Overview
A list of scenarios that aim to keep the Ravenfield experience fresh.
Operation Smoke Hole, 1962
During the oil crisis of 1962, the Eagle Coalition attempted to starve the Raven Republic into surrendering several of its colinies by establishing blockades across the vast majority of the world’s sea lanes.
The Republic responded with “Operation Smoke Hole”, an airborne assault against an Eagle held island that was blessed by copious oil reserves. Wrongly suspecting that the Republic did not have the stomach for resumed hostilities after the conclusion of the Second Avian War, the Eagle Coalition and then only global super power, was caught completely off guard by the attack.
Operation Smoke Hole is a campaign-type series of scenarios that players must complete in order.
On the morning of the 17th of June, Eagle radars on the Island picked up several slow moving high altitude objects approaching their positions. Believing there were no Raven forces in the area, they dismissed it as a glitch in their systems – until visual was made on the fleet of Raven aircraft high in the skies above.
So unexpected was the Raven assault, that the Raven paratroopers were able to secure the initial objective – the Farm – without a shot fired. Lacking any aircraft to intercept the transport planes, the Eagles could only watch as their enemy para-dropped in enasse and errected their defences around the Farm.
It quickly became clear to Eagle ground commanders that this was just the opening scene in a large scale invasion; if the paratroopers were able to keep a foothold on the Island, then they would be able to secure a beachead for much more significant landing forces.
With this in mind, the Eagles launched a massive coordinated assault against the Raven paratroopers, hoping to squash the invasion before it had a chance to fully take root.

The 18th of June gave way to fields of Eagle corpses, smouldering tanks and blackened skeletal remains of helicopters. The Eagle commanders had gambled on an all out assault, but pitched against the elite Raven paratroopers, their forces had been hopelessly crushed.
Now the Raven Home Fleet had arrived off the coast, and after an initial bombardment, was able to clear the Eagles from Backside. Reinforcements hit the beaches quickly afterwards, landing men and material in droves. The Eagles found themselves facing an impossible situation, yet they were determined to hold on to the last man – besides, reinforcements of their own were on the way.
It became a race against time. If the Eagles could hold on long enough, then the Eagle Pacific Fleet would arrive to crush the Raven Home Fleet; if the Ravens took the island, then they would be very hard to evict and an Eagle naval victory would no longer be assured.

After a savage battle, the Raven forces were able to gain almost complete control of the Island. Hundreds of Eagle soldiers have been taken into captivity, and the rest have been killed in battle. Operation Smoke Hole is coming to its desired close.
Or is it?
On the 19th of June, the Fort had been recaptured by a desperate Eagle counter-attack. Dug in behind heavy concrete walls, the men of the 10th Infantry Regiment fought a continuous fire-fight against the Raven aggressors.
With the Eagle Pacific Fleet only a day away, the Raven Home Fleet has withdrawn to safety – until the fate of the Island can be guarenteed. Therefore, the only way the Ravens are going to clear the island, is to forcibly remove the Eagle 10th Infantry Regiment from the Fort – at any and all costs.

As the 20th of June dawned, the situation had become painfully clear. Having exhausted themselves against the Eagle defenders, and with the Eagle Pacific Fleet narrowing in, the Ravens had to bitterly bring the operation to an end. They had failed to capture the island, and without using it as a strong point, the Raven Home Fleet would not have been able to stand up to the Eagle Pacific Fleet in an open contest of arms.
And so, the order was given for a general retreat. The 50th Raven Armoured Corps held the rear guard as other forces were airlifted from the island, repelling wave after wave of Eagle assaults from the sea.
Now, it is their turn to flee. As Eagle reinforcements close in from all sides, the 50th Armoured Corps must break through their encirclement and reach the Backside for evacuation.

