Golden Eye: Source
GoldenEye: Source is a Multiplayer only total conversion modification of Half-Life 2. It is a fan made recreation, released for free, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source Technology. We want you to look at this mod and remember the first best multiplayer first-person shooter ever made. We are doing our best to bring in the opinions of the community to create a game that everyone is going to enjoy. But, we are not here to recreate the game exactly how it was in GE64, a lot of things have changed since they first designed that game, mainly in technology and gamers experiences. We are here to take the game even further but at the same time provide a lot of those fun elements that hardcore GE64 fans will enjoy. We’ve got experienced team members all across the board, from professional level, to amateurs looking to make it into the business working hard to make this dream a reality.
Underhell
Underhell is a Source Engine game developed by the Underhell Team in collaboration with We Create Stuff. Underhell Chapter 1 requires ONLY Source SDK Base 2007 installed. No Source game is required.
Nightmare House 2
Nightmare House 2 is a horror themed modification for the Source Engine.
The mod started as a small map pack for Half-Life 2 in 2005. Nightmare House 2 is to continue the bizarre story of the stranger who had the misfortune to crash his car outside an old house with a horrific past.
In Nightmare House 2 you wake up inside an abandoned hospital with no understanding of how you came to be there, only a vague memory of the girl from Nightmare House haunts you. Soon it will be difficult to determine between a dream and reality. How long will it take you to realize that escape is not an option?
Silent Hill: Alchemilla
Alchemilla Mod is an attempt to recreate original atmosphere of cult game Silent Hill on the Source Engine. It is not a rebuild of one of the games of series, it is its own history on its own reasons. Above all things is a project developed for fanatics of the original game.
Missing Information
Missing Information aims to recreate Valve’s original Half-Life 2 storyline found in Raising the Bar.
Dear Esther
A deserted island… a lost man… memories of a fatal crash… a book written by a dying explorer. Dear Esther is a ghost story told using first-person gaming technologies. Rather than traditional gameplay, the focus here is on exploration, uncovering the mystery of the island, of who you are and why you are here. Fragments of story are randomly triggered by moving around the environments, making every telling unique. Features a stunning, specially commissioned soundtrack. Forget the normal rules of play; if nothing seems real here, it’s because it may just be all a delusion. What is the significance of the aerial – What happened on the motorway – is the island real or imagined – who is Esther and why has she chosen to summon you here? The answers are out there, on the lost beach and the tunnels under the island. Or then again, they may just not be, after all…
G String
The air is foul and corporate fascism reigns in the not too distant future. Somewhere in the North American Union you are Myo Hyori, an 18 year-old girl of Korean descent who has had enough. Oh and you can start fires- with your mind. This makes your corporate owners very nervous…
SMod
SMOD is a single player mod of Valve’s first-person shooter Half-Life 2. The new content consists of many new NPCs and weapons, new gamemodes, comprehensive customization and tweaking options, new abilities for the player, and new features to the gameplay, such as level randomization and simple branching in the otherwise linear flow of the main episodes.
New weapons
SMOD adds over 20 weapons to the single player game, as well as custom weapon scripts that can import weapons from other Source engine games such as Counter-Strike, or create new ones from scratch. Most weapons now allow you to look down the sights when a key is pressed while holding them. This can affect other aspects of the game, such as movement speed and accuracy.
Bullet time
Bullet time slows the game environment and makes physics, enemy reactions, and even bullets move at an extremely slow pace. It also produces visual effects that are similar to the ones in F.E.A.R. As with the flashlight and sprinting, the player’s auxiliary battery is drained by bullet time, but at a much faster rate.
Gordon’s kick
A melee attack possibly inspired by a similar move in the game Duke Nukem 3D. The move is fully integrated into the physics engine so if you kick an object, it can be sent flying. The strength of the kick varies depending on the inertia of the player and the kick_powerscale setting. A quirk of the attack is the ability to create a dark energy orb (like those fired from the AR2) after approximately 10 rapid kicks, after which the orb can be kicked toward hostiles.
