Making Friends
alright let’s get started, the first thing you have to do is get eight hearts with any of the single characters (you can see who is single in the social tab), under the character’s names will have “single” if they can be romanceble, there are 12 character’s you can marry at the moment regardless of the gender, they are Sabastion, Harvey, Sam, Alex, Elliott, shane, Abigail, Haley, Leah, Maru, Penny and Emily.
to get eight hearts you need to give gifts, everyone has different reactions to each gift and some gifts are better than others, here’s a list for everyone’s best gifts
Sabastion: Frozen tear, Obsidian, Pumpkin soup, Sashimi and Void egg
Harvey: Coffee, Any Pickle, Super Meal, Truffle Oil and Any Wine
Sam: Cactus fruit, Maple bar, Pizza and Tigerseye
Alex: Complete breakfast and Salmon Dinner
Elliott: Crab cakes, Duck feather, Lobster, Pomegranage and Tom kha soup
Shane: Beer, Hot Pepper, Pepper Poppers and Pizza
Abigail: Amethyst, Blackberry cobbler, Chocolate cake, Pufferfish, Pumpkin and Spicy eel
Haley: Coconut, Fruit salad, Pink cake and Sunflower
Leah: Goat cheese, Poppyseed muffin, Salad, Stir fry, Truffle, Vegetable Medley, Wine
Maru: Battery pack, Cauliflower, Cheese cauliflower, Diamond, Gold bar, Iridium bar, Miner’s treat, Pepper Poppers, Rhubarb Pie and Strawberry
Penny: Diamond, Emerald, Melon, Poppy, Poppyseed muffin, Red Plate, Roots platter, Sandfish, Tom kha soup
Emily: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Cloth, Emerald, Jade, Ruby, Survival burger, Topaz and Wool
Getting a girlfriend/boyfriend
after you get eight hearts with any of the singles you will get a letter from Pierre saying how he noticed you have been close to some of the towns folk and that you can buy a bouquet, which will increase the total hearts to ten with the single you give one to( yeah i forgot to mention that all the singles will have eight at the start) then once you give a bouquet to someone either “boyfriend” or “girlfriend” will replace single depends which gender.
Marriage
so now you give presents until your girlfriend/boyfriend reaches ten hearts.
now hold your horses we are not done yet, before you marry them you have to first date them which long story short just enters another cutscene at a specific time and place.
once your done that you need to first buy a mermaids pendant and mayor lewis mentions this too but alas he doesn’t tell you where, so before you go adventuring to find one let me tell you how to get it, during rainy weather you need to go to the east beach and cross the plank which hopefully you rebuilt by now, if you didn’t then grab 300 wood and get building. at the eastern beach in rainy weather(therefore impossible to get during winter) there will be an old mariner who sells them for 5000 gold each so buy that once you got the money.
Married Life
ok now that you got your pendent, you have 10 hearts with them and dated them now’s the chance you don’t choke up and give the pendent to the character, once they accept they will get the ceremony ready in 3 days so til then just do your farming
on the day of the ceremony you will enter a cutscene right at the start of the day and there you go you are now married and congratulations 🙂
now your spouse will have a total of 12 hearts now and should still keep giving presents for a happy family even when it’s max so they will do chores and also give you presents and give you breakfast every so often.
Getting children
so a wife/husband ain’t enough? ok then so if you want kids then you will have to upgrade your house twice cuz that second upgrade will have the nursery. After you have the second upgrade there is a chance your spouse will ask if you want to have a child if you go to bed before them(before 10:00 pm) if you choose to say yes then after 14 days you will have a child in the crib.
there are four stages for a child:
Stage 1: your baby will just be sleeping and when you interact with them you’ll get a message saying “[child’s name] is sleeping.” at this point you can’t really do much with their relationship with you.
Stage 2: your baby will be awake and you can toss them in the air when right clicked on which will increase relationship with you
Stage 3: the baby starts to crawl around the house playing with toys or just sitting, you can right click them to “spend time” with and increase relationship, similar to pets and farm animals.
Stage 4: this is the final growth stage, your child will now stand on two legs and will often dash around the house, you can continue to increase relationship by right clicking.
after the baby has entered full toddler age in which they will stand, run around and sleep in the bed you can then get another child if your spouse asks again but you can only have 2 children at the time.
Getting rid of your family
So incase you changed your mind about your family and you don’t like a part of it if not all of it, there are ways to remove them.
Spouse:
If you want to divorce your spouse that’s simple assuming you don’t have troubles making money.
All you have to do is go to the mayers house and go to the book on the top left corner, right click it and then you will get a question to divorce your spouse for 50,000 gold, if you choose yes you will lose 50,000 gold and you spouse will leave the next day.
Once you do they will hate you meaning they will have 0 relationship levels with you and they will reject any gift you offer them even if it’s their favourite.
after they leave you can marry someone else normally or stay single if that’s what you choose.
incase you change your mind again in the future and want to remarry your divorced spouse you will have to finish the wizard’s quest which you get after rebuilding the community center or buying all the joja upgrades so you have access to the witches hut. in the hut there’s the Dark Shrine of Memory which will erase the memory of all divorced spouses so they wont remember ever meeting you, you you can give gifts to them again and marry.
Children:
Getting rid of your children can be a bit more difficult.
to get rid of them you have to have finished the wizard’s quest to have access to the Dark Shrine of Selfishness which turns all of your current children into doves for the cost of a prismatic shard, this is more challanging as the shard is a very rare drop.
it has a chance of being dropped by mummies, serpents, shadow shamans and shadow brutes, it can also be extracted from an omni geode, mined from mystic stone and gem node or found in a treasure chest from fishing.
this is a permanent process so you will never be able to recover those exact children but you can get more if you agree to get more with your spouse.