Operation Smoke Hole was a complete disaster from a tactical and strategic point of view. The Raven Republic had wasted the precious few resources it still retained in launching the effort, and now the Eagle Coalition had a legitimate reason to launch the Third Avian War.
The political fall out at home would cause the Raven democratic government to collapse under a tidal wave of domestic pressure, paving the way for the rise of the Raven Empire and the events that would occur in the decades after Operation Smoke Hole.

Operation Knock Down, Third Avian War
The year is 1968, aproximately 6 years after the disasterous Raven invasion of Island. The prospect of the Third Avian War has been looming ever since, but the Eagle Coalition was held back by a series of anti-war leaders who had campaigned relentlessly for peace.
The assassination of President Aquil Hawk by agents of the Raven Empire at the 38th Coalition Congress put an end to such noble endeavours. The man had been the last bulwark for peace between the Coalition and the Empire, and his murder would be the harbinger of war.
It took less than a week for the massive military might of the Eagle Coalition to mobilize for war, and their fleets took to the oceans with one aim: to destroy the Raven Empire.
The Raven Empire meanwhile, despite its name, was very much the dwarf in the conflict. Why its leaders wanted a war they could never hope to win, was beyond anyone’s guess. Yet all agreed that they had poked a bear they could not hope to wrestle with.
Unknown to all, the Third Avian War would bring the world to its knees.
The 3rd Eagle Atlantic Fleet appeared off the coast of the Raven homeland on the 16th of May, 1968, and via radio issued an ultimatum to the Raven Empire’s government: Surrender unconditionally, or face total annihilation. They recieved no response.
Whilst waves of carrier-based bombers took to the airs to bombard the Raven cities further inland, it fell to the men of the Eagle 2nd Light Armour Division to drive home the ground conflict. They landed at Coastline, the chief Raven coastal settlement, and prepared themselves for a bloody uphill struggle against the Raven garrison upon the Bluff.

With the Bluff secured, the 2nd Light Armoured Division was set to push into Coastline-proper. Having easily routed the Raven garrison upon the Bluff and gained a superior firing position over the town, Eagle commanders were already planning their next operation with victory at this stage looking secured.
However, little known to the Eagles, the Raven Empire had played its trump card. The Raven 57th Ariborne Regiment had landed in Coastline overnight, whilst elements of the small yet potent Raven navy slipped through the Eagle blockade. The 57th Raven Airborne Regiment was a crack team of elite soldiers, battle hardened, well trained and well equipped. Their unit had earned legend status during Operation Smoke Hole, and the Empire had flaunted them as “the unbeatable warriors” ever since. This myth was to be put to the test.
On the morning of the 17th of May, the Eagles rolled towards the town, and were met by fierce and unexpected resistance.

The battle for Coastline took a heavy toll on the 2nd Light Armoured Division; with over 70% casualties, a heavy price was paid for the town. Realising the unit had now become dangerously vulnurable and under strength, Eagle commanders recalled it back to the fleet for rearming.
Operation Knock Down was tempoarily halted, as reinforcements were prepared. The 10th Eagle Infantry Regiment was left to hold the town until the following day, by which time they would be relieved by a renewed 2nd Light Armoured Division. Intelligence reports had indicated that the Raven forces in the area had been largely routed or destroyed.
This ignorance gave the Raven Empire all it needed to inform the Eagles of one thing: the war would not be nearly as easy as it should have been.
As night fell on 17th of May, the battered 57th Airborne Regiment supported by elements of the 91st Armoured Corps and the 19th Airborne Regiment, launched a counter-attack against Eagle positions. It appeared that the Ravens were proving themselves masters of stealth, seemingly able to insert and withdraw units at will without being detected.
Still… It is said that the Raven commanders swore profusely when they realised that their enemy was the same 10th Infantry Regiment that thwarted Raven efforts in Operation Smoke Hole all those years ago.

