Unlike the spin attack you re left vulnerable to enemy attacks. This skill is great for climbing hills and must be used to get the fastest times in Time Attack Mode.

Time Travel

While playing Sonic CD you will notice sign posts with the words “Past” or “future” written on them. If sonic touches one of these sign blue sparks will surround Sonic as you run faster. Once you reach max speed sonic will warp through time.

Each zone contains Metal Sonic Holograms and Robot teleporters to destroy in the past. You will have to travel through time to find them. Their exact locations in each zone will be shown in the videos below.

In order to get a good future and unlock the good you must destroy the robot transporter in each zone. Destroying all the robot teleporters and Metal Sonic holograms in the past will earn you the achievement “Saviour of the Planet”

Special Stages

If you reach the end of a stage in zone 1 or 2 and have collected 50 rings or more you will see a large ring. Jump into it and you will enter the Special Stage.

Your goal in the special stage is to destroy six UFOs that are flying around the map by jumping into them. Every time you destroy a UFO it will drops lots of rings or a Power Sneaker. It is important to note that these stages are timed. Falling in the water on any of these special stages will take 10 seconds for every second you remain in the water. If time falls below 20 second a blue UFO will appear in the center of the map. If you destroy the blue UFO it will add 30 seconds to the remaining time.

There are other dangers to look out for on the map. Spikes on the ground will cause you to fall. Arrows will send you in the direction they point at a fast rate. Fans will send you flying thought the air and and springs will bounce you around.

If you successfully complete a special stage you will earn a Time Stone
