Just a few quick tips when you go about your prision life.

Quick Beginner Location Refrence Guide

When you play for your first time you might wanna know a few things:

Locations: If you dont know where you are then you better do it fast because if the guard catch you out side of the location your suppose to be without permission then you will see that heat rise faster than a thermostat in July. So to help you figure out what is what here are the main areas.

• Vistitation: Sit there for a bit maybe your peeps on the other side will have a chat sit for like 10 secs.
• Central Primary Hallway: Definatly the name isnt taken from a game or anything. It is the area where the rollcall takes place and connects to most of the prision.
• Library: Somtimes it takes a person to read 20,000 League Under the Sea to understand how to put soap into a sock.
• Canteen: The place where the trays taste better than the food. Connect to the Kitchen and the CPH
• Gym: You can either or you can bench press 350.
• Shower: Just dont drop the soap and your fine.
• Solitary: Couldn’t play somethin’ good, huh? Hank Williams? They broke the door down before I could take requests. -The Shawshank Redemption
• Woodshop: Your dreams of making cheap chairs have finally come true!
• Licenses plates construction floor: Aka the best job, it pays the most and is really easy to get in the groove of it.
• Generator Room: Turn off the lights and become the spooky scary skeleton you always wanted to be.
• Storage: Take your “friends” out back to “discuss” job shifts

Venting for life

Vents are the key to a happier life, you can easily store stuff in the vents and not get caught. In your cell you are gona need 2 glue bottles and 2 toilet papper, also your intellect needs to be 30+. Just use 4 or 5 plastic knives or anything with the cutting attribute to open the vent. Then combine paper and glue twice to make paper mache and combine those to make a fake vent. FInally select the vent in invintory and left click the hole, tada a new storage compartment! You can use this to store all the red word stuff.

Easy Schedule

Now firsts things first when you go for role call you only have to stand there for 2 seconds and then you can go wander off and the guard wont go crazy and search for you. With that said you can do this

• Morning roll call- check out a few cellmates desks closest to yours
• Breakfast – keep checking out your cellmates desks till you got your whole block checked out
• Job time – Do the job normally its best if you do the metalworking because it makes the most money, when your done its best to go to the library and raise your int for later
• Afternoon roll call – keep searchen those desks or start digging / unventing
• Free time – keep digging or maybe raise your stats
• Dinner – eat up because youll need all you fatigue
• Gym – I know you wanna go the distance but in my book I rather survive more punches and gunshots than get a slight speed boost
• Shower – Just dont drop the soap and see if you can browse the vendors for some gear
• Free time – do whatever you want its free time
• Evening Roll call – look at vendors one more time
• Lights out – go to bed or dig / unvent until you get too tired to continue

I think I missed a freetime but if you use that you can start making a tunnel network or explore the vents efficiently.

Helpful things to look out for

Some things you can only find in desks others you can only find in merchants.

GLUE: If you wanna fool the guards with fake vents then you are gonna need some glue and depending on your luck you can go 5 days without finding a single bottle, so if you see one keep it in your desk, the guards wont see it.

Duck tape: Its used in a lot of items that you will need so if have enough and are not saving for something buy some spare and place it in the vents for later.

File: Same as duck tape but if you can use it till its 5% and it will still let you craft with it.

Bed sheets: Though they are common they come in handy if you use them on the cells to block sight to the cells. But at night guards will take off the bed sheets if it completely blocking their sight so just make a decoy with 2 pillows and a sheet, so they wont freak out when your gone at night.

Chocolate: If you use it on yourself by selecting it and clicking yourself you will get some fatigue back, which is good for extended digging periods where you cant afford to stop. Also it is one of the main ingredients for the best weapon in game.

Lighters: Can be used to make molten plastic and melting Hot Chocolate which are both almost needed for copying keys. With the exception of the chocolate, because you can still beat up a guard without it as it’s just hard to do so.

Helpful Hints

There are a few small things that you might or might not have noticed when you go about your day in this game.

• When on the roof you can walk across metal beams that allow access to other parts of the prision.
• When in the laundry room you can steal a guard uniform by wearing it all the way to your room then taking it off, the heat will go down just make sure to have a uniform handy because you dont wanna streak.
• You can hide in lockers.
• If you are quick enough you can steal metal and timber by placing the item on the scanner by right click droping it, then get shot, run back and pick it up, finally run as fast as you can to your desk place the item in it then lose the heat as fast as you can. Now you have free recources. Note: its best to transfer it to the vents for safe keeping later.
• You dont need to be directly under a vent to crawl through it.
• Razor plus ducktape makes a item better than a police baton.
• Don’t leave vents open anywhere because if the guards find it you get busted and all the vents in the prision resets. That also applies with walls and holes.
• NEVER GO ON THE ROOF AT DAY!
• Try finding a pattern with the job you have it makes the job 10x faster.
• If you can equip the item to your weapon or your outfit you can walk through the scanner without it
  beeping.

• When you desicrate a guards face don’t take his key instead copy it with the puddy technique or you will be busted. Though you can still take his clothes and weapon 🙂
• Try not to keep red items in your desk for too long it could bite you in the butt later.
• You see though pitch black spots in the prision thats between the outer walls and inner walls? Well you can go through them unless you dig under so dont waste time and chip you way to it.
• Hold shift and hover the mouse at a item you might find out more stuff about it.
• Wanna open a vent, chip a wall, or dig a tunnel but you dont have the supplies to make the tools for it? Just use a fork for chippen a knife for cutten and a spoon for digging, it isnt efficant but it should take about 2 of the item to open a vent, chip a wall, or dig a hole. You can get them from the canteen.
• Posters are better than fake walls, but if you cant do both then just use the normal wall because when you place it its health is really low.
• Try not to make holes or unvent other prisioners vents because they will tell on you.

Final notes

Disclaimer: Well first off this is my first guide, this guide was written when this game was first on steam (I didn’t see any guides to help new players) so if it gets outdated then go and see other guides about the game(there are alot now), on that note I also have not played the game in a long time so if you ask a question in the comments about something that was just added I prolly won’t know sorry.