New NPCs
These includes the attack drone, rebel Combine troops, houndeyes, fully working stalkers, optically camouflaged troops, and ‘super soldiers’ with antlion-like jumping capabilities. Combine soldiers can be set to use energy-based riot shields which block bullets and add to game difficulty. They may also randomly appear with specially colored uniforms that allow them to take a huge amount of damage. Human NPCs can use most of the new weapons the mod adds to the game.
Enhanced visual effects
SMOD adds many new tweaks and improvements to the graphics of the Source engine. A few examples of the new effects that can be seen are: motion blur, dynamic muzzle fire lighting, depth of field effects for weapons, and greatly improved particle effects.
New functionality
Many weapons and objects can be used in new ways with SMOD. For example, the crowbar can be thrown at enemies with secondary fire, and similar to Garry’s Mod, props in a level can be replicated and manipulated, then used for various purposes.
New events and plot content
Examples include the skippable episode “Where’s my Boat?”, and the infamous “Pick up the can” officer burning to death because the can has been replaced with a gas tank.
Gore
The mod adds several visceral features, such as new blood decals, twitching bodies, spurting blood from fatal wounds that splashes onto nearby objects, and gibbing (with edible gibs that increase health). These options can be switched off to reduce the gore level for a more sensitive audience.
MINERVA – Metastasis
The true method of knowledge is experiment. So, strapped to the underside of a stolen Combine helicopter, you’re part of my latest scientific investigation. Objective: To infiltrate and observe this peculiar little island a few miles off shore, its heart burrowed out by our ever-loving benefactors…
Estranged
Estranged, the story of a lone fisherman, stranded on a mysterious island during a violent storm. Explore rich environments and meet the curious inhabitants of the island as you find a way back to the mainland.
Dark Interval
Dark Interval is a restoration/revision mod that lets you play Half-Life 2 as it could have been: with custom maps, new voiced dialogue, new models and textures, all based on Valve’s early concepts. The mod is released in episodes, the most recent being Dark Interval: Part I – an intro chapter to the bigger story.
Wilson Chronicles
You are the Major Darren Wilson; working in the Military Research Division of the Black Mesa Research Facility based in New Mexico. As you step into the suit of this great hero something goes terribly wrong. Recent events of system failures and corrupted terminals have been leading to the ultimate disaster that would change the world forever. You, unlike most of your colleagues, survive only to witness the once clean heavenly hallways turn into a battle ground of terror and death. The military and aliens begin war as you’re stranded underground. By any means necessary you must reach the surface, and trust no one..
The Citizen
The Citizen is set parallel to the events of the original Half-Life 2. The player takes the role of an ordinary man, pushed over the edge by the oppressive regime controlling his life. His home trashed, his family dead, The Citizen leaves his apartment for the last time. He seeks new friends, and a way to help the human resistance to smash the iron grip of the Combine. What follows is a winding tale of betrayal, determination and grief. Many obstacles lie in his path which require a sleek combination of agility, stealth, intelligence, and sheer violence to overcome.
The Citizen Part 2
Set in and around City 17, “The Citizen Part Two” contains the next three chapters of our citizen’s story. After the events of the previous two chapters, you find yourself rescued from the grave by rebels, among whom you are now a valuable asset. Taken to a makeshift field hospital, you recover in the hands of rebel medics. But the Combine are determined to crush the rebels out of existence, and the peace can’t last long. You will face choices, and how you decide to proceed will ultimately dictate how the story plays out for you. Some choices are less obvious than others, and require you to take initiative where you otherwise might be distracted. One way or another, it’s time to take back the city.
Get A Life
In “Get a Life” you embody Alexander Zemlinsky, a subway technician suffering from leukaemia.
Alex is not, unlike the protagonists in most games, an invincible super-soldier. But you wouldn’t call him normal either, because there is something in his past that connects him with the events that are about to happen in the course of the story (we want to keep the suspense, so nothing more on that…). “Get a Life” will feature different environment settings presented in more than 24 maps, all of them connected to the scenario of the mod. GaL will offer about 11 hours of pure gameplay pleasure.
Curse
Curse Episodes is a Half-Life 2 single player total conversion : a mix of physics based combat, puzzles and exploration. In the first episode you can explore an egyptian necropolis and kill mummies, monsters with a morning star.
