Overview
How to put a model together and get it ready for export
Create the Model
Creating the model is simple
Click the Assemble button and build your model from the available body parts.
Clothing the Model
Now, while on the Assemble tab, Select the Clothing Tab (Beside the Parts Tab on the Right)
Select the various Clothing Items and select from the articles of clothing for that part
Texturing the Clothing Item A Brief Description)
Now Click the Texture tab beside the Assemble tab
By selecting the various items of Clothing it will open the Substance menus for the item that make up the articles of clothing of the selected body part.
There are many different properties for the various textures that paint the model here. You can change the skinning colour, texture, the bump intensity, the specularity, how transparent an item is, just to name a few. You have to play in here to discover just what is possible.
Exporting the Finished Model
Once you are happy with your creation, you can export a Wavefront OBJ model that you can import into your favourite 3D Editor. Exporting an OBJ file will export all the texture files in png format as well.
When export you will be give the choice to export using Tri’s and whether or not you want to remove any polys that are hidden by other item meshes.
An exported OBJ file will not contain a Rig (Skeleton). If you want to add a Rig, you have to either edit the OBJ in your favourite 3D Editor, of select the Animate with Mixamo option.
If you chose to Animate with Mixamo, this will pack the model and send it to the Mixamo AutoRig website. This process can cost you money if you aren’t careful. Owners of Fuse are entitled to 2 free T-Posed Rigs when they register their copy of Fuse. After that owners are entitled to 1 free T-Posed Rig per week. (This does not include animated sequences. If you choose to do that on the site it will cost you the credit amount of the animated sequence. There are some free ones if you want to try out the process.)[/i]
At the time of this writing the Mixamo AutoRigger will not work in IE11 even by switching to load the site in Compatiblity Mode (10 is fine, 11 no way). The work around is either to degrade back to EI10 (if possible) or by installing FireFox or Chrome and setting that to be your Default Browser.)
