Overview
So you’re interested in the “Enable System Button Binding” option, let’s learn how to use it!
Enabling it
This wonderful option will let you bind things to the system button, like my use case of toggling my mic on and off.
First thing we gotta do is go to OVR Advance settings > Steam VR and enable it.
A STEAMVR RESTART IS REQUIRED
Clearing binds
Now that you have restarted, we can start clearing space to avoid conflicts when you add your own binds.
Navigate to your VR DASHBOARD bindings and in System Actions remove some or all of the System binds
Toggle Dashboard is a required controller binding, so you will be unable to save without having it, but we can hide the binding in a chord.
HMDs with a System button on the headset will be unaffected by this binding change and will still be able to open the dashboard!
Adding binds
Now you can go into OVR ADVANCED SETTINGS bindings, or bindings for any other similar software, and bind what you please to System
My example here is placing OVRAS Push To Talk as a toggle button on only my Right System
Enjoy your new place to put bindings!