Perfect Dark: Source
Perfect Dark … This game had an incredible success, but you already know that. This game would deserve one minute of silence, in order to let us remember all the good moments spent in its company. We’re trying to recreate all what we loved with using all the power we need provided by the Source Engine. We all dream to make revive this game, with physics and graphics up to date, with keyboard and mouse, with all the weapons and game mod we loved. An incrediblibly old-school gameplay meeting the next-generation requierements! Questions?
Strider Mountain
AT 30,000 FEET… you are almost 6 miles (9.7 km’s) above sea level. The human body is not made for these conditions. Temperatures can plummet to -60F (-51C), the brain is starved for oxygen and each step is a new experience in pure agony. It’s difficult to breathe. It’s difficult to think. It’s difficult to move. And you still have to endure another 444 feet (0.14 km’s) to get to the peak. So much for the good news.
STORYLINE: SURVIVE the SUMMIT …The rebels are losing the battle against the strider onslaught that keeps growing. To help turn the tide of war you need to destroy the source of the Striders. That source is at the summit of what the rebels call, StriderMountain. There is only one way to get into the mountain geography and it’s extremely dangerous terrain. The danger proves to be too much and you are forced way off target. Now, you must fight your way through the Combine Mountain Base Camp because it’s the only entry to the mountain. As Gordon Freeman, you must survive the summit and destroy the source of the Striders.
Ravenholm
The atmosphere in the original HL2 game was both interesting, and terrifying, and that is the driving force behind our choice on creating a modifacation on that environment alone. All maps from this modification have a very similar kind of feel of atmosphere and gameplay from the original Ravenholm, but with an different and expanded story, and many new locations. So, you will find yourself battle many Zombies, Headcrabs, and more.
Eclipse
Around November, 2004, several students got together to brainstorm a concept for a total conversion of Valve’s Half-Life 2 . After several days of brainstorming, the concept for Eclipse was born. In January of 2005, a group of Guildhall students composed of programmers, artists, and level designers were put together and formed what is now CelTech Studios. It was then that CelTech Studios made the commitment to produce the highest quality game possible in the short amount of time they had – five months. What emerged in late May was a game that is both stunningly beautiful and addictive to play.
Eclipse is a third-person total conversion of Valve’s Half-Life 2 . It is an action adventure that features tactical, puzzle based combat, which forces the player to interact with the surrounding environment in order to survive. You play as a young Sorceress named Violet who has learned the secrets of Telekinesis. This allows Violet to easily find objects in the environment that she can pick up and throw. Once the player gets used to picking up objects and throwing them at targets, the movement of Violet becomes very important. Based on where an enemy is Violet might want to pick up one or more objects and then move about in order to get a good angle on her enemy before sending the objects flying in that direction.
As you journey through the different lands of Eclipse , you will uncover many secrets that will help you in defeating your enemies. You will also be able to unlock new abilities that Violet can use, such as Hellstorm – a powerful spell that allows Violet to summon up to three fiery orbs that explode upon impact and deal significant damage to nearby enemies.
Use Violet’s power of Telekinesis to help protect you as you journey over distant lands in search of the ancient teleportation device near the Standing Stones. Battle your way through hordes of orc-like creatures known as Keepers as you make your way through the enchanted Blackmoor forest. Find Violet’s ancestral burial grounds in the Barrow and unlock dark secrets that will aid you in your final stand at the Standing Stone
Dissolution
Dissolution is a science fiction, single-player mod for Half-Life 2 that mixes adventure and action game-play. Set in the year 2089, in a universe dominated by a mega corporate entity, Xterrier, the player awakes in a hidden lab to the voice of the mysterious Wilson. Guided by Wilson, the player must make their way through the ravaged Xterrier 581c colony, making use of any and all resources they can get their hands on in order to survive, all the while attempting to piece together the events leading to the colony’s collapse and their own identity.
Calamity
Half-Life 2 calamity is an exciting and heavily beta-tested new addon to the Half Life universe. Battle the violent combine regime, obliterate zombies and Xen creatures, and learn even more knowledge surrounding the rise of Earth’s benefactors. Calamity is around 1-2 hours of solid gameplay filled with tense combat scenes and puzzling conundrums mixed within the deteriorating setting of one of Earths last thriving cities – City 17. Explore a hidden story twist in the climax of the mod, and enjoy every minute of the exploration and fighting.
