This is a guide on how to get all of the Rarecrows in Stardew Valley. (May Contain minor spoilers)
Introduction
In Stardew Valley there are 8 unique uncraftable scarecrows called “Rarecrows”. Rarecrows have the same function as the regular craft-able scarecrow but they look different and are obtained differently. If you obtain all 8 rarecrows in the game you unlock the crafting recipe for the Deluxe Scarecrow the next day. (Guide may contain minor spoilers)
Rarecrow 1/8 – Turnip Head
Rarecrow 1/8 | This Rarecrow can be purchased at the Stardew Valley Fair Shop for 800 Star Tokens. The Stardew Valley Fair occurs on the 16th of Fall annually at 9:00 AM. Betting on green when playing the spinning wheel is the best way to earn these Star Tokens.
Rarecrow 2/8 – Witch
The witch Rarecrow can be acquired by purchasing it for 5000g at the Spirit’s Eve festival which occurs annually on the 27th of Fall between 10:00pm and 11:30pm.
Rarecrow 3/8 – Alien
Rarecrow 3/8 is the hardest and most expensive Rarecrow to obtain. You can get this Rarecrow for 10,000 Qi coins (or 100,000g if you exchange gold for Qi coins) at the Casino in the Calico Desert which is located in the upstairs floor of Oasis. The Calico Desert is unlocked after repairing the bus through the community center or JojaMart. The player must reach level 120 in the mines to start quests for Mr Qi. All of Mr Qi’s quests must be completed before unlocking the casino.
Rarecrow 4/8 – Snowman
The Snowman Rarecrow can be purchased from the Travelling Merchant for 4000g in Cindersap Forest southwest of your farm in Fall and Winter. The Travelling cart is only there on Sundays and Fridays and items sold at the shop are random and this Rarecrow has a 40% chance to be there each time.
Rarecrow 5/8 – Female Scarecrow
The Female Scarecrow can be purchased at the Flower Dance for 2500g which occurs every 24th of Spring in Cindersap forest.
Rarecrow 6/8 – Dwarf
Rarecrow 6/8 can be obtained by purchasing it for 2500g from the Dwarf who resides in the mines. To access the Dwarf and his shop the player must have a steel pickaxe or a bomb to break the rock just inside the entrance of the mine. To be able to speak to the dwarf the player must also have donated all 4 Dwarf Scrolls to the museum.
Rarecrow 7/8 – Raccoon
The Raccoon Rarecrow can be acquired from Gunther at the Museum after the player has donated 20 artifacts to the museum. (Minerals don’t count)
Rarecrow 8/8 – Tiki Mask
The Tiki Mask Rarecrow can be acquired in a similar way to the Raccoon Rarecrow, except both artifacts and minerals count towards the Tiki Mask Rarecrow. The player must donate 40 items to the museum and then Gunther will give the player this Rarecrow.
