The awesome list of hidden stuff

Overview

This is designed to give everyone a place to see hidden stuff in the game! Plz post any secrets YOU found

Intro

I have been playing this game for a while now. Although I have only the first 2 acheivements (edit: Point, Line, Triangle, Square and Pentagon achievements now)* I found a neat trick that I thought I would share. This has turned into a place where you can post and find secrets of this game. Happy posting! Also, keep checking back for NEW stuffs! *I have finished the game.

List O Secrets/Tricks

As this post grows, there will be more here.

(Gremlinium) 1. If you hold shift while starting or restarting a level, it begins to rotate constantly but sometimes you can rotate it in the other direction. This then continues turning in the previous direction when released. Tapping random keys can sometimes make this stop. However, do NOT back out while it’s like this as it WILL break the game and force you to close it manually. (Task Manager Recommended)

(Gremlinium) 2. In the two-way swirl, you can bypass the first block in the wrong direction. Use this to prepare for the rest.

(Gremlinium) 3. Superstitions help. I’m not kidding, they actually help. The guy from PC Gamer who tested this said he did better while talking to someone. I find talking inside my head about positive things helps but one negative thing and I fail. Sometimes looking at videos gives me a boost of inspiration. What works well for you?

(Gremlinium) 4. Unless you have robot eyes or something, it’ll take some time to get used to the change from Hyper Hexagoner and it’s upgraded form. Seriously, seeing shapes of colour on a white background for 60 seconds then watching as they suddenly flip around is one of the most confusing things to happen in this game.

(Gremlinium) 5. There are many button combos to play with (See below)

(Gremlinium) 6. Because A has two button mappings for left, holding down both A and D or A and L will cause the arrow to rotate left anyway.

(Gremlinium) 7. I think this always happens but when you fail on Hyper mode when you started playing regular Hexagonest, it goes to a black and white stage where you are forced into a dead end by a whole hexagon. It surprised me because it was my first time completing the level.

(Gremlinium) 8. The shortest possible times are different: Hexagon 2:26, Hexagoner 2:19, Hexagonest 1:54, HHexagon 1:58, HHexagoner 1:58, HHexagonest 1:48 (Approximations)

(Gremlinium) 9. In Hyper Hexagonest, the only changes in the motion is direction change and the occasional zoom out. The speed is absoloutley constant.

(Gremlinium) 10. In the first 3 regular levels, getting 120 seconds will pass you onto the the upgraded form of it’s hyper mode. The same as getting 60 seconds in the hyper mode.

(Fish) 11. Pressing Shift+V is the same as enter. This is an easter egg to VVVVVV.

(WEGFan) 12. In Hexagon, there are also the square and pentagon parts but the pentagon part contains a background colour that the other 2 do not because there is an odd number of segments so there would of been a double sized segment of colour otherwise.

(Gremlinium) 13. The black and white stage is harder than you might think because it doesn’t rotate. Either that or you’re still in the shock from beating the game…

(Gremlinium) 14. After completing (180 mins on regular mode, 120 on hyper mode), you progress to the next hyper mode. So if you got 180 minutes in Hexagon, you would switch to Hyper Hexagoner.

(WEGFan) 15. In hexagonest stage, the background color is changing, it’s order is green, blue, red, cyan, purple, yellow. The colors are the same as the crews in VVVVVV.
