FTL: Faster Than Light Guide

Room sizes in all ship layouts for FTL: Faster Than Light

Room sizes in all ship layouts

Overview

This guide is meant to fill in the information that is accessible through the game and Wiki, but in a vertical fashion – one place to see them all (instead of checking every thing out ship by ship). I haven’t found a nice source for some information regarding the Player Ships – e.g. “if I buy a teleporter, how many people/aliens will I be able to transport at one time?”.So, in the spriit of sharing knowledge that might be useful for someone, I decided to pull the data once and upload it for everyone to see and be able to use.

Introduction

Remember to (up)rate. You can Favourite the guide too – it will show up higher in the list for you and you will be able to access it via one click after opening the Steam overlay :)!

Hello!
This guide is meant to fill in the information that is accessible through the game and Wiki, but in a vertical fashion – one place to see them all (instead of checking every thing out ship by ship). I haven’t found a nice source for some information regarding the Player Ships – e.g. “if I buy a teleporter, how many people/aliens will I be able to transport at one time?”.

So, in the spriit of sharing knowledge that might be useful for someone, I decided to pull the data once and upload it for everyone to see and be able to use.

DISCLAIMER AND ATTRIBUTION

Images are taken from the Official FTL Wiki[ftl.wikia.com] and belong to their respective authors. The wiki is totally public and I am, in spirit of sharing the re-hashed knowledge, posting it here.

The guide wouldn’t be possible without this on-line tool for BBCode and e.g. helping with tables[www.teamopolis.com]. I wouldn’t have bothered making it in the notepad…

Since Steam does not like wide guides or really big chapters filled with text, the main data table had to be cut into three parts.

Legend:
“-” means that it is impossible to get the system using the ship.
Bold values mean it’s an unusual size room
Underlined values mean it would not be possible to micromanage an 8-person Zoltan crew efficiently with that small room (e.g. Shields with only 2 squares on Engi Cruiser B) and/or there is a downside to that particular size of that room (e.g. Mantis A with its 4 square Battery).

The data table, part 3

These are the systems most unlikely (Artillery) or impossible (Doors, Sensors, Piloting) to be powered by Zoltan crew.
