Overview
Hello all! I’m Joey245, and this is the first guide I’m ever making for the Steam Community! Figures that it would be about the first game I truly fell in love with: BitBlot’s Aquaria! I’ve clocked over 200 hours into the game by my estimate (non-Steam version), have explored every little secret, and of course, found every treasure! And now I’m here to help you fill your home cave with all the wonders of Aquaria, so let’s dive in!
Guide Overview
There are a total of 32 collectible treasures scattered throughout the world of Aquaria, some more obvious than others. Some treasures require the use of specific forms or songs to get to, while others are just a pain in the rear end to get to. You can keep track of whatever treasures you find by checking the main menu and clicking on the “helmet” icon:
Each treasure has its own section. Within that section, I’ll tell you:
–Area: Which area of the game world the treasure resides in
–Location: Where the treasure actually is, as well as how to get there.
–Prereq: What forms you’ll need, what events need to be triggered, or other conditions/stipulations.
–Effects: What does this treasure do? How can I use it? WHY would I use it?
And maybe I’ll give my snarky opinions along the way, I dunno. We’ll see what happens. 😀
All descriptions and images lifted from StrategyWiki.org, an awesome resource that just murders the Steam Overlay anytime I try to bring it up. (Hence the need for the guide.)
Well, let’s get started!
1. Big Seed
–Area: Verse Cave
–Location: Head to the lower-right corner and go through a tunnel. There is a boulder you can lift. Once it is exposed, you can collect it.
–Prereq: Bind Song
–Effects: Poofy pinkish plants appear near the kitchen in Naija’s home. Not particularly useful, but it sure looks purty!
2. Jelly Beacon
–Area: Song Cave
–Location: Top-right corner of the caves, easy to stumble across.
–Prereq: None
–Effects: Little baby jellyfish appear near Naija’s bedroom. Cosmetic only.
3. Krotite Armor
–Area: Energy Temple (sort of)
–Location: Head West of the Song Cave in the home waters after you clear the Energy Temple. You’ll find a locked doorway. Once you unlock it, follow the path to find this outfit.
–Prereq: Energy Form
–Effects: Naija wears the armor of the Krotites. No other effects, apart from looking badass.
4. Energy Idol
–Area: Energy Temple
–Location: Cave accessible by fish tunnels. There are two entrances; one by the boss (brining you in from below), and the other near the main entrance (bringing you in from above)
–Prereq: Fish Form, Sun Form (to spot the tunnel in the dark)
–Effects: Appears in the Energy-Temple part of Naija’s home. Cosmetic.
5. REALLY Big Tooth
–Area: Energy Temple
–Location: In the mouth of the dead Energy God.
–Prereq: Energy God defeated (duh)
–Effects: Displayed in Energy-temple part of Naija’s home. Cosmetic.
6. Crab Armor
–Area: Arnassi Ruins
–Location: In the northern part, after you kill the giant enemy crab
–Prereq: Defeating the Giant Enemy Crab by Attacking its Weak Point For Massive Damage using Real Time Weapon Change
–Effects: Naija gains a boost in defense when wearing the armor. I never noticed much difference, but then again, I never wore it because of that stupid-looking headpiece. To each their own, I suppose.
7. Glowing Plant
–Area: The Abyss
–Location: Hidden in a secret area in the western side of The Abyss. If you travel from the eastern area of The Abyss to the western using the lower of the two entrances, then look at your minimap, you will see a hidden area in the roof of the tunnel not far to the left of the entrance.
–Prereq: Sun Form
–Effects: Glowing Jellyfish will appear in a dark room at the bottom of Naija’s home.
8. Mithalas Pot
–Area: Mithalas
–Location: Northeast side of the ruins, in a pagoda southest of the entrance (past the strong current.)
–Prereq: Beast Form?
–Effects: Appears in Naija’s kitchen and gives free fish meat anytime you break it. You’ll never run out of fish meat this way! Highly recommended you grab this, even if you’re not going for all the treasures.
9. Arnassi Armor
–Area: Arnasi Ruins
–Location: Complete the timed event in under 1m 30s in the Arnassi ruin area. You can start it by playing the four runes on the wall. Big hint for finishing it within time: time spent in Spirit form does not count against the race timer. Hot soup is also a big help. Also, fish form is quick enough to complete it without speed boosts.
