Quick Guide to Equipment

Overview

A general look at stats of basic equipment.

Intro

WARNING! This guide contains spoilers about many items, if you want to enjoy figuring out item effects do not read this guide.

Hello and welcome to this little equipment database thing!

Keep in mind any of the listed stats/effects are subject to change, the guide will be updated accordingly.

Descriptions with a ” * ” are effects I haven’t figured out yet.

If you find any mistake or would like to add an item feel free to comment!

Stats

First lets take a look at what each of the basic stats do.

Stat
Description
STR
Increases your damage output by this number.
DEF
Decreases the damage taken from monsters by this number.
SPD
Increases your attack and movement speed.
MAG
Your max energy pool will be exactly this number, and max spell charges will be increased.
INT
Increases your sight range, trap detection distance and energy regeneration, also helps identifying potions.
LUC
Increases critical chance, apparently loot chance (I personally haven’t seen it work), and it gives you a small chance to evade deathblows.

Swords have moderate range and have balanced stats.

Special Stats

Look out for these special prefixes or suffixes on weapons:

Name
Description
Rending
Chance to cut a limb from the target.
Force
Chance to perform a strong knockback.
Light
Generates extra sight range.
Reach
Increases the range of the weapon.
Sensing
Grants you the telepath buff which marks enemies with a blue glow.
Thirsty
Gives you passive vampirism. [Thanks Terren]
Draining
Gives you passive vampirism. [Thanks The Mongoose]
Learning
Gives you “Likes X Weapon” passive which gets you more experience with that weapon. [Thanks The Mongoose]
Removal
Chance to teleport enemies away. [Thanks Wheezy F]

These prefixes have tiers, higher tiers have a higher chance of triggering the effect:

Hot
Infernal
Chance to burn the target, causes the target to run uncontrollably while taking damage.
Venomous
Nasty
?
Chance to poison the target, beware monsters killed by poison will generate poisoned food!
Buzzing
Charged
Amped
Chance to electrify the target, causes the target to be stunned every few seconds, also deals damage if the target is wet.
Cold
Glacier
Winter
Chance to freeze the target.

There are also some special prefixes that affect stats:

Keep in mind weapons can wear out after use, the special prefix order goes as follows (from best to worst)

Excellent > Good > None > Damaged > Broken > {This is the point where a weapon gets
destroyed}

Breathing

Boots

Boots currently have no stats, this will be changed if it’s updated.

Special:

Name
Description
Boost
Increases the maximum height of your normal jumps, highjumps are unaffected.
Glacier
Turns the tile you sprint on to ice, beware these are slippery! Also freezes enemies when stomping.
Spiked
Able to hold on to walls, also you no longer slip on ice.
Stoned
Makes you heavy which makes you land/sink faster, but all your jumps make a loud noise when landing. Also increases your stomping damage by 1.
Infernal
Burnsenemies on stomp. [Thanks FlamingSwampNinja]
Charged
Electrifies enemies on stomp.
Nasty
Poisons enemies on stomp.
Quick
Increases your movespeed. [Thanks Trey]
Gossamer
Allows you to walk on water. [Thanks Broken Ninja Boy] Also allows you to walk over pressure plates without triggering them. [Thanks An Undead Guy]
Winged
Makes you lighter and thus increasing the height of your jumps and slowing down falling speed, also enables you to do multiple jumps in midair. [Thanks Tewi Potato]
Blazing
Leaves a trail of fire when you sprint, beware these can burn you! Also burns enemies when stomping. [Thanks Wheezy F]
