Fix your mounting problems on Source SDK Base 2007 The completely non-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way.
Introduction
So you downloaded Source SDK Base 2007 and a mod to play but all of a sudden the game won’t start because the mounts won’t work. This guide will aid to fix that in a non-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way.
The culprit causing this was SteamPipe updates. Now that GCFs don’t exist for Source anymore, the mods have trouble getting the content from the game.
Requirements:
GCFScape or Neico’s batch script.

Fixing with GCFScape
This guide has been re-done as there is a new and much more better way to fixing it.
1. (Skip this step if you have GCFScape installed and can read VPK files) First of all you must have GCFScape, if not, then download it from: [link]
When installing GCFScape you must make it read VPKs.
2. After installing GCFScape we will go open the EP2 VPK in “..commonHalf-Life 2ep2”.
3. Open the VPK folder “ep2_pak_dir.vpk” and it will display all of the EP2 content you want to use for fixing the mounts.
4. What you will want to do is keep the GCFScape window open and find “Source SDK Base 2007” in the steam common directory. Since we’re going to mount Episode 2, we will create a folder name “ep2” which will be where we place our files.
5. What we’re going to do now is extract the content from the GCFScape window. This is a very simple step as you only need to drag the files into the “Source SDK Base 2007ep2” folder.
6. Patience is the key. Your GCFScape window should freeze and stop responding for awhile depending on how much files there are.
7. We’re not done yet. We need the maps! Where do you get the map? Simple. Just locate “Half-Life 2ep2” and copy all the “maps” folder into “Source SDK Base 2007ep2”.
8. The problem should hopefully have been fixed. If not, then you’re out of luck as this is the only way you can fix mounting for Source 2007 mods.
