Overview
Alright so this is gonna show you how to catch most of the fish in mudwater.
Panfish
We’re gonna start out with the easy ones, you can catch most types of shiner and minnow with a hook 6 or 8 and some worms. So now that we covered the east ones, lets move on to some of the harder ones.
Green Sunfish:
For green sunfish at low level I would recommend using red worms with a hook 4 or 6. Spawn at pike challenge and cast to the right of the log sticking out of the water. You’re gonna want to cast around 40ish feet out with a line leader depth of 26.
White Crappie:
So I don’t know why but I had a lot of trouble catching these on a float setup. So I decided to move over to a spinning setup. Hook 6 with a grub or shad 2 inch. You can try various retrieves but I got one by just doing straight slow and keeping it about in the middle.
Black Bullhead:
According to the wiki these count as panfish, anyway, I caught the most of these while fishing for bass surprisingly. Use a hook #1/0 with some grasshoppers, line leader of around 25, and cast basically anywhere. You catch more bass than bullhead using this method but the bullhead give some pretty good xp so its not that bad.
Pike
Alright so this section is gonna be really short.
Grass/Chain pickerel:
Get a casting spoon or softbait and cast anywhere, I like using lift and drop as my retrieve but you can try other things too. The spot where I have the most success is to the right of the default spawn, where the clump of trees is.
The Big Bois
Alright so, these are the fish you want to catch at this river.
Largemouth Bass:
This is the same setup for black bullhead, #1/0 hook, grasshoppers, around 25 line leader.
Freshwater Drum:
You’re gonna want a #1/0 jighead with a grub or shad 2-3 inch. Stay closer to the bottom on your retrieve
Channel Cats:
Feeder Rod. Small Cutbait. #3/0 hook, max leader depth.
Gar:
Apparently the wiki says there is gar here. I know there WAS gar in the beta, but it’s since been removed from the in game fish list, so i’m not really sure what happened.
