Villagers Birthdays, A Guide On Favorites and Where or How to get them

Overview

Raise your hearts fast by giving them the stuff they love. This guide now includes ginger island content.

A Few Notes Before We Get Started

There might be a few grammar or spelling errors here. I did it all on a word document and I’m quite disappointed that it doesn’t look like I can just upload via file upload. Oh well.

This guide now includes Ginger Island information. I am not as familiar with it so if I left anything out that you notice, please hit me up.

• If you are cooking, “Vegetable Stew” is actually “Vegetable Medley”.
• Several involve a trip to the Calico desert. You can go there via the broken-down bus once you fully invest in the community center’s vault (or buy it I guess, I’ve never done Joja). Once the bus is fixed, pay your 500g and tadaaa! There you will find coconuts, cactus fruit, and the “Oasis” where Sandy works and sells exclusive seeds, one for each of the seasons (excluding winter, of course) Beets, Starfruit, and Rhubarb. These seeds can be bought at any time.
• If you plan to do a lot of cooking, it would be good idea to invest in a Mill so Pierre doesn’t keep draining your pockets. Robin will build it for 2,500g, 50 stone, 150 wood, and 4 cloth. The cloth will be the only difficult thing to come by. If you’re friends with Emily she might mail you one. The last barn upgrade, “Deluxe Barn” unlocks sheep (and pigs), sheep wool can be turned into cloth via the Loom.
• In terms of gifting, for artisan items (such as wine/jelly/pickles) use cheap ingredients. All they care about is whether or not it’s wine, jelly, or pickles.
• Several of these favorites originate from the Ginger Island. The location becomes available after the community center is repaired or you do whatever joja wants you to do. You will only be able to venture there once the boat in the back room of Willy’s shop is fixed. Willy does NOT have to be in his shop for you to travel to Ginger Island, and you’ll be able to travel as soon as 8am.

  New crops were introduced: Ginger, Mango Trees, Banana Trees, and Pineapple. Mango and Banana trees only produce in the summer in the Valley but will produce year round on the island.

Several seasonal crops can be milled into these ingredients: Rice, Flour, and Sugar.

Rice shoots grow in the spring and gives you unmilled rice, throw it in the mill for rice. 1 for 1. Wheat is both summer and fall crop, mill for flour 1 for 1. Beets will give you the sugar you need for all those villagers with a sweet tooth, beet seeds can only be bought from Sandy at Oasis in the Calico Desert and can only be planted in fall. 1 beet will give you 3 sugar.

**Plant Rice shoots near water to irrigate it, it not only cuts 2 days off the growth time but saves you the hassle and energy of watering them.

The Artisan Goods and Equipment

Artisan Goods are created through the use of Artisan Equipment. Several villagers have favorites that are that of Artisan Goods or their favorites require the use of equipment. Here is a list of what is required to make these goods.

Tapper
Maple Syrup is obtained by a tapper on a Maple tree (9 days) Oak Resin (used in crafting the keg) is obtained by a tapper on an Oak tree (7-8 days). Pine Tar (used in crafting the Loom) is obtained via Tapper on a Pine Tree (5-6 days)

• Foraging level 3

Bee House
Produces the honey required to make mead.

• Farming level 3
• 8 Coal
• 1 Iron Bar
• 1 Maple Syrup

Cheese Press
Pretty straightforward, turns milk into cheese.

• 1 copper bar

Keg
Keg is a big one.
Wheat = Beer ( 1 day )
5 Coffee Beans = Coffee ( 2 hrs)
1 Vegetable = Juice ( 4 days )
Honey = Mead ( 10 hrs )
1 Hops = Pale Ale ( 1-2 days )
1 Fruit = Wine ( 6.25 days )
1 Tea Leaf = Green tea ( 3 hrs)

*Tea leaves are introduced after you witness Caroline’s 2nd heart event, you’ll get the recipe the day after. It takes 2 wild seeds, 5 fiber, and 5 wood to make. It takes 20 days to grow into a tea bush that produces 1 leaf tea per day during the last week of each season (excluding winter, unless indoors). They do not need to be watered.

Loom
The Loom turn wool into cloth.

Mayonnaise Machine
Pretty straightforward. Eggs into Mayo.

Oil Maker
Oil Maker is used to make truffle oil, it can also be used to create cooking oil. One less thing to purchase from Pierre if you’re cooking!
To make cooking oil place the following in the oil maker.
Corn (Summer/Fall crop) = 16 hrs
1 Sunflower Seed (Summer/Fall flower) = 2 days
1 Sunflower (Summer/Fall flower) = 1 Hr

Preserves Jar
Last but not least! This is where you get pickles, jelly. It will also produce caviar and aged roe, but nobody loves those so they’re not important.
Vegetables = Pickles ( 2 – 3 days)
Fruit = Jelly ( 2 – 3 days)

*Void Chicken’s produce Void Eggs, but to get one of those you have to hatch one, in other words, the egg came before the chicken. This “guide” was meant to be just a list of villager’s birthdays and their favorites, but when I thought that it might be of interest to others it got way out of hand, hopefully to your benefit.

Changes:

• Island content was added. I am not as familiar with Ginger Island, but I hope to have covered what needed to be covered.
• Fixed code in Fall Birthdays that had Sandy and everyone after her nudged a smidge to the right.
