In The Shadow Of The Truth | Walkthrough & Achievement Guide

In The Shadow Of The Truth is an awful but fairly easy survival horror game with four Steam achievements.

Switch game language by clicking on → .
Press LMB to interact with things and ESC to back out.
There’s eight random-spawning batteries in the whole game. Collect five
    to get the achievement related to them.
Secrets remain collected after dying while batteries don’t.

Start a new game.

• After the opening sequence, turn left and interact with the light switch.
• Approach the clock above the couch.
      

• Look at the note to the right of the laptop (press ESC to back out).
• Pick up the “Apartment key” to the right of the note.
• Interact with the laptop, input 4948958527 (can copy paste), and log in.
• Drink the bottle of water from behind the laptop.
• Approach the board on the wall and then go through the door.
• Turn off the light switch in halfway upstairs.
• Go all the way downstairs and through the first door on the left.
• Turn on the light switch.
• Interact twice with the handle of the second door on the left.
      

• Pick up the “Dish sponge” and “Rust remover”.
• Leave the way you came in.
• Turn off the light switch and approach the door with the green panel beside.
• Go through it.
• Turn around and pick up the Flashlight and the Out door key next to it.
• Go left and interact with the marked book.
• Turn around/go behind that bookshelf (depending of where you interacted with the previous book from) to find a book turned around. Interact with it as well.
• Leave through the door.
• Take the door to the right to go outside.
• Go right and pick up the first battery on the bench:

• Cross the street and continue forward until finding a yellow sign.
• The second battery will spawn right there:

• Continue walking forward until you see a cart on the left.
• Pick up “Iron cutter” and “Speaker” from behind.
• Go back the way you came from and interact with the red bar: on the opposite side of the entrance door.

• Spam LMB on them to obtain “Rebar”.
• Walk back to the cart and head right.
• Pick up the “Jerry can” from the floor.
• Go back to the cart, turn right, and pick up Jerry Can.
• Continue forward to see a cutscene.
• You must be fast during the next section:
• After the cutscene, an enemy will start following you.
• It will come from the left side so you’ll want to go forward and around the barriers on the street to get to the playground (it’s right behind the bus stop).
• Lure the enemy to the swing (by running between the side beams) to get it stuck in this way:

• Now, you can safely approach the slide. Click on the letters at right side

• Now, stuck the enemy on the opposite side:

• If you did it correctly, you’ll be able to explore the whole map (except the playground)
  without any dangers.

• Leave the playground and go left.
• Take the first alley on the left to find the second secret (remember to click on it):

• The third battery will spawn at the end of this alley:

• Go back and across the playground to find the fourth battery:

• Also, enter the alley beside and go left to find the third secret:

• A fifth battery can spawn on top of a trashcan in the same alley:

• Go back through the alley and take the first opening on the left.
• Fourth secret will be on this new alley:

• Go back and take the left alley once more.
• Follow it until finding an open street, then look for the sixth battery spawn on a trashcan right at the exit:

• Go to the end of the street to find the seventh possible battery spot:

• Now, cross the street to find the fifth secret on a billboard:

• Enter the graveyard and head left.
• Pick up the “Hose”.
• Turn around and go all the way forward to find the sixth secret on some grave:

• Turn around and leave the graveyard.
• Head right and interact with the yellow machine.

Don’t worry if you hear the loud music like if the enemy is getting closer, that only occurs because the playground is on the other side of this area.

• Spam LMB to fill the Jerry can and receive “Fuel”.
• Turn around and head towards the end of the street and to the right.
• Pick up the Office key through the window.

• Go through the door on the left side.
• Enter the second office and look on the desk to find “Desk key”.
• Now, interact with the lockers to find some files (they’re usually on the leftmost one) and click on the right arrow to go through all.
• Leave the office.
      

The enemy will respawn inside the graveyard at this point, so run back to the playground and bug it out once again.

• Leave the playground and head to the middle of the street to find a pump.
• Add the fuel (spam LMB) and click on the opposite side to turn it on.
• Return to the graveyard to find the last battery spot inside the white cabin.

This is your last chance to get the achievement for collecting five batteries, so do it now if you haven’t yet.

• Go out to the office street and take the manhole into the sewers.
• Interact with the knobs on the left in the following manner: 1-3-2-1-5-3-2-1-3
• If done correctly, it should look like this:

• , if you lose you’ll spawn at the beginning of the sewers. Also, make sure you’ve (bottom left corner of the screen):
  • Take the door on the right (by walking forward to push it through).
  • Go straight and through the next door, then go left.
  • Head all the way to the end of the hall, then take the door on the right.
  • Turn right after crossing the door and go forward to find the exit ladder. Interact with it.

• Once outside, go forward to find another bus stop.
• Interact with the last secret on the billboard. to receive the final achievement.