Coastline To Atmosphere
This mod continues the story where Half-Life 2 finished and offers one possible scenario. After the big explosion you fall to the ground and are very badly injured. Some people find you and take you home to a small village outside the city where the citadel was built. After 3 months you’re strong again and want to fight on. You have never seen Alyx or any of the others since the explosion. But you try to find new people that will fight with you against Breen. Nobody wants to help, some are afraid, others think that Breen has learned his lesson and won’t start again. It also seems that most of his organisation was lost in the explosion. Then you hear that along the coast Breen is starting again and trying to take control again. So you decide to go to the coast. There you take a little boat and go along the coast so the Combine won’t notice you coming.
Gordon Freakman
You are Gordon Freakman. You like Crowbars, Black Mesa, Scientists and stuff… Gordon Freakman has to destroy all of the Dr. Kleiners because they took over City 69. “This is a story one day only of the urban day of sight.”
Kill The Monk
This mod is about the story of the struggle of Gordon Freeman against the sinister monk from Ravenholm and leader of the Combine – Father Grigori.
Mistake Of Pythagoras
Something goes mad because the human race failed in the
experiment, and it connects with another world.
The resident in the another world is crazy due to the mistake.
We should restore the situation.
Zombie Master: Reborn
Zombie Master: Reborn combines FPS and RTS experience into one terrifying package. Each round a willing player is chosen to be the Zombie Master. ZM’s job is to summon and command zombies, and kill the remaining survivors. The unlucky who didn’t get picked, assume the role of a survivor. Their goal is to stay alive and complete the map objectives.
FakeFactory Cinematic Mod
Imagine, a Hollywood producer got his hands on the game. The result would be similar to what the Cinematic Mod is: a graphics blockbuster, redesigned to the typical game to movie adaption with an orchestral soundtrack and beautiful people everywhere.
The Stanley Parable
The Stanley Parable is an experimental narrative-driven first person game. It is an exploration of choice, freedom, storytelling and reality, all examined through the lens of what it means to play a video game.
You will make a choice that does not matter
You will follow a story that has no end
You will play a game you cannot win
1187
Creatures came out of what seemed to be thin air. Animated and alive. They came without a warning and swept the world …
Transmissions: Element 120
A short single player experience set in the Half-Life Universe featuring a unique gravity defying weapon that allows you to jump buildings and sustain large falls. The story takes place at a mysterious date & location after the events of Half-Life : Episode 2. Where are you? Why have you been sent?
Awakening
HL2 mod continueing with HL:opposing force character Adrian Shephard in a time set somewhere between HL1 and HL2.
It brings you from a Black Mesa like base trough a outdoor envoirement and a sovjet marine base into a early combine citadell to end in a ancient alien location here on earth, the combine stumbles upon when creating a citadell.
Half-Life 2: MMod
The goal of Half-Life 2 : MMod is to enhance and expand gunplay, combat mechanics and the immersion factor by giving the Player more options and combat opportunities as well as refine how the Player handles his arsenal. Half-Life 2 : MMod also offers minor AI enhancements, extended abilities for combine soldiers, multiple bug fixes, enhanced visuals, VFX re-design, sound redesign and much much more, while keeping nearly every new feature in the mod totally optional.
Rock 24
Rock 24 takes place on an abandoned Cliffside prison.
The prison is situated on the side of a sheer cliff face meaning the only real way in and out is by air. The combine have moved in to the facility and are re-using it as a place to hold rebel leaders and other important Rebels.
Gordon is required to infiltrate, free the Rebel leader and hopefully escape from the facility alive. Unfortunately the prison is rapidly deteriorating around him and there isn’t much time.
Downfall
DownFall is a Half-Life 2 single-player mod taking place in the White Forest surroundings. You ‘re once more putting on the HEV suit as Gordon Freeman. Your mission is to recover a newly developed technology by the resistance, known as the “citadel buster”, before the Combine manage to destroy it.
Watching Paint Dry: The Game
In this game, you watch paint dry in real time. There’s also some other things but it’s mostly about watching paint dry. Have fun.
Too Many Crates!