Morning has brought the 10th Infantry Regiment no reprieve from the incessant Raven assault, even as the bodies continue to pile up against the beleaguered Eagle defences. Teetering on the edge of complete destruction, the commanders of the 10th Infantry Regiment becomes puzzled by the lack of reinforcements.
The 2nd Light Armoured division has not landed as planned, and worse, the 3rd Atlantic Fleet has gone dark. Cut off from reinforcements and communications, the 10th Infantry Regiment can do little but fight on to the bitter end – or until their much needed reinforcements arrive.
Yet as morning gives way to the afternoon, Raven landing craft are sighted off the coast, and they quickly seize control of the norterhn beach. Meanwhile, a flight of Raven aircraft stream across the sky, disgorging paratroops onto the Bluff.
The 10th Infantry Regiment is surrounded, cut off and effectively blind. Surrender at this point would be the sane thing to do.
But as the Ravens mass for their final attack, the 10th Infantry Regiment prepares a daring offensive of its own — hoping beyond hope that it can catch the Raven forces by surprise and drive them from Coastline, no matter what the odds.
Out numbered, out gunned and helplessly pinned, the 10th Infantry Regiment would have it no other way.

The 10th Infantry Regiment, despite its dire situation, was able to defeat a much larger and much better equipped Raven force, effectively enforcing a stale-mate across the entire Coastline sector. Lacking the men and material to push home their stunning success, they can but sit and wait behind their battered defences for the 3rd Atlantic Fleet to re-establish contact.
The Raven forces meanwhile, humbled and dumb struck by their inability to destroy a single Infantry Regiment, have contented themselves with regrouping – though it will be some days before they can make another attempt to evict the Eagle invaders.
In any case it seems Operation Knock Down, far from paving the way to the Raven heartlands, has ended in abrupt failure.
Meanwhile, a hundred miles west, the Ravens are enjoying their first major military victory since the early years of the Second Avian War…
Dragontide Offensive, Third Avian War
As the military might of the Eagle Coalition assailed the Raven Empire from all angles, knocking holes in its defences and bombing its cities into the ground, Emperor Hawkven I revealed to the world his mastery in all matters military.
Utilizing state of the art radar jamming and communications interference technology, the Empire was able to mobilize extensive forces in key strategic areas under the Coalition’s nose. This had been demonstrated, unknowingly to the Eagles, repeatedly at Coastline.
And so, whilst the Eagle Coalition struggled to capture Coastline, Emperor Hawkven I launched an ambitious offensive of his own aimed directly at the strongest point of Coalition’s military – their naval supremacy.
The Eagle 3rd Atlantic Fleet is anchored a hundred miles to the west of Coastline, comfortably enjoying total naval and air supremacy. Convinced via their extensive intelligence network, that the Raven Home Fleet has gone to ground several hundred miles to the south, the fleet’s admiral’s chief concern is waging amphibious operations against the Imperial heartlands.
And so when an entire fleet of Raven ships appeared on the horizon as the sun rose on the 19th of May, panic was very much the word of the day. Hastily the 3rd Atlantic Fleet attempted to organise itself into an effective battle formation, but communications between ships were hampered by electronic interference. Furthermore, the admiral’s distress calls to the nearby 4th and 5th fleets went completely unanswered.
The largest Eagle naval force in the Atlantic theatre, the 3rd Fleet prepared itseld for the onslaught as the entirety of the Raven Home Fleet fell upon it with all the fury of an avenging angel.

Outcome:
With the 3rd Atlantic Fleet at the bottom of the ocean, the Emperor was merciless in pressing home his advantage. The 4th and 5th fleets, completely oblivious to the peril, were similarly isolated and destroyed by the Raven Home Fleet.
Within a single week, the Empire had dealt a catastrophic blow to the Coalition’s naval supremacy. Worse, was that Eagle High Command simply had no idea what was going on, and had to rely on old methods of communications to paint a somewhat detailed picture of events. Because of this, it would take months before the Coalition was able to effectively respond to the Empire.
In the meantime, the Emperor intended very much to destroy the myth of Coalition invulnerability; it was time to roll back the Eagle ground offensives across his Empire.
Battle of Red Waters