–Prereq: Fish Form, Spirit Form, steady hands
–Effects: When worn, seahorses that you are riding move faster and can travel against currents. Could be useful if you’re the seahorse-riding type, but it’s got the ugliest headpiece of any of the armors, so I never use it myself. Only worth getting if you’re already going for the Speed Racer achievement.
10. Odd Container
–Area: Kelp Forest
–Location: On the same map that has the small separated section (where you get the 3rd cooking slot). You should be in the Kelp Forest and NOT in the separated section. In the north part of the Kelp Forest map, swim along the eastern wall until you find a hidden cave with a wrecked ship in it. There you’ll find a treasure chest. Using the the Sun form is a big aid.
–Prereq: None (I think)
–Effects: Cosmetic, but it looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
11. Mithalas Banner
–Area: Mithalas Palace
–Location: here are eight rooms after you enter the Mithalan palace (second “Mithalas City” zone) – four above and four below. In the top-left one, there is a blue banner – this is it.
–Prereq: Access to Mithalas
–Effects: Cosmetic, shows up with other Mithalan Royal Relics
12. Mithala Doll
–Area: Mithalas
–Location: From the main entrance to Mithalas, take the first path north. Where the two circular paths meet on the map, here will be a house on the right side wall facing perfectly left. Go into that house and you will find a path you need fish form to take. The path leads to a bedroom. The doll is on the bed.
–Prereq: Fish Form
–Effects: The doll will appear in Naija’s bedroom. Cosmetic, but I want one so bad its so cute and kawaii~~~~~~~~~~
13. Walker Baby
–Area: Kelp Forest
–Location: Start from the Ancient Turtle in the Kelp Forest, swim straight down into the current until you face a split-up of the path. Swim down again until you get to the big kelps on the floor and swim left, until your minimap blackens out. Switch into the Sun form and continue left until you see a path on the minimap leading down. There’s a “rock-disguised” monster right on top of the entrance. Continue down, swim past the giant walkers until one of the walkers blocks your path, switch into Spirit form and slip through the walker, leave the Spirit form and get the walker baby.
–Prereq: Spirit Form, Sun Form
–Effects: Spawns an adult walker in Naija’s garden. Cosmetic, but looks cool as a cucumber.
14. Seed Bag
–Area: Kelp Forest
–Location: Go the the mini-nymphs’ home in the kelp forest after obtaining nature form. There is a plant passageway that will lead you to a garden full of leaves to pull, and also the treasure.
–Prereq: Nature Form
–Effects: Creates plants in Naija’s home garden. Use the Bind Song on them to pull up plant leaves, plant bulbs, or other planty items. Highly recommended to grab this one, even if you’re not going for all the treasures.
15. Arnassi Statue
–Area: Arnassi Ruins
–Location: Hidden in dark area of the Arnassi ruins.
–Prereq: Sun Form
–Effects: The statue will appear sitting on a shelf in Naija’s stone chamber. It will also spawn 3 seahorses within the same room. Pretty much cosmetic, but it looks nice I guess.
16. Gear
–Area: Sun Temple
–Location: In the second half by going through the pipe the steampunk unkillable monsters go through.
–Prereq: None
–Effects: Causes the gears in Naija’s cave to spin. Cosmetic, but so much fun!
17. Urchin Costume
–Area: The Veil
–Location: North of turtle cave, using the beast form to travel up a waterfall. You’ll enter an area with lots of floating water. Use beast form to get to the top water bubbles, and then use hot soup and the beast jump to propel yourself to the topmost bubble.
–Prereq: Beast Form, Hot Soup, lots of patience
–Effects: When worn, things Naija physically touches will take continuous damage. Rarely ever used it, but it looks AWESOME.
18. Girl’s Costume (AKA The Mandatory Bikini)
–Area: Sunken City
–Location: It’s on the bed in the sunken city. Possibly the only room you don’t have to visit so it should be easy to find. Implications…interesting.
–Prereq: Spirit Form
–Effects: Naija wears a bikini. Gotta have fanservice somewhere, y’know.
19. Mutant Costume
–Area: The Body
–Location: In the gauntlet just before the final save point. About halfway through, there’s a small passage hidden in a wall covered with thorns – look at the map to see where it is.
–Prereq: You should already have everything at this point.
–Effects: Naija looks like a mutant. Cosmetic, but freakishly cool.
20. Jelly Costume
–Area: The Abyss
–Location: Defeat the Jelly King in the west Abyss.
