Dealing with Persian douches

Overview

Primarily focusing on the Persian douche, follow these simple steps to turn the game on their face.

Don’t feed the troll

What the enemy wants you to do; Panic, garrison your villagers and attack their TC.

With the power of math, I’ll show you how you will almost certainly get the better trade.

The maximum amount of extra arrows a TC can fire is 10 (for Persians), this is achieved at 10 garrisoned villagers. Any more is just a waste. Most douchers won’t know this and will waste villager time. All the better for you.

Situation 1
Both you and your enemy enter a standoff and start shooting each other.
Persians, having twice the HP on their TC, have the HP advantage and will win if no one repairs. Having twice the HP on their TC also means that it costs half as much to repair the same hitpoints per second.
You will lose either way.

Situation 2
Enemy is shooting your TC and you want to repair it. You’re not shooting back.
It takes 213 seconds for a fully garrisoned TC to kill a non-Persian TC.
However, it takes only 193 seconds for 1 repairer to fully repair a TC.
That’s right, 1 villager to counter the damage of 10 villagers in a TC.

Looking at the resource cost, 1 repairer on a TC will expend 2.85 wood/s and 0.26 stone/s (no stone cost for repairing using the original data set).
It will take 8 villagers on wood and 1 on stone to completely mitigate the cost. Considering the enemy needs 10 idle villagers to keep the town center firing maximum arrows, it’s at least an even trade.

Situation 3
Enemy is shooting your TC. You don’t care and continue on with life.
It will take 213 seconds for it to go down. During that time, you can advance to Feudal (130 seconds) and continue making villagers. The enemy accumulates 2130 minimum idle time, during which they could have gathered 818 wood. Consider a TC costs 275 wood and 100 stone. Pretty good trade.

Finishing them off

What happens most of the time is the one being douched creates a barracks and tries to use militia to fight the enemy TC. This does not work and you’ll just end up slowing your Feudal time.

The weak point of the Persian douche is the enemy’s old base. A quick scout rush and their original base will be decimated. They are bound to have buildings remaining, notably a mill, lumber camp and a couple houses. Deny that and they’ll be even worse off than before.

The enemy, having had to rebuild their TC, will not have enough stone for a defensive tower, if they manage to reach the feudal age. Any unit, preferably archers to stay outside the TC fire, can raid like no tomorrow.

Prevention is better than a cure

If you manage to see the douche incoming, there are a couple things you can do to stop it entirely.

Palisade blocking
TCs take up a lot of space. Dot the area around your TC with palisade walls, do the side nearest to the enemy first. If you can kill the enemy scout before you start building even better. The douche will never reach your TC. If it goes anywhere else, it won’t be as effective.

Unit blocking
Similar to palisade blocking, send a villager/ scout/ sheep right where the enemy want’s to build. If they haven’t set it down yet, they won’t be able to until you move.

Walling
A quick wall up of your base will stop the douche entirely.

Walling 2.0
Having moved their TC closer to your base, it becomes extremely easy to wall their TC in. If you’re ballsy, wall it up as they’re building it. You’ll still need to take care of the villagers in their original base.
