Overview
1. Right click the game’s EXE file in the game’s folder2. Select Properties (the bottom choice)3. Go to the “Compatibility” tab at the top of the new window4. Check the “Enable Compatibility Mode” box5. Select “Windows XP Service Pack 3” from the drop-down menu immediately below that same checkbox6. Click OK. Run the game again, and you should be good to go unless you have some weird, crazy other problem!
How to do the thing
1. Right click the EXE file in your game’s folder

Now run the game again, and you should be good to go! (unless you have some crazy, weird problem)