–Prereq: Killing King Squishy
–Effects: Automatically heals Naija if her health goes below 50%, when worn. Incredibly useful, highly recommend you grab this even if you’re not going for all the treasures.
21. Sun Key
–Area: Sun Temple
–Location: Along the eastmost wall of the first place where you’ll have to manipulate the water level, there is a hidden passage. The passage is in the first shaft in which you lower the blue crystal.
–Prereq: None
–Effects: Spawn 2 mechanical fish in the Sun Temple part of Naija’s home.
22. Mithalan Dress
–Area: Mithalas Cathedral
–Location: In the cathedral there will be one section that you couldn’t get in before you get beast form due to the current (if you’ve explored everywhere else it will be easy to see where it is on the map). Head there, use beast form to get past the current and there’s your costume.
–Prereq: Beast Form, Mithala defeated
–Effects: Naija wears a pink princess outfit. Cosmetic, but cute.
23. Glowing Seed
–Area: The Abyss
–Location: Hidden in the western Area of The Abyss, on the far west side, through the narrow twisting tunnels full of crabs.
–Prereq: Sun Form
–Effects: Glowing plants grow in Naija’s home.
24. Turtle Egg
–Area: Turtle Cave (in the Veil)
–Location: In turtle cave underneath the old turtle’s head covered by rocks.
–Prereq: None
–Effects: Turtles spawn in Naija’s cave. Cosmetic, but adorable.
25. King’s Skull
–Area: Open Waters
–Location: Caves covered in bones in the bottom left Open Waters. The King’s Skull is in the west part of open waters, right above the west part of the abyss. There is an exit to a darkened cave in the lower-left and upper-right, in this cave you’ll find the King’s Skull behind a barrier you can get past with the spirit form.
–Prereq: Spirit Form
–Effects: The Skull will appear with the other Mithalan Royal Relics in Naija’s home.
26. Drask’s Trident
–Area: Mithalas Palace
–Location: Right after you got the Spirit form, swim down and then left past the hot streams.
–Prereq: Spirit Form, kicking the Prietess into next week
–Effects: Appears alongside the other Mithalan Royal Relics in Naija’s home.
27. Song Plant Spore
–Area: Arnassi Ruins
–Location: Top most area of the race portion of Arnassi Ruins.
–Prereq: None
–Effects: Creates spores in Naija’s cave that change color when she sings. Cosmetic, but amusing.
28. Jelly Egg
–Area: Kelp Forest
–Location: Bottom of the shaft just before the Kelp Forest boss. The one with all current and all the upside down plant things.
–Prereq: None (Though Beast form helps immensely)
–Effects: It will appear in Naija’s garden with a couple upside-down jellies around it. BOING!!
29. Stone Head
–Area: Open Waters
–Location: In the uppermost section of Open Waters, the one that leads to the Veil. There is a room at the top with three shafts leading into it. The head is at the bottom of the middle one, just before it turns left and joins with the left shaft. If you look on the map, it is almost straight above the Open Waters turtle.
–Prereq: None
–Effects: The stone head will appear in a spot nearby the kitchen to the lower right. When Naija sings near it, it will sing with her.
30. Golden Starfish
–Area: The Veil
–Location: East Veil, bottom right corner
–Prereq: None.
–Effects: The starfish will appear next to the entrance of Naija’s home.
31. Anenome Seed
–Area: Song Cave
–Location: In a tiny cave passageway above the giant anemone that is situated at the top of the room directly west of the save crystal in the Song Cave. Turn into Nature Form to swim past the giant anemone without it hurting you. Continue swimming upward against the weak current to get to it.
–Prereq: Nature Form
–Effects: Spawns 3 anemones beneath Naija’s kitchen.
32. Black Pearl
–Area: Kelp Forest
–Location: It’s in the Kelp Forest, located on the map with the entrance to the sea nymphs’ cave. From the entrance of the nymphs’ cave, swim northwest into the left main part of the map. Swim north until you see a small cave with a big fish lurking in it (on the right side), switch into Fish form and swim past the big fish. Switch to Sun form and follow the small passage behind the fish (avoid the thorns) and collect the Black Pearl at the end of the passage.
–Prereq: Fish Form, Sun Form
–Effects: Spawns Johnny Depp to replace your loser of a husband Li. Just kidding, it actually spawns a clam in Naija’s garden suitable for sleeping in. (Don’t ask me how a clam grows from a pearl…) (Also sleeping appears to be bugged, as interactions are not possible with the clam. At least it looks nice!)