When there are too many crates in one place, only one person possesses the skills to save the day. Kenneth the crate breaking expert armed with his trusty crowbar will take care of any crate related problem. TOO MANY CRATES is a puzzle game where breaking crates is the name of the game. But you can’t just go berserk on every crate you see if you want to break them all. You’ll need to stack them to get to new rooms and figure out how to use all the special crates to get to secret rooms. You’ll find many ways to break, smash, shoot and explode the multitudes of crates in this mod.
DayHard
DayHard is a single player adventure set before the events narrated in Half-Life 2. You play as Gordon’s brother, Morgan Freeman. He’s not timid like Gordon: he’s able to talk to people, and even to make comments on the situation! Unbelievable, huh? What’s the story? Well, let’s just say that one day Morgan finds the Combines knocking at his door: from then on, it will be a constant fight for survival (We hired Wilbur Smith to write this script).
Throughout his journey he will face many obstacles, fight tough enemies, but also meet few special friends… Even without a fancy suit, or an acceptable knowledge of gravity, Morgan will have a valid arsenal at his disposal, including a shiny katana.
DayHard focuses on being funny rather than revolutionary. A huge amount of scripted sequences are used to give life to idiotic moments, memorable cutscenes and a very rough storyline. The focus here is on action and humour: if you remember that you’ll enjoy the ride. Particular emphasis was also placed on the production of custom voiceovers; expect professional quality. Do you want boring numbers? Here: The mod features 6 playable maps, over 150 new textures, 16 models, more than 150 custom voiceovers, and tons of virtual sweat.
Flipside
You have just escaped from a mental institution. You’re on the run. The sun is shining, the birds are singing. You are jumping happily from cloud to cloud. You know that the only way to freedom is by reaching the ship at the end of the level. A cute bunny is jumping towards you, blocking your path. By pushing a button the whole world flips around and shows its dark side. The bunny is now an evil nurse who is trying to stop you from getting away. You headbutt her, clearing your path. With a push of the button the world flips back and shows its light side again.
“Play FLIPSIDE and see the world through the eyes of a madman”
FLIPSIDE is a platform game that allows you to experience the world from two sides. Pick a side!
Rebellion
In Rebellion, you play as Mandella, colonel in the Confederation, a powerful military force. At the beginning, you explore the mothership as you’re asked by admiral Spade to attend your briefing. You’ll discover that you’re part of the first attack wave sent to storm Tor29, a little colony lost in the Nephele system. Accompanied by your best friend, major Threepwood, you’ll face an oddly weak resistance. Why does the Confederation unleash its wrath on a colony that is clearly of no match? What hides behind this conflict driven by doubtful justifications? These obscure reasons are not to please you and Threepwood. Will you carry on following blindly an authority fouled by power and arrogance? Or will you break your former links and embrace a cause that seems fairer to you, however desperate it may be? Maybe these are favourable times for… Rebellion.
Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat
Insurgency (“INS”) is a total conversion modification (multiplayer) for Half-Life 2, which runs on Valve’s Source game engine.
Insurgency takes you across the modern battlefield, engaging in intense firefights and battles as a member of either a highly organized and equipped conventional force (US Marines), or as an unconventional fighter that uses a combination of firepower and bravery to take on their sometimes overwhelming opponent (Insurgents).
Intense realism will keep you alert as you and your team try accomplish the mission’s objectives. Specified roles are included within each Squad that make up your team’s Platoon. Command and control from a 4-soldier Fireteam, to an 8-soldier Squad, up to a 32-soldier Platoon. A unique point system ensures that online combat veterans will be rewarded for their leadership and tactical abilities so that they can rise through the ranks and command the platoon.
Grab one of the many weapons in the arsenal and join the fight using guerrilla tactics against the powerful enemy, fire RPGs at enemy infantry, or deploy your machine gun to take down entire platoons!
Pirates, Vikings, & Knights II
Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II boasts a unique three-team symmetry and a myriad of colorful characters to promote exciting, strategic, and fun gameplay. It features several game modes, each requiring its own special brand of cunning to master. Do battle on a tropical island for control of bountiful treasure. Appease your gods by spilling the blood of your enemies deep within a Mayan temple. Conquer your foes by taking control of precious badlands territory. But most importantly, have FUN!
