Overview
This is a single-command, no-reloading, easy way to cheat without disabling your achievements and thus make the game way too easy!
Opening The Console
This game is something like 15 years old but if you somehow don’t know how to open the console its very easy.
1. open the options menu
2. go to where you set up the controls
3. open advanced options
4. click “enable developer console”
now when you hit the key with ~ on it youll open the console which has a bunch of useless information but also has a very important use…
Cheating
The Command
there is a command in the console called “wait” which by itself does nothing but the source console has a neat feature where you can string multiple commands together.
so basically if you were to type in the following:
sv_cheats 1; wait; noclip; wait; sv_cheats 0
then you would have enabled noclip (which is flying and also having no collisions) and yet still be able to earn achievements (although at this point, “earning” is a loose term)
wait is an important part because it causes these commands to be done one after the other, without the wait command they would be done all in the exact same moment, which would mean that nothing at all would happen
those semicolons are important because without them source wont be able to make sense of all the ♥♥♥♥ you just typed
some examples of different cheats are:
noclip, which ive already covered
god, which makes you invincible
impulse 101, which refills your health and gives you all weapons
notarget, which stops enemy npcs from shooting you (it causes the npcs to not notice that youre even there)
