Using the Terrain Flattening Tool for Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Using the Terrain Flattening Tool

Overview

How to use the drill’s flatten terrain feature to create absolutely flat surfaces.

What’s Needed

Tool Needed: Epic Drill (preferred)
Materials: Enough blocks to create an outline or border of the are you want flattened.

Once you’ve equipped the drill and uploaded a few dozen blocks, it’s time to choose an area you want flattened.

Creating the Area To Be Flattened

Once you’ve chosen an area you want to flatten, plant a base starter block.

Make a square or other shapes, using blocks to create an outline of the surface area you want to modify. Any shape will do, depending on the creativity of the maker. These blocks must remain, or else the flattened area will be compromised when deleted.

Any shapes will do in creating the foundation’s border wall. Just make sure you layer blocks below ground to “seal” the flatten effect. The blocks below the terrain line can be cubes; they don’t have to be an exact replica of what is seen above ground.

Outlining the Foundation Walls

Use God Mode to slip just beneath the terrain to add an additional layer of blocks. You won’t see these blocks but they will secure the effect we are looking for.
Adding the layer of blocks beneath the terrain will help ensure you won’t accidentally tear up the land underneath the walls you’ve made. Once done, return to Normal (non-flatten) mode.

Using the Fill Terrain Function

Use the Terrain Fill tool to quickly add terrain to the inside of this area.

Switch to Flatten Terrain mode and sweep the inside.

The angle of the drill should not make a difference. The terrain inside the blocked out area will flatten.