Archipelago, Raven protectorate island
Battle of Red Waters
The Island Nation of Archipelago was seized by Rebels backed by Raven Intelligence operatives. The Democratic government was forced to disband and the Raven Empire established a puppet state under Supreme Leader Vincent Karlsson. The Islands small defence force was all but destroyed when a Archipeligan private by the name of Daniel Larson sent out a message on all frequencies to any nearby military vessels to send help.
The 21st Eagle Training fleet was 150 nautical miles east of the Island state when they received the distress signal. All other military vessels where weeks away and wouldn’t be able to reach the Island in time. The training fleet had a regiment of newly recruited marines who had were training to operate landing crafts and deploy quickly. Onboard the Aircraft carrier Blue Stork was a group of navy pilots training to land on an aircraft carrier. The Grim admiral made the choice to suspend training and push an all out assault on the Island before the situation could deteriorate.
Men from the 44th Eagle marines would land via RHIBs and storm the defences while pilots from the 89th fighter group would provide air support. Raven backed rebels prepared for a fight as a raven reconnaissance plane alerted them to the incoming fleet. The Raven forces largely overestimated the attack confusing the training fleet for the 12th Eagle carrier group which hold 12,000 marines and 500 spec ops Hexagon troopers. Raven Airborne troops positioned themselves in rebel built redoubts and even built an airfield.

The inexperienced men of Company C planned to drive down the main road in a convoy of captured supply trucks until they reached the harbor were they would cover and move from building to building carrying the much needed supplies.
The last remaining defenders of the Capitol were the men of Companies D and K along with multiple drill sergeants and training staff who were retired vets from the insurgency in the Dust Bowl. these defenders caught wind of the 57th airbornes landing and had sent multiple runners to Company C. Conclusion
The loss of Archipelago and of the 44th Eagle Marines was a shock to the world. The repercussions were so great that the 21st Training fleet was disbanded and its admiral dishonorably discharged from the navy. A memorial can be found in the Eagle coalition’s capital to commemorate the valor of the 44th marines who where only 2 weeks away from finishing training and being deployed. This defeat sparked protests to end all hostilities with the Raven Empire. An eagle police officer accidentally fired a shot into the protest which injured the mother of Lieutenant Wilson, other officers hearing the shot thought it was a terrorist attack and mistakenly emptied their magazines into the protestors.
Bloody Wednesday as it was later called was what triggered the beginning of the Eagle civil war which divided the Coalition into two sides. The Civil war raged for 25 years and when it was over the world would never be the same.

Operation Loot and Boot
February 2, 2063
Raven Capital, Coastline City
Operation Loot and Boot
Two years after the Eagle Civil war, victorious rebel forces setup the Eagle Avian Socialist Republic. Lacking in resources, the new government put together a wild plan to capture and loot the Raven empire’s capital city. The battle hardened 1st EASR infantry regiment was put to the task immediately. The 1st’s Colonel was told that they would attack during a military parade on the celebration of the Raven Empires founding, while the populus was distracted by the ceremony they would launch an amphibious invasion and seize a dockyard and multiple supply depots. After capturing those points the men would capture the town and loot everything then quickly flee back to their dropships to escape.
The bewildered Colonel told Eagle command that a single regiment would not stand a chance at capturing the capital of a major super power during a military parade no less. The Colonel swore up and down that he would never betray the EASR but that his men would not stand a chance seizing the city and that the Operation was insanity to any military commander anywhere around the world. Later that day as the Regiment prepared to leave under their new Colonel a message came in that the emperor of the Raven Empire was to be at the ceremony under heavy military guard.

