How to Escape Paris Central Pen for The Escapists

How to Escape Paris Central Pen

Overview

Having trouble finding a vulnerability in the seemingly perfect defenses? Fear not, young escapists. You shall be free again, once you read this guide.

Introduction

So. You’ve woken up in Paris Central, one of the most baffling prisons in the game. You have no idea how to escape. Don’t worry, though; you’ve come to the right place.

Day One

You’re going to want to get a few essential things done on the first day. To begin with, read! Get your character’s INT stat as high as you can; some of the things you’ll be crafting are high-INT. Don’t worry too much about your other stats, you don’t really need to beat anyone up. If you can’t find it, the library is at the bottom of the prison, through the doors below rollcall.
Next, ensure that all the guards have an opinion of at least 30. This is essential, as they will tear down your bed sheets otherwise.
Then, get some bed sheets (2) and hang them on the bars of the cell NEXT to yours, at the end of the hall. It SHOULD be unoccupied. If it isn’t, delete this save and create a new one until it is.The guards will never be able to see in. You can then start cutting the vent in peace. Cut the vent off using knives from the canteen (save your nail files for later).

You can store a lot of contraband in here once you cut away the slats.
Finally, go to sleep! Saving is essential.

Supplies

By the second day, the basic tasks completed, you should begin to gather supplies for the night of your escape. You will need:
-A sturdy shovel
-A sturdy pickaxe (or a multitool)
-Sturdy cutters
-A guard outfit
-A zipline hook (timber + wire)
-A sheet rope
-Chocolate (optional)
Be sure to hide everything in the vent. You can’t get caught.
Once you have everything, you’ll need a bed dummy too.

The Escape

On the night of the escape, during evening free time, put the bed dummy in your bed. Double-check your supplies. Make sure your desk is clear of contraband. Then go to evening rollcall. After evening rollcall, duck into your secret cell and pop into the vents. Put on your guard clothes, then gather up your supplies–you inventory should look like this, plus a sheet rope:

Navigate the vents until you’re above the rollcall area. There should be a ladder. Go up it.

Now you’re on the roof. Walk left, find a narrow gap between two taller roof areas, and rope yorself down. You can drop the rope at this point– you don’t need it again.Walk left some more until you find a building with two white locks on its doors. Using your shovel, dig a tunnel under the door. Guards don’t patrol this area, so don’t worry about hiding the hole.

Then, climb the ladder in the building, walk across the pole, walk north, across another pole, and you should be at a fence. Cut it with your cutters.Once past the fence, go right. Across one more pole, then you’ll be on top of a small shed with a zipline on it. Use your zipline hook and fly over the wall to freedom!

Tips

JOBS
You generally don’t need to change jobs. The janitor pays well enough when coupled with favors and lets you wander freely.
DETECORS
There are none. Don’t worry about it.
THE COURTYARD
I have encountered a glitch where the guards will attack you the minute you set foot in the small gravel yard. Don’t carry contraband down there.
GUARDS
The guards are not your enemy here; your enemy is lack of resources. You need a LOT of timber and a LOT of files. Just take your time and don’t be brash.
FATIGUE
On the night of the escape (especially if you encounter rocks in the tunnel) you can be pretty farigued by the time you reach the fence. Don’t worry; just bring some chocolate and use on on yourself.
