A quick tutorial how to play this game. Takes just a few minutes and you will be exploring Asteria
How to make character and world
Okay, I think it is a no brainer how to make character and world but…
1st. Write your characters name and select any character outfit. All outfits are same, so pick one which pleases your eye most.
2nd. Create your first world, game automatically suggests clock time but you can rename it.
The controls and the start dungeon
Welcome to Asteria’s start dungeon! You cannot ever return here again unless you create a new world! (your previous stuff from old world will come with you)
Alright first controls:
- Left mouse key – Fire / Place selected quick bar item
- Left mouse key hold – Charge stronger attack (if item can be charged)
- Right mouse key – Use right mouse quick bar item
- W – opens chests and activates workbenches, switches etc.
- S – Lets you fall trough “iron bar” constructions
- A – moves towards left
- D – moves towards right
- Space – Jumps!
- No. 1 to 9 – Select quick bar item
- I, E or TAB – Opens inventory
- Alt + Enter – Enable / Disable Windowed mode
- F10 Enables/Disables Vsync (not recommended)
- Esc – Pause & Menu
And then the quickstart tutorial
You can see a red box front of you, these kind objects are chests. Open this with “W” key. You will get Iron Blaster, your very first weapon! It should go automatically to slot 1 and you can select different slot with number keys “1,2,3…7,8,9”.
Blaster fires without cooldown and charge a 4 times stronger attack by holding left mouse button (also shot flies a bit further).
Now kill those crabs! They have 11 hit points, you should get a few loots from them but go onwards into the dungeon killing crabs until you get to workbench. Activate it with “W” key and craft the Iron mining tool (the very first).
After you have manufactured it you need to equip it. Press “E”, “Tab” or “I” to open inventory and move iron mining tool to your quick bar slot No. 2 by dragging item there or with CTRL + left mouse button click on item.
Congratulations! You can now mine sand, iron and coal. Destroy the sand walls with iron mining tool and head towards the end of the dungeon towards portal. There are a few enemies, so kill them with your blaster.
Now you can explore dungeon a bit or just go trough portal. There are two hidden chests inside the start dungeon.
After starter dungeon
Now I am not going to spoill too much here but here are my tutorial words:
1st. You can return to “Overworld” spawn point from any where, any time by going to menu with “ESC” key and selecting Overworld spawn button.
2nd. This game is pretty much improving your gear always after each dungeon. Each dungeon boss drops or after him inside a chest is certain item that lets you craft next mining tool. This mining tool lets you mine minerals that your old mining wasn’t able to mine.
3rd. Inside your inventory you will find basic crafting button. Furnace lets you melt down ores you mine with mining tool, workshop bench lets you build basic items and next level workbench. Also you can craft lamps which are handy to give light in long tunnels you’re going to dig. Last basic craft item lets you build small iron bars in different shapes that can block water, sand etc from sliding inside your tunnel and gives you a foothold to climb up if you dig yourself into deadend.
4th. You can find dungeon portals with seekers which are craftable at your advanced workbench. They will fly in straight line towards the portal, so you don’t have to dig whole area to find the portal.