Those socialists probably need supplies badly to reconstruct after a 25 year long war.’ as he thought this he gazed out onto the beautiful paradise ocean. In the distance he saw a small speck that grew bigger and bigger and then more specks and then a giant landing force covered in EASR insignia.
As the 1st regiment landed on the beaches an army of spec ops Red Dove troopers prepared to defend the capital and most of all the emperor. Heavy machine guns and TOW launchers swiveled into action as 1st infantry soldiers attempted to overrun Raven defenses. Artillery shells pounded the beaches and MGs ripped up any exposed Eagles. The Chaos known to man as Operation Loot and Boot
5 days earlier the EASR military command had an order of 1,000 Blue hearts shipped to the department of war to be sent to all the family members of the 1st Regiment. The top ranking generals all agreed that the 1st would never see home again and would all die for their country. That was the plan of course! How better to control a people then to have them afraid of an enemy that could strike at any time.
1st Regiment, A Company, 3rd platoon the stuff of nightmares. These tough as nails soldiers had been with the EASR from the start and had fought everything from cops to Spec Ops Hexagon troopers. As the battle raged they had made headway and captured the bridge, a key strategic point that let them hold the entire eastern outskirts of the Capital. In the mayhem that had followed the beach landings 3rd platoon had pushed back counter attacks and layed suppressive fire on MGs and TOWs to help the advance. Taking only 3 casualties ( 1 of which was KIA) they were the least touched unit in the whole regiment.
When 3rd platoon got their orders they’d fight to the end to carry them out. Thus, when A company was told to capture the cliffs to allow sniper teams to cover troops anywhere on the field they were the first to move into action. With practically all the troops in the Raven army fighting the 1st EASR in Coastline, the Dustbowl refinery went practically unguarded.
The EASR was currently developing different fuels, but needed oil to power the military machine…
With the previously deposed colonel at it’s head, the 2nd EASR built an airstrip on the outskirts of the town under the cover of darkness. The Ravens didn’t expect such an attack, so they were unprepared for the fury of which the 2nd EASR would pounce upon them.

Some natives are dissastisfied with the working conditions and form a revolution.
Catching wind of this operation, the EASR sent the 2nd EASR (of which the 2nd marines were a part of) to support the insurgents. The 2nd Airborne and 2nd Marine would support the insurgents to take over the Eclipse fortress. The 2nd Airborne dropped in overnight and took over the walled city. Morning greeted them to a large Raven force and no EASR marines.
The Eagle force dug in and prepared to fight to the last man, like the 10th Infantry did long ago.

Major Raven City, Eclipse Reigon
Operation Eclipse
The garrison of the city has managed to hold until night fall, a day later. Under cover of night, a carrier managed to sneak into the reigon with most of the 2nd Marines, and enough fire-power to push home the land battle against the Ravens.
Apparently, the 2nd Naval force got stuck in some technical difficulties near the Island, and then the Raven Home Fleet just happened to come by, so while the 2nd EASR battled the Raven Home Fleet, the carrier got away and pulled up outside the Eclipse reigon.
With this new section of the EASR in, the Ravens played their Trump Card: the 57TH AIRBORNE!!! They managed to drop in and re-take the outpost (somehow overrun by the Eagles) and the Raven forces have regrouped to thwart the Eagle threat.
Player Team: Eagle
Balance: 50-50
Vehicles: All Original
Mode: Point Match – Long
Objective: Fight your way through the Harbour & South Checkpoint to relieve the city’s garrison.
~1st July, 2063~
Major Raven City, Eclipse Reigon
Operation Eclipse
The 1st of July revealed to extent of the Eagle push. Not only was half the wall captured, but the garrison was relieved and the 57th Airborne was (somehow) pushed out of the outpost. Knowing what would happen if the Ravens were cornered, the colnel of the 2nd EASR ordered the Fortress be taken, but the North Checkpoint and Airfield were to be untouched, and the Harbour vacated.
In the Reigon, there were rumors of a new weapon to have been developed by the Ravens, a weapon to equalise a 100 v. 1 fight – It’s name was the Anti-Aircraft Akimbo Autimaticos. Hearing of this, the colnel set our to retrieve it.
Thus, the next part of the operation was launched…
Player Team: Eagle
Balance: 60-40 in favour of Eagles
Vehicles: All Original
Mode: Point Match: Long

To be continued…
