Overview
This is a guide to help you get 100% achievements in Pit People. I will update it as new achievements are added throughout early access. None of the achievements are currently missable, so feel free to just enjoy the game before worrying about collecting all the achievements. The hidden achievement ‘Very Vinyl’ currently can not be unlocked. Note: I have started updating this guide for the new (update 7) achievements, but it will take me some time to complete the updates.
I Said Horatio dies!
Defy the Narrator.
Story related and can not be missed. You will unlock this achievement after completing the first quest.
Which seat should I take?
Get a full squad of 6.
Story related and can not be missed. After completing the first story mission you will save a Cupcake ally and be introduced to recruiting. After completing that quest, head out into the world map and recruit a sixth ally. Once you unlock the final party slots and put that ally in your party, the achievement will unlock.
Karma for the King
Get Pip’s Revenge.
Story related and can not be missed. Once you have a full party you will receive the next main story quest to get Pip’s revenge. The achievement will be unlocked once you complete the mission.
So Fast So Murderous
Run over 10 enemies using the wagon’s nitro boost.
Once you have completed the recruiting tutorial mission you will be able to buy item’s at the city gates. One of those items is the nitro boost for 150 gold. Once you’re on the world map press A (controller) or 1 (keyboard) to activate the boost. Look for groups of enemies to unlock this achievement faster.
Pocket Change
19,999 Gold on-hand.
This achievement will unlock as you progress towards getting a character to level 80. Easy ways to earn money include selling duplicate items, completing side quests, and finding gold stashs on the map. The money cap is currently 19,999.
Blueberried Blocker
Horatio or Hailey reach level 20.
This achievement will unlock naturally just by playing the game and trying to earn the other achievements. I would recommend continuing to use Horatio or Hailey after earning this achievement as they will be your highest level characters, making them good candidates for the ‘I’ve Seen Things’ achievement (character level 80).
Plays Well With Brothers
Get a Quadra Kill.
I would recommend fighting a troll mom enemy for this achievement. Every turn she spawns a baby troll that has 10hp on normal mode. Once you have cleared the board of every enemy other than the mom you can let her spawn babies for 4 turns. Once four are on the board you just need to kill them all in the same turn. Party members with splash damage, such as electrobots and pixies will make this achievement easier. The narrator will announce when you’ve earned a quadra kill.
I See Dead Pixies
Beat any team of Elites in the wild.
Elite enemies can be identified by their red tint and flames on their body (screenshot below). They are commonly found in the areas that are bordering by glowing red lights with skulls on them, although they can be found anywhere. The achievement will be unlocked once you have won the battle.
Seriously Serious
Successfully complete a full Quest.
When you are leaving the city gates simply select a side quest to work on. Side questlines typically have 3 or 4 parts. Once you’ve completed the first part you will see Part 2 is available at the gates, and so on. Once you have completed the final quest the achievement will unlock.
Are You Not Entertained?
Win the INSANE unfair challenge.
On the far left side of the city you will see the insane mode switch. Flipping this will turn on INSANE difficulty, which increases the health and damage of your enemies, and often gives you more elites to fight as well. With this active, you need to complete the unfair challenge mode inside The Pit. The unfair challenge is three consecutive fights in a row without any pause to heal your characters. It’s a bit easier than it sounds, and there are two ways you can go about it. You can either attempt this yourself or turn on the “Auto Battler” and let the game choose your moves for you. The Auto Battler will not always be successful, but if you’re using that strategy to get a character to level 80 it should work eventually. I have seen the following teams being listed as successful:
- Horatio (tank – helmet, tower shield, medium sword), Zombies, Electrobot, Kobolds, Pixie and Vampire
- Horatio (tank), Hair Troll, Zombies, Wraith, Electrobot
- Horatio (tank), Pip (tank), two pixies, an electrobot, Wraith
- Horatio (tank) Pip (tank), Human (Medium helmet, medium shield, mace), Human (Medium helmet and throwing axes), Hair Troll
- Vampire (Hero), Kobolds x5
- Human (tank), Hair Troll, Mushroom, Electrobot, and Zombies
Note: I have confirmed that the bolded teams work. Also, tank means heavy shield, heavy helmet, and medium sword.
The Queen Will Be Pleased
Recruit 1 of every creature type.
Once you have completed the recruiting tutorial mission you will be able to recruit more team members. This achievement will be unlocked once you have recruited all of the following creatures:
- Human (One human must have a ranged weapon equipped.)
- Cyclops
- Pixie
- Cupcake
- Zombie
- Hair Troll
- Mascot
- Vampiress
- Spidaur
- Gnome
- Mushroom
- Electrobot
- Wraith
- Rainbow Horse
- Kobold
- Octoclops
- Gorgon
- Troll Mom
I’ve Seen Things
Someone reaches level 80.
