1 The Dumb Way
On a goldsrc game click enable HD models if available and go on
Steam/steamapps/common/Half-Life and on every game where you don’t want it HD delete any folder that goes by your game of choice _hd
E.G
- (Half-Life) valve_hd
- (Counter-Strike) cstrike_hd
There are also some games that use their initials for their game
E.G
- (G-Invasion ‘HL Mod’) gi
- (Zombie Panic ‘HL MOD’) zp
- (Day of Defeat) dod
2 The Smart Way
In library right-click your goldsrc game and click “properties” click a button named
“Set Launch Options” and type
“+_sethdmodels X” without the quotation marks, where it says X you place your number
- 1 For yes
- 0 For no
Repeat until done to all goldsrc games, no matter how many you have.
3 Help my HD Pack isn’t changing
Oh, you’ve either bought “Half-Life: Blue Shift” or “Half-Life: Opposing Forces”…
They had the HD pack forced on, theres only one option that has only been released recently. Here’s what you need to do;
Right-click that game
- Click Properties
- Click Updates
- Click current version
There will be a version named steampipe…
- Click steampipe
3.1 Help I can’t change it in the GUI (FIX from 1)
In Library right-click your game click properties click Local Files and click Verify Integrity Of Game Files
3.11 Fix from 2
Go on all of your games launch options and untype what I told you to type in there.
Then experience the obtuse…ness of the HD pack option.
3.2 Not working on my mods!
There are some mods for Half-Life, like Counter-Strike, & TFC which are actually Half-Life mods sold on steam but on modding sites you can also find things like the original Zombie Panic and stuff like that, some of them will have HD Packs, and some will not, watch out for this.
End
Any problems? Send them to me! I’ll (probably) message you within the day.
