Possible Methods to Save Asriel for Undertale

Possible Methods to Save Asriel

Overview

The only character in Undertale who doesn’t really get a happy ending is Asriel, and there are people who are absolutely determined to fix that. This guide is simply to help those people out with that. None of this stuff is confirmed to work, it’s just stuff that may or may not help in saving Asriel.

Introduction

(Let me start off by saying that there are major spoilers here, and I’m going into this assuming that you’ve already played this game through to the finish.)

There is only one character in Undertale that doesn’t get a happy ending, Asriel. He sacrifices himself and once again becomes an emotionless flower, not able to confront his parents. While it can be debated whether it is still a good ending or not, there are people out there that continue to play through the game in hopes that there is some way to save him and give Asriel a better ending. This guide is simply to help those people out, because their determination can’t be all for nothing. None of this stuff has been confirmed. This is just possible methods. Also, I don’t have many methods at the current moment, so it would be appreciated if you left your own methods in the comments.

Finding Flowey

One thing that many people may have missed during the game is that after certain events, you can backtrack in that room to get a glimpse of Flowey before he hides underground. Seeing that you can do this multiple times throughout the game, it is quite possible that something will happen if someone sees him at all possible times, even if it’s just some extra dialogue. Here are all the Flowey locations I currently know of:

Ruins:

-After Toriel tells you to wait in the long hallway.
-After talking to the third Froggit(the one that tells you about yellow names).

Snowdin’:

-After you hide behind a very conveniently shaped lamp.
-After solving the puzzle that looks like Papyrus’ face.
-After Papyrus deactivates “the gauntlet of deadly terror.”

Waterfall:

-After Papyrus calls you and tells you what he told Undyne you were wearing.

Hotland:

-After Mettaton’s fabulous cooking show.

The Core:

-After getting past the lasers that keep turning on and off.
-Possibly after Alphys tells you that you need a monsters soul to fo through the barrier.

New Home:

(unknown)

True Lab:

(unknown)

These are sadly the only Flowey locations I currently know of, so it would be appreciated if you could tell me of any locations that you’ve seen.

Items from the Past

This one’s a little short, but there’s a lot of items in the game that you can have by the end that Asriel could recognize. You could have Toriel’s pie, the heart locket, and the worn dagger, which is presumably Asgore’s gardening tool. Not to mention that Toriel will send you texts at the end of the game. But yeah. That’s it for this one.

Something to do with Genocide

Now, this is an absolute last resort, but its still a possiblity. There might be something to do with the Genocide route that will allow the player to truly save Asriel. I say this because at the end of the Genocide route, right before killing Flowey, he will talk in Asriel’s voice. Also, Chara is very close to him. So yeah. So something with that. Sorry that this one’s short too. There’s not exactly a lot to be said.

Simply Wait.

This method, by far is the easiest and simplest possible method to save Asriel, and that method is simply to wait. There’s plenty of stuff in the game that hints at Toby adding some new content to the game. I mean, he’s gotta do it eventually, right?

Closing

Yeah. That’s it. Sorry that this guide was short. If you have any other possible methods of saving Asriel, tthen please put that in the comments. Although, I especially need more Flowey sightings.