I would recommend keeping Horatio in your party throughout the game, as this will allow you to unlock the ‘Blueberried Blocker’ achievement on your way to this achievement. Once you’ve earned all of the other achievements this will be the last one you need to grind out. The fastest way to grind this achievement out would be using the auto-battler feature in the Pit. Otherwise just continue battling wherever you see fit to continue earning experience.
Note: Completing quests does not earn experience, just battles.
Nothing Personal
Win an online versus battle in The Pit.
Select The Pit and press X (Controller and Keyboard) in the first room to make online play active (green light). If the light is orange, you’re on local play. Enter the room to the right and search for a match. I’ve had good luck using the hair troll in PvP as not many people seem to be using pixies (hair troll counter) currently.
Something Switchy Going On
Find a secret area in any worldmap.
Throughout the world map there are six switches (in the shape of green buttons, levers, or blue switches) hidden. If you manage to find all six and activate them (by walking into them) you will be teleported to the secret area. This achievement can be difficult as there are currently three different world map configurations you can have (based on where the bear drops the town). My suggestion is to find all six switches in one trip to avoid being moved mid-search. Once you have cleared smoke off the world map it will not reappear until the town is moved. Use that to your advantage and just avoid battles while trying to find all six switches in one trip. Below are a few screenshots of the locations I found my switches in.
Note: The blue switches light up after they have been activated.
Firemaple’s Guide is the most complete steam guide of the switch locations that I’ve seen so far. Once someone releases a complete guide of all three layouts and the switches I will update this reference.
Very Vinyl
Per this thread, the “Very Vinyl” achievement has been removed from the game. It may or may not be readded.
Honey Historian
Save a Replay.
After any battle there will be an option to save a replay in the upper left hand corner of the stats screen.
Tactician’s Intuition
Watch a Replay.
In the main menu, there will be an orange button that takes you to the replay menu. The achievement will pop as soon as you start watching one of your replays.
Odd Jobs
Complete 2 quests in one outing on the world map.
See Stamina Strategist description.
Odder Jobs
Complete 15 Bonus Missions on the world map
Final information TBD.
Castle Crasher
Defeat a Fortress
Story related and cannot miss. This achievement unlocks any time you complete a fortress mission. The earliest story mission you can get this on is Helmitor’s fortress.
Thank you Verillius and Hatty DeWitt for the information.
Shadows and Dust
Get 300 kills
This achievement requires you to get 300 kills across all your fighters. It will come naturally with time. If you’re eager to see where you’re at, you could add your total fighter kills in the house (kill counter is to the right of their exp bar, screenshot below).
It’s Over 9 Thousand
Do 100 points of damage in a single turn.
Easy strategy provided by P Bag:
1) Put a mascot in your team. I had 3 in my team and a momma troll.
2) Go into the pit and get your mascot(s) surrounded (I had 3 enemies around one of mine and friendlies on the other spots).
3) Get that mascot to die. Achievement should pop.
A Day in The Pit
Get more than 1234 Pit Points in a day.
Pit Points are awarded for finishing matches in the Pit. This thread provides a developer response on how Pit Points are (roughly) calculated. To earn 1234 Pit Points you will need to play multiple matches (typically 3 or more PvP matches) in the Pit, in a single day.
Just The Beginning
Complete the Story.
Story related and cannot be missed.
#SkwadGoals
Recruit an Elite.
Similar to “The Queen Will Be Pleased” achievement, you will need to recruit an enemy for this. Refer to the images in the “I See Dead Pixies” description to identify elite fights. Once you’re in the elite fight, an elite enemy will have a red flame effect on them.
Stamina Strategist
Complete 5 quests in one outing on the world map.
The quests can be from the gate, or found out on the world map. I would recommend looking for the easiest quests you can find (1 skull, no combat required) on the world map. Bring as many campfires as possible. The achievement will pop once you re-enter the city.
Fearless Fighter
Win 20 Battles in PermaDeath
PermaDeath is a difficulty picked at the beginning of a save file. To confirm if a save file is PermaDeath, you can see a chain on the save file selection screen. If you’re not confident in your ability to win 20 battles, seek out easier difficulty quests and make sure to recruit extra followers to compensate for your losses.
GG EZ
Defeat an Elite Team in PermaDeath
Similar to the “I See Dead Pixies” achievement, you have to defeat an elite team. I would recommend trying this after completing the ‘Fearless Fighter’ achievement, so you have time to build up an ideal time. Try picking an advantageous fight, based on the enemy you see on the world map as well.
