results, use a 10 quality level range when planting if you plan to keep 100-quality level to minimize need for more than one fertilizer to keep your tile maxed out.
