100% Achievement Guide

Overview

This guide will help explain what is required of you for every achievement in Beyond Blue. No achievements in this game are missable, so you don’t need to worry about achievements that you won’t be able to get. After the main story is over, you are allowed to free roam through all the areas and finish up anything you haven’t already. Achievement completion should take anywhere from 3-4 hours. There is currently a bug that effects the achievement Scan All the Things if you aren’t careful. More information can be found at the Scan All the Things section in this guide.Update 10/9/2020: I’ve added screenshots of where the Whale Sharks that you need are so anyone can easily find them even if they missed them before.Since they haven’t put what bugs they’ve patched into the patch notes, if someone would notify me in the comments of the Remora issue being fixed in any updates, then I can provide credit to you in the guide for letting me know.Don’t forget to give this guide a thumbs up if it helped you!

Misc Achievements

High Fidelity

Change the music five times in your sub’s music player (Secret)

Simply go to the music player in the submarine and change the music 5 times. You can find the music selector to the left of the doorway leading to the seat at the head of the submarine. This is the only secret achievement in the game that you need to worry about. All the other one’s will come naturally with the story/scanning achievements.

Binge Mode

Watch all of the Ocean Insight videos

You will unlock insight videos as you do the story. You can watch the insight videos in your submarine (to the left of the diving suit). You unlock the last videos after the last mission. I believe that you are required to watch every video all the way through.

Scan All the Things

Scan everything in the game

I will start this by saying you do not need to feel the need to go around scanning everything right away if you don’t want to. The game lets you roam freely after the story is completed and you can scan everything needed at that point. After getting in the water, you can go to the pause menu, or use the map button (M on keyboard, Back/Select on controller) and observe a map (one of the story missions won’t let you use a map, but you will be able to use a map after the story is over in the free roam mode). The map will have a lot of circles on it. Every circle is something that you still need to scan. Just go around to each location making sure you’ve gotten all circles off of the map for each area and you will get this achievement.

Currently, there is an issue where Remora (One of the species of fish) will not show up on the map. I reached out to the devs and they said they are aware of this and are looking into it. They pointed out to me that all Remora fish are swimming along-side Whale Sharks. So while this is still an issue, make sure that every time you are scanning a Whale Shark, you also scan any accompanying Remora. I will update the guide when the devs fix this issue.

Edit 10/9/2020:

I believe I have gone out and found all of the Whale Sharks and Remora and have taken screenshots of where to get them so that if you have missed them, then you can go and get them with ease. I was able to find 5 Whale Sharks. 4 of them had 3 Remora around them so I’m guessing you don’t need to find them all. When you find the Whale Sharks, the Remora will be very small and attached to the bottom of the Whale Sharks.
