Overview
This Guide shows you how to get 100% of the achievements in Half Life 2.Follow all the steps in the Guide to master the game.Good luck!
Developer console
This part is optional but can be useful.
To assign advanced commands and cheats you need the Console.
To do this you:
open up Options/Keyboard/Advanced
and tick “Enable developer console”.
Then, you toggle a Key to the Console in Keyboard/Miscellaneous/Toggle developer console
After you have configured the console, press the assigned key to open the console.

For the Achievements to be unlocked the command
should be set to “0” (default) during the game Walkthrough.
Lambda Locator
Lambda Locator
Find all lambda caches in Half-Life 2
There are two ways to get this achievement.
1. or
2. You go to /Steam/SteamApps/common/half-life 2/hl2/gamestate.txt
-find a Hexadecimal number combination like: “data” “0x0000000000480001”
-change the number to: “0x00001FFFFFFBFFFF” and save the file
-start the game through Steam
-start a new game from Chapter 5
-You should get the achievement
Story Achievements
This kind of Achievements you get during your first Playthrough.
Defiant
Hit the tashcan cop with the can.
or
Submissive
Put the can in the trash.
You can´t unlock “Submissive” and “Defiant” during one Playthrough. You need to start a new game.
Malcontent
Escape the apartment block raid.
Trusty Hardware
Get the crowbar.
Anchors Aweigh!
Get the airboat.
Heavy Weapons
Get the airboat’s mounted gun.
Revenge!
Destroy the hunter-chopper in Half-Life 2.
Zero-Point Energy
Get the Gravity Gun in Black Mesa East.
Hallowed Ground
Escort Gregori safely through the church cemetery.
Where Cubbage Fears to Tread
Defend Little Odessa from the gunship attack.
Warden Freeman
Survive the second turret standoff in Nova Prospekt.
Follow Freeman
Gain command of a squad of rebels in the uprising.
Radiation Levels Detected
Get through the toxic tunnel under City 17 in Half-Life 2
Plaza Defender
Survive the generator plaza standoff in chapter Anticitizen One.
Fight the Power
Shut down the surpression device by disabling its generators
Giant Killer
Survive the rooftop strider battle in the ruins of City 17
Singularity Collapse
Destroy the Citadel’s reactor core.
This Achievements cannot be missed or something. You get them automatically!
Achievements
The achievements are categorized as easy or hard but doesn´t require any particular skills to be completed.
This achievements are in chronological order for an easy understanding
What cat?
Break the mini-teleporter in Kleiner’s lab.
Just spam the teleporter button until you break it.
Barnacle Bowling
Kill five barnacles with one barrel.
This achievement is really easy to get. Play the game untill Chapter 3: Route Canal where you get in a slippery tunnel with Barnacles in it.
Just throw a explosive Barrel to the Barnacles and wait till its tilted, then shoot the Barrel and you should get the achievement.
Vorticough
Discover the hidden singing vortigaunt cave in chapter Water Hazard.
After the first Boss fight, where you get the achievement Revenge! you open up the gate and miss the red garage on the isle. Instead you drive forward to the outlet pipes and hop in the left pipe. The water in there is Radioactive and will get you damaged.

Blast from the Past
Find the HEV Suit Charger faceplate in Eli’s scrapyard.
Right after you get the Gravity Gun you stack props to hop on the ledge behind Alyx.
Two Points
Use DOG’s ball to make a basket in Eli’s scrapyard.
It is recommended to save before you start this achievement as it takes some try´s.
Afer the introduction of DOG you will have to use your Garvity Gun to shoot DOG´s ball into a hoop.
Zombie Chopper
Play through Ravenholm using only the Gravity Gun.
Achieving this for the first time is quite hard, but possible.
OSHA Violation
Kill 3 enemies using the crane.
In Chapter Highway 17 you need to use the crane to lower the bridge and get through. You can use the cran to pick up a crate and drop it on top of 3 Soldiers. Other creative ways to kill the Soldiers are possible.
Targetted Advertising
Pin a soldier to the billboard in chapter Highway 17.
Pick up the Crossbow on the little hill in Chapter Highway 17 and aim at the Soldier on the Billboard.
One Bow and the achievement is yours.
Keep Off the Sand!
Cross the antilion beach in chapter Sandtraps without touching the sand.
Right after you meet Lazlow on the stone you need to cross the beach to the vortigaunt camp without hitting the sand.
You need some movement knowledge which you already have to the state of the Playthrough.
Bug Hunt
Use the antlions to kill 50 enemies.
After you have defeated the Antlion Boss you get his scrotum which you can use to spawn Antlions and trigger them to attack somebody.
Recommended to hunt the achievement right after you have got the scrotum.
One Man Army
Destroy six gunships in Half-Life 2.
A not so hard achievement where you to this point had already killed 6 Gunships you come across the Playthrough of Half-Life 2
Flushed
Kill an enemy with a toilet.
In the Prison of Nova Prospekt search in the cells for a toilet and take it with the Gravity Gun. After that kill a Soldier with the toilet.
Hack Attack!
Kill five enemies with a Manhack.
In the Prison of Nova Prospekt you can find Manhacks flying around. Take then with the Gravity Gun and kill 5 Soldiers with it.
Counter Sniper
kill all of the snipers in City 17.
You need to kill all 5 snipers in City 17, on Chapter 11
Very easy achievement
Atomizer
Disintegrate 15 soldiers by throwing them into a Combine ball field.
To this point you are in the Citadel with a blue advanced Gravity Gun with whom you can throw the Soldiers and pick them up. Use the Gravity gun to pick up enemies and throw them in the ball field.
